The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Jedburgh
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Jedburgh, home of Greig Laidlaw who kicked the winning points for Scotland on Tuesday night.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of all of the June Internationals debutants hanging over the bar.

Can't stand football, but I'd rather see Ireland through than another team I could mention.... Good luck Ireland.

Best of luck to our southern brothers. I'm away out for an hour or so so may miss the first half. Trap has the boys well drilled. 2-0 Ireland.

Are there any sexy players in this match then? Is it worth me tuning in? Well, I hate to be so shallow, but it's not like I'm going to learn the offside rule in ten minutes, I am only a

Adrian Chiles is so strangely irritating, just so... irritating. I'm sure he's a lovely guy in real life. But his on-screen 'just a guy in the Pub who speaks his mind without engaging it first' schtick? Puh-lease.

RTE do very good analysis watch it those of you who can. Ireland can play ball, despite what people think, they have shown it during Trap's tenure. Watch Keane's goal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Akd7YlDLpo
That is very good football, they play beneath themselves a lot. Well I'm gone.
COYBIG and don't break any thing, it's going to be a rough ride.

Notch - I think he's one of those presenters that was hyped up because he was good on one popular show, but he's actually not much cop. What time's kick off?

Cari,
It would take you about 15 seconds to understand the off-side rule in football if you cared.
If you can follow rugby you are more than up to understanding footie!
It's only blokes think it's complicated because they have to consider 2 things at once!

Not born Gibbo, on the phone so no offence, you lot aren't worth wasting my credit! Rodders, Keano stamped Southgate and they have worked together a lot. Southgate doesn't hold it against him in an interview I read. He was working wth Viera the other day too. They also have a lot of history!
Gibbo don't you be mocking our Keano top 5 Irish footballers of all time.

MrsP - shh! I only needed a diversion to check out the er...talent.
What's Andrew Trimble doing playing for Croatia?!
According to sources, the Irish goalie's nice. Well we don't want to be seeing too much of him now do we?

Well, in that case, although I am absolutely sure you would understand the rule maybe it would be better if you watched the players intently just to check you've got the hang of it!

There's an Irish substitute called Gibson on the bench. They'd have to be desperate to get him on wouldn't they?

Top 2 Thomond.
Would love to see a vintage Keano lose the plot with chiles.
Keano v Viera...man those were the days. Hate Man utd but Keane from 1998 -2001 was as good a player as I've ever seen...unbelievable player. That performance against Juventus in 1999 was awesome. Wasn't the same after the hip op.
Until BOD and O'Connell came along I'd have said Keane was the greatest Irish sportsman I'd ever seen.

Good luck to Ireland for the football, hope you guys enjoy it (but not too much!)
I am firmly Croatian due to the sweepstake, so apologies in advance for cheering fro them!
I actually really enjoyed the Spain v Italy match earlier too.
Couldn't believe my eyes that Buffon was still playing, I thought he was about 40 but checked and he's only 34! he's literally been around for YEARS. I don't remember watching a big footy tournament without him in it.

Darren Cave at 13, and BOD sticks at 12? (didn't think the aul' fella looked that comfortable there tbh)

ASBO I'd go with D'arcy (as will Kidders) or Cave at 12.
Never mind that, Gavin Duffy will be on the bench on Saturday, he's the only guy who can cover 15
