First topic message reminder :

Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The Pub has made it's way to Sydney, as it prepares to host the final test match of the Australia v Wales series.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Kiwi, Linebreaker, Biltong and Asbo above the bar.

Unfortunately like I said the TV is commandeered right now. Thats the danger of having a woman in the house who isn't into rugby! Whenever I'm out here at weekends or whatever my Dad and I make her sit through enough rugby in the regular season, so I've no real desire to impose on her Smile

I guess I could stream it online, but I'm enjoying chilling out listening to some Hip-Hop. Fight the Powers that be and all that \m/

Quigg won then? Just on the interviews. Not watched it.

Poor Thomas Leuluai though. That could be a huge blow for Wigan

Ah wasn't Quigg fighting.

Notch, Wales defended a little too much really. The more the game went on, the more I felt Aus were going to win. Halfpenny is a real character though kicking like that despite being groggy.

It's a bit of a reality check for Wales then. I genuinely thought they could maybe even would get a series win. Not a huge gulf between the teams at all it seems, and no shame in what I've seen of Wales this summer, but Wales still plenty they can work on to get better.

Sad to see the Spice boy beaten like that... the other fella was too young, too strong...always nice to see an aging prizefighter pull off an upset but it wasn't to be guinness .

Hmm a bit harsh on Wales maybe... I fancied them for the series but Australia have really fronted up... they've been much more physical than I expeced them to be. Fair play they've shown again why they are such a great sporting nation but I can see Wales winning next week. Two very good sides and Wales will take a lot from this tour.

You really thought we;d get a series win??!

I didn't, thought we'd be very lucky to get one. 2nd test our best shot (which it may still prove to be). Just hope the lads are so annoyed with themselves they put in a better performance again next week.

Tell me about it. Three minutes to go in Christchurch I genuinely thought we were going to take the All Blacks for the first time ever. The team showed us we should never lose faith but it was a cruel, cruel way to lose.

I never know with Australia. They'll beat the All Blacks and the Boks and lose to Scotland or Samoa. Ireland took them in the RWC and whilst we played really well that day Wales at their very best are better still. If pushed it would be 2-1 either way with all the test being very close on the scoreboard. It still might be 2-1. I'd still give Wales a good chance of winning next week.

Ah it's because in the years leading up to his injury exodus he used to get himself sin binned all the time and it really cost us. He's matured a hell of a lot since his two seasons pretty much out with injury. Since he came back for the 6N's though, he's finally produced the performances he's always been capable of Smile

I'm so pleased he's finally getting through. He should have been challenging O'Connell two years ago. I saw him play for Ireland A at Ravenhill and look like a star. I was thinking; how is this guy not playing higher level? Then Munster go and name O'Connell, O'Callaghan and O'Driscoll as their locks for every big game. Even at that point I'd go as far to say he would have walked into the Leinster or Ulster teams (until we signed Muller anyway).

Just digging up some old memories via the commentators thread. I know Cari will like this one! I love it for the work of the great Jim Neilly.

Angle 3 for me is the worst, you can see he has time to pull out of it but he turns his should in and then grabs 1/2p's foot! I can't tell if he think it'll help 1/2p to land safely or if it actually made it worse. Else why would he grab it??

Its taken a while for him to develop physically though Notch, he's really came off age at the tail end of last season...most thought McLaughlin (who had a great game today too) would go to the RWC as lock/2nd row cover.

He's just got better and better but today was a new level for him for sure... the intensity on his face during the Haka! There were some massive performances today but Ryan for me was the best.

Thats a bad one Dreamer... Shocked

Well, that gallery doesn't seem to give too many details of how effective their actual research was or go into detail about their method! So I can't really judge either way.

I think it's fair enough to want to study what the advantages of Caterpillars having such and such spots are. I hope that in these austere times we don't lose our sense of wonder and curiosity about the world and how it works. If we reduce everything to a financial bottom line, we lose so much.
