Leon Britton is the same
Leon Britton has such great passing statistics because all he does is pass it 5 yards across or backwards.
I remember seeing him for Swansea v Bristol City a good few years back (probably a League 1 game). He had 3 or 4 Bristol City defenders around him and he was twisting and turning, and noone could get it off him.
It was like kids in a playground, where one kid is so much better than the rest and noone can get close to him

Yeah he is a very tricky little player, but this season it has been proven that you can negate him. It is a high risk tactic to try and negate Swansea, because they could still pick you apart, but if you press really high you can force them into mistakes/going long

Britton is the type of player I'd like to be (and am on Fifa 12...). Just keep it simple, keep it ticking over and let the ball do the work.

Re: The 606v2 Fantastic Fantasy Football Homepage page XIX
I would love to be in the Pirlo style, demanding the ball and having the bravery to keep hold of the ball looking for openings and taking it forward and making the execution.
In reality I'm more of a clogger going around closing players down, poor control of the ball lack confidence in getting the ball and making something happen. Get it hit long and kick players.

Ok Viva has set the ball rolling here. What type of footballers are we?
I am usually a very quiet person, just like to do my business without any fuss. But when I am in goal I become a whole different person. I am loud, and am always shouting at my defenders, especially when they do something wrong! My mates always say I become a dick when I play in goal, but as long as I make em do there job I don't care

I'm a right sided player who goes forward a bit too often but isn't afraid of the tackle. Play at both right mid and right back.
Re: The 606v2 Fantastic Fantasy Football Homepage page XIX
I'm a big lumbering centre back in the mold of Neil Ruddock, no skill but can ensure their forward spends the game watching from the sidelines with ice wrapped around their ankle, my one saving grace is I'm really good at taking inswinging corners from the left.

Re: The 606v2 Fantastic Fantasy Football Homepage page XIX
I do play as a CB so those skills are not that important as defending but I wish I was better on the ball bringing it out and the confidence to ask for it rather then hoping
You can't test my leadership skills I'm always shouting always communicating with the players telling them when to drop deep or push out, I love that part of the game. I'll put my body on the line block shots jump in the way die for the cause to make up for my lack of technique.

Re: The 606v2 Fantastic Fantasy Football Homepage page XIX
I have to say as a GK I love penalties. I have a tactic in shootouts which usually gives at least one save per shootout. I also love taking a pen, and am surprisingly good at taking them, only having missed 1 out of about 15 in my career

I was a CM who kept running and played box to box. Limited skill on the ball, but I could make a nuisance of myself, and also have a good shot from outside the box.
As age caught up with me, I moved to CB as my legs couldn't keep it up anymore!!!

Looks like we're all opposite to the way we preach Football or our tactics for the Euro Division. Big fat kickers who can't play much but love to talka good game.
Re: The 606v2 Fantastic Fantasy Football Homepage page XIX
I'm either central or on the left, and I'm alright at dribbling and passing but I can't finish at all. My tactic is hit it in the general direction of the goal and hope for the best.

Isn't it the case that all the best managers, weren't the best players

Every time I try and play football, I lose the ball. I see myself as a DM, fill in at CB when they go forward and rarely ever get into the opposition penalty area!

I have to say I am looking into the sports area - either of coaching or journalism. I would like to do something at Loughborough University, maybe a sports science degree.

I think its between Nando or Twist as our strikers, the others can be the bench warmers. Anyone here naturally left footed?

No, but I've always played there for some reason and I do use my left (with varying levels of success) a fair bit.

Re: The 606v2 Fantastic Fantasy Football Homepage page XIX
It seems both me and Hero are tackling CB's, Marky will have to drop deep pick the ball of us and spread it to speedy Gregers or the slow but glue footed Sodhat. Afro would have to make runs into the opposition half making runs passed our striker.
Olly I give it back just as good.

Gregers he/she would have better of not writing anything.
Olly nothing serious, School team Football and district and I did play Sunday League for a bit now I play 5 a side but I have played against some semi pro players and a guy who played for Iraq or Iran U-18 and Isaiah Osbourne who plays for Hibs when we were back at school he is Poopie.

I played as a centre forward in my work's annual 6 a side tournament in Oxford (well, Abingdon) about 2 years ago, we got to the semi finals thanks to my incredible strike rate.

Well my real name is Wayne Rooney, you might have heard of me
And I play 6 a side on a Sunday at Man City's training ground. I play in a goal, a bit like Heurelho Gomes, capable of making an incredible save then lets a pass back roll over my foot to give an easy goal, or picking up a backpass to give the other team a free kick.

Abingdon's leisure centre has a couple of 3G pitches, it was there (from memory, I may be wrong)

I have played at quite a high standard in my younger days. I have played for Norfolk county side, and not for very long because I quit as the coach had literally no clue how to coach a football side. Also played for Norwich academy for a season and the rung below the academy for 4-5 seasons. I have the proud record of never losing a match against Ipswich
