The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Béal Feirste
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Belfast - the rope-making and ship building capital of the world.
Now the Mouth of the Shoal awaits the safe arrival of one of it's long lost daughter's - Cariadwr - in her ongoing quest to be as close as possible to one of her favourite players... Tomás Ó Buaigh of Emyvale.... on her Birthday
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Nial O'Connor, Cari & Tommy Bowe, "Pickles" the wonder dog of '66, Wikus van de Merwe and Black Caviar above the bar.

Morning folks. Hope the hand is on the mend Hughie.
for me please.
Stuck outside Architects office in Derry without my keys. The only other guy who gets here before nine is off his week. He wasn't happy when I rang at 8 to see how long he would be

It's cloudy here but it's stopped raining. Hopefully it'll be dry later and I can take the pup up to Gaer fort, she loves it up there but she's not so keen when it's wet!

Sounds like an adventure for you and Lola, Lucky.
I vaguely remember Brecon but we came from the east... through Ross-on-Wye. Tidy countryside going through the pass.
I hope the weather fines up. Exactly the same weather here... rain on and off.
Good for watching footy though. S.O.O. decider kicks off in under 2 hours.
So it will either be: 17-12 or 16-13 to Qld in the series; 51-42 or 50-43 to them in overall games. Hope it's the latter.... please?
Not even nervous... been there so many times before I've lost all sensitivity.

I used to watch a lot of rugby league but I bet I couldn't name many players now who haven't retired.

Yeah, it's over-hyped here. You can't escape it. Very light traffic on the Bridge at peak hour because of school hols but also everyone wants to get home to watch. Just want it to be over and done with.
Last 5 years have been a nightmare but I've been watching it for 32!
Things were going well in 2005 when we eventually levelled up at 42-all and 12 series each... but ever since then we've stood still.
trivia: Justin Beiber was 11 years old last time we won and facebook had just been 'invented'

Radio station quiz had a rerun of some of the dopiest answers they got over the years:
Q What star do travellers follow?
A: Joe Dolan (probably lost on you if not from Ireland)
Q: What was Hitlers first name?
A: Heil
Q: What was the main language used by the ancient Romans?
A: Greek
Q: What nationality is Pope John Paul II
A: Jewish

You'd think that people with poor general knowledge would think better of applying to go on general knowledge quiz shows, but apparently the desire to be on TV is too strong for them.
The most recent 'facepalm' moment I can think of was on Pointless. This mother-and-daughter team got through to the final round and had to choose a category. They chose 'Modern British Artists'. Their question was to name three artists whose work had appeared at some exhibition or other. The daughter then tells the host that it's a terrible question for them because they don't know any modern British artists.

It baffles me Luckless though this is nothing that serious like national tv.
You ring in, the radio host asks 5-6 questions to two people and the winner gets something from whatever local business is sponsoring it - weekend away in a B&B, dinner at a restaurant, an iPod etc.

All the bosses have feiced off to play golf (no invite for the pitch and puttmeister here i notice) so i'm putting my feet up for the afternoon.

This whole Higgs particle thing is obviously hugely significant and I wish I understood it. I found physics too similar to maths for my liking. All I remember from physics lessons at school is custard bombs, Roy G. Biv and getting caught carving graffiti into the desks.

Well it seems I may have got that apprenticeship job I applied for, I have to turn up for a medical and as long as I pass that I have got it. I am pretty happy, this is the first job out of literally about a hundred applications that I have actually succeeded with! Plus this is a career for life, so I will be working my ass off. But yeah thanks very much for all the advice I got here, you guys were fantastic.

Ever heard of Wrightbus? I will be working in the production line for those guys, and receiving training for the next few years or so. They are one company who are actually thriving despite the current economic problems, so it seems a really good place to work.

Brightend up a bit now alright but still not great, didn't get my usual game on Monday this week. There wasn't a spot for me unfotunately. I have worked out twice this week though so not too shabby.
Ws thinking this for a topic for the day, out of the matches you played yourself as a sportsperson, is there one in particular that sticks out? Maybe you played class or there was a serious incident in the match or something.
