It is a criminal mistake. At 2-0 down and after a disappointing tie breaker in 2nd, Federer managed to regroup and beat Benneteau in 5 sets. At 2-0 down it looked all over... but I held onto belief that a champion like Federer always has more in the tank!

Federer showed the difference between a good player and a great player. Bottle, will to win, fitness and an ability to regroup when it matters. Make no mistake about it, that was an amazing come back by Federer that only a few players could have achieved from that point on grass, especially when playing so poorly in the opening 2 sets against someone playing his best match.

Benneteau played his part, but his lack of stamina gave Federer a glimmer of a chance and he took it with both hands. The telling moment was the 4th set tie break. Federer was being matched every step of the way until he pulled away with some real gritty play and determination. Benneteau had nothing more to give, his chance had gone and Federer wrapped up the 5th in style.

It was a great match! Shame if you missed it!

Not Federer at his best, but Federer showing why he is a champion. I'm very happy. Hard luck Benneteau, another time you may have taken that match. Just wasn't your day.

Great will by Fed, but he looked completely out of energy entire match, no idea why he was so nervous, may be coz Nadal out he thought he thought he is the outright favorite to win the title and hence the show.

Yes only Champs can do this, but not to forget Nadal has done it several times too and he is a champ too. I am not Nadal fan and I am delighted Fed is still in the tournament and would like to see him lift the title and the no.1 status back, but please no negative on Rafa, he had his bad day and the opponent played great and hence the result. thumbsup

I never mentioned Nadal. You did.

Yes Nadal also has the same mindset. I don't question that. But Federer is the GOAT and 16 Slam winner for a reason.
