Apologies if there is a thread about this elsewhere. I couldn't find one.

Port Vale v Burnley

Hull City v Rotherham United
Fleetwood Town v Nottingham Forest
Carlisle United v Accrington Stanley
Doncaster Rovers v York City
Crewe Alexandra v Hartlepool United
Bury v Middlesbrough
Chesterfield v Tranmere Rovers
Sheffield United v Burton Albion
Blackpool v Morecambe
Leeds United v Shrewsbury Town
Preston North End v Huddersfield Town
Oldham Athletic v Sheffield Wednesday
Cheltenham Town v Milton Keynes Dons
Ipswich Town v Bristol Rovers
Stevenage v AFC Wimbledon
Exeter City v Crystal Palace
Yeovil Town v Colchester United
Birmingham City v Barnet
Bristol City v Gillingham
Northampton Town v Cardiff City
Plymouth Argyle v Portsmouth
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Aldershot Town
Walsall v Brentford
Millwall v Crawley Town
Torquay United v Leicester City
Dagenham & Redbridge v Coventry City
Peterborough United v Southend United
Swindon Town v Brighton & Hove Albion
Watford v Wycombe Wanderers
Charlton Athletic v Leyton Orient
Oxford United v AFC Bournemouth
Who have you drawn?
We've got PNE away, playing the Tues before the start of the season. Are you doing the same or doing the sensible thing and moving it to the Saturday? Preston had already organised a friendly for that day so that's why we are sticking to the Tuesday.
What's your stand-out match?
I reckon Fleetwood Town v Nottm Forest.
One of our loanees, Damien Johnson, preferred the deal he got from Fleetwood to our offer. Shame because, although he did have injury problems, he was a good player whilst on long-term loan with us.

Re: Capital One Cup
It's ROTHERHAM UNITED's (home) turn to knock us out in rd1 (we're generally useless in cup competitions).
As for games that caught my eye there's a few look good.
Notts County v Bradford City,
Bury v Middlesbrough,
Fleetwood Town v Nottingham Forest,
Blackpool v Morecambe,
Millwall v Crawley Town.

All look intriging, the stand out game in my opinion is Torquay v Leicester City.

Don't mention Bradford City ... they knocked us out of the JPT. It was our ambition to win the JPT, not get promoted. But now that won't be possible as we don't get to play in the JPT any more!
You're right, tiger, Torquay v Leicester City also looks likes a cracking match.

Re: Capital One Cup
Closest we ever got was northern QF, before a team in blue and white stripes from west yorks beat us, and then lost to blackpool.
Had to wait another 6 years to appear in a final?

Re: Capital One Cup
We have Sheff Weds at home which is going to be on the tele
Good draw for us as we are a little bit cash strapped at the moment and will probs be relying on the youth players and loanees again.
Weds should bring a couple of thousand being the first game of the season and also being on tele means a bit of money we hadn't budgeted for the season.

We got Bury away which I cant see being an easy tie for us actually, will need to be on it early in that one.
In Mogga we trust tho, up the Boro!!

Re: Capital One Cup
Since when has there been a capital one cup?
We've got Accrington Stanley, will probably be a good match but promotion should be the more important target this season.

Agreed - there are never any easy games where Boro are concerned. With a freshened up squad and a good pre-season behind us though, hopefully we'll be a slicker, better-organised unit this season.
