farells pinpoint kicking
Was it me or was he intentionally kicking blind . Every time he kicked it went
Like a guided missile to the opposition . I mean it was like vintage parks .
To be fair steyns goalkicking was equally atrocious.
flood is the better player for me both kicking and in attack

Re: farells pinpoint kicking
I think the conditions were pretty awful at the weekend. Farrell is a young guy who is improving, there really is noticeable difference between these performances and the ones in the 6N. You could argue he's making more mistakes now but he is also playing a lot better rugby now. He still isn't ready for international rugby and that is evidenced in his slow passing, iffy positioning (he struggles to vary his depth correctly) and in the way he resorts to his aimless kicks down field. His imagination and repoitre of moves and skills is still developing and it is plain to see.
Flood is easily the better 10 and I think Farrell might benefit from playing 12 alongside Flood a little more, particularly if we have an easier AI game. It was good to see Goode at 15 as having the Geordan Murphy style additional playmaker from fb gave Farell some support.

The garryowen that was caught just outside the Boks 22 by Aplon milliseconds before Ashton hit him like an exocet was a good kick.
Other than that he was poor out of hand I agree.

I am amaze that two players who get so much practising in the game make so terrible kicks. There were 93 kick from hand. Which is amazing consider how many minute of actually game play we get.

Bloody Gopperth!
Farrel needs to play more at 10. If he actually gets time there and not constantly moving between 12 and 13 then he may get better at the role.
But he'll never learn if he isn't playing there.
