Including Rodwell was solely as the first young English DCM I could think of!

We need a young version of Carrick or Scholes to play alongside Wilshere, and with a defensive player behind them.

Wingers wise, I think we have a good young core with Sturridge, Johnson, Oxo, Walcott etc

Up front I hope Welbeck pushes on because outside of him I don't see much coming through.

How is Ross Barkley likely to come along Afro?

I've seen so little of him but everyone suggests he is a big talent. Could he be involved with England one day?

From what I have seen of him, he is going to be top quality if he maintains his progress. Head and shoulders ahead of Rodwell.

They academy coaches keep claiming him to be the best young player they have seen come through our system

He would have broken through earlier, but he missed a year with a broken leg. Moyes deliberately held him back last year, but the suggestion is that we will see much more of him next season.

If you look at it, by 2016 and 2018 we should have a very good team. But that is if the players develop well enough and not everyone of them will unfortunately.

Just signed Nagatomo from Lawyers - let me know if I need to throw him back

I checked and he wasn't signed already so I hope I'm ok, because I've sent him off for French lessons already

Rodwell should never play for England, he is a poo player who has been living off 2008 what has he done. Big strong player who made it through the system because of his physical advantage when the others eventually filled up and were stronger his lack of technique showed up when he can't bully players.

Afro I did say NOW meaning today, Wilshere is injury prone he plays for Arsenal a team who love to bring young boys into the team straight away, he has no pressure on him, if he played for a better team he would struggle. We don't know if Wilshere will be the same player from injury so I am right at the present time Cleverly and the others are better.

Rodwell is a good young player. not amazing, but he is decent and would be a good DM for us.

And on Carrick, I lost a lot of respect for him when I found out he didn't want to be in the squad because he wasn't first team. You don't make yourself unavailable for your country. When your country comes calling, you go unless you are injured. As the saying goes, you don't retire from your country, you let your country retire you

Are talking about the same Rodwell? He came through the system as a CB. He only moved to DM when he was already in the first team squad. And I can't see why you think he lack's technique. His biggest strength is that he doesn't give the ball away cheapily because of his technique.

Cleverley barely played last season because of injuries, so apply the same rule to Cleverley as you do to Wilshere. If Wilshere is injury prone, then so is Cleverley. This season he had two mid-term injuries that kept him out for the season, but before that I can't remember him picking up injuries. That's hardly injury prone

It's not as if Wilshere picked up a career threatening injury, or one that is likely to affect his ability.

I find it funny when supporters give it the big talk about players and loyalty to England when they put thier club before country. Not pointing it just at you Olly myself too we all do it.

Carrick is better then Parker and Barry why should he sit on the bench when the players playing are not better then him. I know I would be peed off.

Yes Afro the same Rodwell, it's not just about keeping the ball but creating something with it, we all can do 5 yard passes sidewards/backwards. Wilshere did not make one single app last season he got injured and then injured again. He has played a third of a season with Bolton then a long season with Arsenal and then injured the season after. Thats injury prone. He ain't playing so his growth and learning will slow down, a bit like Ramsey when he broke his leg missing out ona crucial year.

So one season out injured? Cleverley has missed more game time than Wilshere in his career, and his are through numerous mucular injuries. If either of them are "injury prone" then it's Cleverley.

I think Viva got out the wrong side of bed this morning.

Hey Afro, you got down to Ashton Gate a bit last season didn't you say?

Did you see much of Jordan Spence while he was on loan? I'm West Ham in another league and I wonder how strong a full back he might be so I can waste money elsewhere.

Doh you've just said it yourself if you put your club before country then of course you can't be just as passionate for your country. I always have and always will be Club > Country of course I want England to win but not before United. I only realised till now that I want England to win because of the people not so much the Football team or players but to see people smiling the Heros and Afros who've been around for 50 odd years and never seen England win. Afterall I am the peoples champion!

Joey Barton is fined 6 weeks wages and stripped of the captaincy by QPR. And Barton has put this on twitter

Joseph Barton ‏@Joey7Barton
I was reckless and deserved every punishment I received. Money comes and goes, it's not important to me. Losing the captaincy and missing...

...12 games, is what really hurts. I was stupid and that what happens when u do dumb things. I am confident ill bounce back. Cannot wait.

So it appears the money part of the punishment is just worthless to him

Or replace Henderson with Adam Johnson, McEachran with Cleverley and Sturridge with Wellbeck. That in my eyes is a properly good side.

And Olly, can you please refer to him by his proper name... "The Champions League Winning" Ryan Bertrand.

I like the idea of playing 12 players, but i'm sure that goes against the rules.

God they would have been depressing texts...

Italy have ball, attacking
Italy have ball, attacking
England have ball. Now Italy have ball, attacking
England lose on penalties

Something like that, I imagine?

Yeah that Sigurdsson to Spurs rumour has been gathering a lot of pace recently which is weird, because I thought the reason he didn't want to go to Swansea anymore is because Rodgers left. Thought he would go to Pool.

Nice to see we are expanding our horizon to overseas players Very Happy
