The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Béal Feirste
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Belfast - the rope-making and ship building capital of the world.
Now the Mouth of the Shoal awaits the safe arrival of one of it's long lost daughter's - Cariadwr - in her ongoing quest to be as close as possible to one of her favourite players... Tomás Ó Buaigh of Emyvale.... on her Birthday
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Nial O'Connor, Cari & Tommy Bowe, "Pickles" the wonder dog of '66, Wikus van de Merwe and Black Caviar above the bar.

I really don't understand the fuss about 50 Shades of Grey either. Erotic literature has been around for aeons, and there's much better written and sexier stuff around if that's what rocks your boat. I think it's a classic case of a big band wagon rolling through. Apparently the book is actually quite mediocre.
Thanks for the tip, Cari.

Enjoy your new home prop.
I left home at 21 and it was a struggle at first, but it was the best thing I did. Freedom, but much learning about life.
Evening all.

I don’t ever want to see a drink again for as long as I live. Worst case of the DT’s I’ve ever had in my life last night, was convinced I was in a barber chair while someone force fed me hair. Truly terrifying. Cork was fun, but never again…

Hi all. Not feeling well at all today. Last night's combination of rum, whisky (thats right it was without an "e") and beer has not gone down well.
Been up since 7 for work. Still have not been able to eat anything. I have had water, fresh orange juice, coca cola, tea and coffee. None have worked.

Good god Staggy that's simply a recipe for a huuuuuuge hangover. Rum, whisky and beer? Are ya sane?
My sincere sympathies are with you though, definately try and get some food down if you are to speed up the recovery.

When I get a bad hangover I feel like my stomach has shrunk. I’m thirsty but I just don’t feel like I’ve the room to get the fluids back into me.
I just had two pieces of toast, the first thing I’ve ate since about 2pm yesterday and I feel uncomfortably full.
It’s a good thing I’ve a 2 hour meeting with an ISO auditor today, that’s going to be awesome…

Oh jeezuz my lower intestines feel like they went toe to toe in a bout against Katie Taylor.
Pete - I had some pals over and they brought a bottle of scotch. We drank it watching the soccer match, then went to the pub and I had a few pints and they some girls doing a promotion for free Malibu came in and we got a few rums for free. Never look a gift horse in the mouth.
I am ravenously hungry but the thought of food makes the contents of my stomach want to explode out of every orifice possible.

Stag the best remedy for that is an oily english style breakfast, a couple of glasses of fruit juice, it won't take long before nature will call, and you will be as right as rain.red_stag wrote:Oh jeezuz my lower intestines feel like they went toe to toe in a bout against Katie Taylor.

Biltong - your are very right my friend.
The best fry up I ever had was in Barking in East London.
I was over over Munsty's 21st birthday and we did the dog on it in a major way. Next morning me and a few of the other lads found this real greasy spoon cafe recommended to us by some London cabbie.
10% food, 90% grease and 100% taste!!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Béal Feirste
Morning all, London has decided to start off my week off on a damp note.
So I'm going to to all the jobs around the house I was too hungover to do yesterday or Saturday (missing last tube home Saturday night was an error, compounded by us deciding to get a couple more pints in before facing up to the perils of the 90 minute night bus to "near home". At least KFC near home was still open at 3am (note, I only eat there when I'm drunk).
Asbo, if you're still about, a mate suggested doing a trip up to Murrayfield for the ABs AI on Remembrance Day. What's the best option for tickets? The NZRU allocation tickets go on sale any day, but they're a bit pricey (they will have Cat2 for £70, Cat3 for £60). Which is about £100 cheaper than the Twickenham ones!

Pete, those Kiwi tickets look v pricey relative to the direct price - check here: http://www.scottishrugby.org/emctests/Kiwireddevil wrote:Morning all, London has decided to start off my week off on a damp note.

I've just realised the NZ alloc tix prices were in $NZ not £s. So basically on a par with the SRU - but the SRU lets you pick exact seats, and doesn't insist on an NZ passport no for each ticket.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Béal Feirste
Hiya all. Back in work today. Lovely time up Inverness. Real shame I don't get up there much, especially for my wife (though she goes more than me).
Killer of a drive back down. Had to drive to Wales, then back to Swindon all in the same day, so it took like 12 hours, with a detour in because of the poor old fella that killed himself driving up the wrong way of the M4. It may be harsh, but I'm glad he didn't cause further injuries. Not sure what possessed him to do a u turn at the toll, bar I guess he had no money.
