So let's have a thread.
Andy and Rafa take the stage tomorrow. Oh wait.........

Agree PaulS...can't believe they can't schedule starts earlier...these breaks make logical sense but they kill the flow of these matches.

So we might get 1hr 15min play before 11pm...hardly seems worth it...just over 1 set.

I'm actually worried for Murray at this point. Well, at least until I get to see how they both start.
Seems Murray has the knee taped up now too...
Anyway, as others have said above, I don't want pretty now, just the win.

Re: Wimbledon Day 6
Well this was always going to be a tricky one against a guy who is both a veteran and a very talented shot maker. Murray is in big trouble. Baggy has to win the third, in fact whoever wins the 3rd will pretty much be a lock for the match, although murray has a much better chance of coming back and winning even if he loses the 3rd. Baggy has all the shots and hits flat and early, I have always wondered why he hasn't done better before at wimbeldon.

Re: Wimbledon Day 6
Murray is the better player but if Baghdatis plays better than him on the day, then Baghdatis will probably win and deserve to win. Murray has to learn how to win a Grand Slam and this is not the level of tennis that will win him one. However maybe Murray will move through the gears at some point during this match.

One thing I like is that in the last two slams with all this talk about how the field outside the top 4 has been weak the lower ranking guys have really stepped up both at the french and here. Yes I know the french not as much but it was never easy for the big 4 guys in the early rounds, well at least it was never easy for those not named Nadal.
Baggy in my mind should have always been more dangerous on grass and I never knew why he didn't have a good push at wimbeldon once or twice.

Sorry, I missed that. All I saw was Ferrer beat Murray on clay, and.....socal1976 wrote:lydian wrote:Feels like a DC atmosphere now...

You're not suggesting Rosol and Baggy?

You have to say Baggy is a great ball striker. Woeful underachievement by him these past 6 years.

Dodger Dave wrote:I'm beginning to like this roof........late night tennis is brillant!
I agree Dodger, late night grandslam tennis has such a great mood and feel about it. I have been to day events and at daytime the sun kind of saps your energy a bit while at night in more ideal viewing conditions and with more time to get a couple of drinks the atmosphere of the live events is much better.

Just too good with the FH.
Murray needs to up his game. This is just shocking at the moment.

Re: Wimbledon Day 6
If Murray does lose here in the third round then it could be said that the signs were there - a first round loss at Queens to Mahut (who was summarily dismissed in the next round) plus quite a poor clay court season.

Baggy played well to secure the break and hold it.

Definitely Baggy is hitting some beautiful strikes but this is down to Murray playing scared / within himself IMO...
Needs to get pumped and up his intensity...

Murray has got the chance of a lifetime to be the first Brit for yonks to reach a Wimbledon final - someone please kick him up the backside.

Murray gonna win it in 4, he is fired up and playing a bit aggressive compared to very passive game early on in the 3rd.

Lendl looks to be the odd one out in Team Murray. I just hope Murray is able to return the faith that Lendl has in him.

Re: Wimbledon Day 6
Yep Bb, you get the feeling that Baggy checks Murray is ok out of courtesy but then quickly turns away remembering feigning is what Murray does.

Re: Wimbledon Day 6
Why the hell Murray waits for the opponent to command him to play aggressive, when he is playing aggresive he plays a lot better and wins more points, Andy just have to realize that he is not that bad as an aggressive player as he thinks to be.

Andy, if I wanted to see first pumps and "come on"s on every single point, including unforced errors, I'd watch the WTA. Please stop.
