New game: Six Degrees of Separation
Morning all, time for a bit of Friday fun. I thought we could try a rugby-related version of Six Degrees of Separation - from wiki: "Six degrees of separation refers to the idea that everyone is on average approximately six steps away, by way of introduction, from any other person on Earth, so that a chain of, "a friend of a friend" statements can be made, on average, to connect any two people in six steps or fewer". So for example, how would you link, for example, say Gareth Steenson (Exeter Chiefs) to Ryan Wilson (Glasgow Warriors)? Steeno plays alongside Hoani Tui who appeared in a NZ Maori team in the Churchill Cup that included Angus Macdonald (then playing for Auckland) who will play alongside Ryan Wilson for the Warriors next season [3 steps].
So much like in the 'Who Am I?' thread, one poster poses the challenge, others get to guess (as many as they like), and the winner gets to set the next one. If we set a time limit, say half an hour, and the winner is the one with the shortest connection, or in the event of more than one poster having the same lengths of connection, the quickest.
Anyone care to step up with the first challenge?

Savea played for Baby Blacks at 2010 JWC in Argentina against a Welsh 'A' team (!!) including Ashley Beck, now a teammate of Dirksen's at the O's

Well I came to this thread with good intention. I've thought for 10 minutes and decided its too hard. I'm going to spend an hour with a fiendishly difficult sudoku instead.

That's a shaky one seeing as they never played in the same team together!

Very true, mintie, felt like I was stretching it a bit when I wrote it, I must admit. Re: New game: Six Degrees of Separation
OK, in his final international game, Fitzy made an appearance off the bench vs Wales at Wembley in 1997, and appearing for the Wales team that day was a young winger by the name of Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas, who returned to the Cardiff Blues in 2007 to see out his union club career where he played frequently against Paul O'Connell in games versus Munster, where POC is now part of Munster's boiler-room alongside Donnacha Ryan

You could use Xavier Rush (1997-2005) at the Blues as a link.

Re: New game: Six Degrees of Separation
Sean Fitzpatrick is a pundit on Sky with David Wallace, whose brother played for Munster in the same team as Donnacha Ryan.
OR
Sean Fitzpatrick captained the All Blacks to a series win over the Lions in 1993, the Lions squad contained Richie Wallace who’s brother David played on the same Munster team as Donnache Ryan.

Campese played for Randwick and was coached by Alan Gaffney who was the backs coach at Leinster rugby, succeeded by Joe Schmidt, who signed Nathan Hines, who played in the same Scottish squad as Richie Gray?
