The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sydney
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Sydney, as it prepares to host the final test match of the Australia v Wales series.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Kiwi, Linebreaker, Biltong and Asbo above the bar.

He was in Batman begins too. But i'm just being a pedantic shoite. It was his first lead role as an action hero.

Same here. Around that time too. I think the a/c was pushing bugs through the air. I came out feeling queasy like I'd caught a bug. Maybe it was just that one particular cinema but I've not been to a cinema since. Which is a pity because I love movies. Outdoor venues are fine with me though.

The phone call he makes in Taken is probably the greatest scene in cinematic history.
Biltong, have you seen District 9? Is Wikus van de Merwe’s accent a parody? And how did Brain O’Driscoll get a role in it?

I love how he snares the Albanian gangster into saying “good luck” when he meets him. a small plot hole would be that in that scene he’s posing as a French copper and his accent is firmly stuck in Ballymena mode.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sydney
I had a weird bird experience this morning.
4 rainbow lorikeets... 2 pairs but one in particular was like a cat... letting me know (feigning to launch at me) as it was about to jump off the balcony rail onto my arm.... if I would put it there. It looked a bit peed off when I seemed reluctant to do so.
They are so trustworthy, and very bold and inquisitve. They're hillarious and they make a light gurgling watery sound... very pleasant to the ear and it's as if they are trying to talk to you.
It flew in the direction of my arm but I purposely kept it down. It was hovering then had to do a U-turn mid-air to get back to the rail.
(I don't want to encourage them or they'll be in my living room!)
Did I mention they are very nosy as well as noisy too?
When I went to the kitchen later I had to quickly close the window otherwise it would have been inside. Should of seen it's face... stretching it's light green body and purple and orange head to see which coffee cup I was rinsing out in the blydi sink!

We don't have anything as inquisitive over here, Breaker. Crows are intelligent birds but they don't interact with humans like that, as far as I know anyway. Robins are bold birds, though. The funny thing is that in continental Europe, they're known for being shy.

The crows, magpies and currawongs (Aussie slim raven-like bird) are more nervous. They always keep their distance.
Cockatoos and kookaburras... if they're relaxed you can walk slowly up to them and hand feed them.
The kookaburra - when it takes a piece of meat - it's like getting an electric shock, I sort of jolts your fingertips - but's it's the deadly pin-point beak snatching it in a fraction of a second. It never misses it's target and it knows your hand isn't prey. They always seem to be smiling when they do it though...

You should hear them in the morning, Lucky.
Sometimes you get woken up feeling as though you've missed a great joke.
They have odd hours it seems and they're not afraid to let anyone know about it!

Afternoon. Trews purchased, but no suit. Couldn't be harsed lugging it around. May have pop back to John Lewis on Oxford St as they had very nice £500 suits knocked down to about £340.
I'm no 'twitcher' but I do like watching birds. Spent ages watching a pair of Peregrines hunting on Exmoor many years ago. One got a pigeon in full flight. The pigeon never knew what feicen hit it! Whack!!! And a sky full of feathers floating back to earth.
Game over.

He's a big unit, dangerous ball carrier around the fringes. He'll add depth and help us be consistent in the Pro12 but I'd still be seriously concerned in Europe if Ferris is out.

He's 120 kg. I do feel we lack serious power and physicaluty in our backrow when Ferris is missing and this signing addresses that. It's another string to our bow. But I expect some people to be seriously unhappy about it.
But Williams, Doyle, Herring, O'Connor and Heaney who have all been announced in the last week are really more about strength in depth. Wilson and Bowe are our marquee names this summer.

Breaker, do you know anything about this guy that Ulster have just signed?
Sean Doyle is an Australian born openside flanker who has joined from Sydney club side Southern Districts. The Irish-qualified 22 year old has been one of the leading players in the New South Wales Premier Grade over the past four seasons and has also been a strong performer for the NSW ‘A’ representative side.

They started the season well Rava but have slipped to equal second after leading for the first few rounds. I don't know much about Doyle... I think they've televised a few Southern District games but I've missed them.
Eirebilly played for them when he was living here about 13 years ago I think.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sydney
You have to feel sorry for new Munster backrow signing Sean Dougall who said a few months back that one of the biggest reasons for him signing was to train with David Wallace and learn from him.
"The chance to train and play with the likes of David Wallace is another great opportunity and will improve aspects of my game as well as hopefully adding attributes that I never had before. To play for a team like Munster has always been an aspiration of mine. With the culture and ethos they have over there I knew it was a fantastic opportunity"
