The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sydney
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Sydney, as it prepares to host the final test match of the Australia v Wales series.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Kiwi, Linebreaker, Biltong and Asbo above the bar.

It happens because the seas absorb the heat from the sun and it takes a month or so after the summer solstice for that heat to be lost (so the northern hemisphere's still hot in July and August). That's right... I remember that seasonal lag effect now. Sea temps here in April-May are quite warm still. It can be warmer than the outside air temp.
Also in mid December when it's hot; the ocean can feel cold if it's a 10-15 degree difference. However, we usually get that warm layer of water from mid-December to about March-April.
No twilight here though. 8:39pm is last light at best. Tassie gets it though.

Afternoon.
Reading back; lucky, you can ask mw what I do but I'm not posting it on here
Only kidding.
If you really want to know PM me. It's not very exciting though. No Saturday and Sunday stuff for me.
If Staggie's about, we haven't forgotten the Lions stuff. I had to get something sorted at work and I'll be in touch shortly.

Aahhh. Just back from Exe, and a soothing pint in front of me. My mates can't understand why I didn't watch the footy last night. They are mystified why I would watch an England tour rugby match instead.

I do my best to teach 'em MrsP. They admire rugby players (and its fans) but they just don't find rugby 'exciting enough'.
Thankfully I have enough rugby pals around this wee town, and elsewhere, to give me ample opportunities for rugby chat.
Welsh regs - Ealing are definitely playing Cardiff RFC in a pre-season friendly on Sat 25th August at the CAP. Ealing are a bit tardy with posting this on their website, but it is on Cardiff's.

Don't tell 'em that I played a netball match instead . We took a 2 goal lead into the last 10 minutes and ran out of steam, losing by 5 . So now we're in the playoff to avoid last place next week. My other team has a final tomorrow night at least.
We're up to day 4 of no database tomorrow, though at least I was able to access some data on a different server today and get some proper work done!
Just put a chicken casserole in the oven, lunch for the rest of the week is sorted.

Morning. Wales team - disaster. 3-0. Howley Kumquat. McBride Muppet. Rees Poopie. Warburton carrying knock. Evans not in 22 again. Davies another cheap cap. Jenkins living on past glories. Priestland Pansyland more like. Where is Biggar? Kumquat.
I can't wait that long ASBO, I'll have them with chips lunchtime (or tonight)

Bore da pawb / good morning all, I'll have a please, made with two teabags as I overslept this morning.
A lovely part of the world, Swanny. If you have the time, pop over to Penrhyn Bay to have a cuppa at my mum's. To make things more exciting, I won't give you her address so you'll have to knock on doors to find her. You'll have a whale of a time until the police get involved.

Glas, you're right about Howley's team selection. It looks like we're back to the days when you don't get dropped even if you're playing like a drain. Actually, it's a bit different now: Ken Owens was dropped after the first Test for playing well.
And it's lovely that Howley's given Warburton the chance to be outplayed by David Pocock three Saturdays in a row.

So Jimmy Carr has issued an apology via Twitter:
"I now realise I've made a terrible error of judgement... I'm no longer involved in it and will in future conduct my financial affairs much more responsibly. Apologies to everyone."
As ever with this kind of thing, it's a bogus apology. He's not sorry for what he's done, he's sorry he's been found out.

I'm happy enough with it though I am surprised they didn't opt for:
11 Trimble/Zebo
12 Earls
13 BOD
It seems a major retreat from Test 1. Ive no concerns about Paddy Wallace. Except that he won't pass to Earls if he gets the chacne.

I'm just surprised Deccie didn't try Earls at No.8. He has given him a go at most other positions

Why would he stag earls just runs into trouble. I worry about this game. After so many attempts last weeks result will have smacked our boys right back. Hard to see them getting up for this game.
Well wouldn't you be? Thankfully I had a tip off about this story and was able to remove all my funds from this k2 scheme before it became national news. Phew...

Hee! I'd have no concerns about Paddy Wallace if he'd been with the touring party this whole time. He's been sitting on his hands at home for no good reason it turns out. I just hope that doesn't mean he's rusty.
It's quite a dramatic turnaround from the first test. He's essentially leapfrogged Earls and Cave in the centre pecking order.
