The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Oxford - the new location for newly promoted London Welsh.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the montage of pictures of Lyn Jones above the bar.

I got 12.... 4,10 and 14 wrong.
Speaking of '14' it was -14 last night in Charlotte Pass. Ff-freezing!
3-all Reds - Highlanders. 10 mins in.

To be fair to the lads doing it now, a few of the answers were revealed on here
Micko, still doesn't change the fact that you're a West Brit. Dubs didn't want to change things until the rebels were killed in 1916

Jeepers, I got 15 out of 15. Admittedly 3 of my answers were complete guesses but hey, sign me up as a superbrit

Still need to win next week to be sure of a playoff unless the Reds and Sharks both lose this weekend to end their runs, but it's in our own hands.
The Red' strip vs the Highlanders is awful. Red jersey with maroon, brown and white aboriginal art on chest and back. Looks a bit like Quade's thrown up on his after a night out. 3-3 after 20

I quite like that jersey, but then I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff (indigenous art)

You coul be put back in yourr box this Summer Micko. If teams play disciplined against you, ye look in trouble. Do Dublin have the panel other teams do? It's also incredibly hard to retain Same. I think everyone knows how to get at Connolly too. Honestly GAA players are possibly the thickest sportsmen I have ever seen on the field

Everyone will up their game when they play the All Ireland champs, sure didn’t Mayo beat the champs last year.
As with every season you can’t tell who’s looking like serious contenders until the provincial champs are done, after that, get a handy draw and you could be laughing.

They did, shoite tactics were at fault, and an all round poor performance. A few teams look good, you can tell a bit from the provincial side of things, like Cork beat Kerry comfortably playing in first gear and Dublin can win whilst playing shoite. Ulster seems to be up in the air. No one outstanding county.

Was a shock to hear that Roscommon beat Armagh, maybe they'll be looking to get McGeeney back, sure he might even bring Seanie Johnson with him

I wasn't born back then but I wonder was theere similar outrage when Larry Tompkins and Shay Fahy lined out for Cork despite being from and playing football in Kildare? Slightly different circumstances admittedly but still.

The controversy isn't over the transfer though, they happen (Vinny Murphy playing hurling for Kerry!!) but it's about how they went about it, McGeeney having the ear of the GPA, the 45 second stint for Choill Dubh etc.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
It's a bit of both really Mick. I don't think people mind players transferring to smaller counties due to work or whatever but this almost seems like he is doing it just to try and win something (Dublin have a few non Dubs in their hurling panel or they used to when they were weaker). The manner they have gone about it is also a bit of a joke admittedly.

Well that's true, there's an element of glory hunting there, but to be fair he didn't move to Straffan just to play for Kildare.

I suppose, the main problem is he is moving to a stronger county, if he worked in Leitrim and played for them I doubt we would be hearing much about it.

Programming my UPC box is tricky enough!
I programmed an automated BOM configurator, which has been deployed globally and used to cut the manual processing time of Bills of Materials in half. But yeah, i know nout else about it.

I was only going on the thoughts of a poster on the forum. You know I love you Mick, but in a totally manly way.
Great news for Cork City FC anyway, playing a Man Utd XI in the Cross in a few weeks time. Tickets reasonably priced and even though it will be all academy fellas (there are some handy Irish lads) it will draw a big crowd mainly because it's United. On top of games agaisnt Watford and Blackburn this year, the PR department are doign a "Leinster" on it.

Still humming along fine. I gave it what I thought was a bad scratch trying to park it a few weeks back. Turned out to be a very small nick to the paintwork. Overall quite happy.

I asked because I've finally got around to buying roadside assistance cover for the Micra. I paid £92 for a year's cover, which I can live with.

Thomond, as a Dub fan agree completely Connolly is as thick as a plank and a liability too - a red card waiting to happen. We were bluddy lucky to get past Wexford - more their incompetence in the secind half than any brilliance on part of Dubs. Can't remember the Brogans playing worse - at least Bernard made the pass for McManamon's goals - otherwise he's was dire. Can't work why that blondie lad for Wexford who couldn't miss in the first half couldn't hit a barn door in the second half.
Afraid don't have high hopes for Dubs this year - hard to see past Cork.
Bookies are offering a 12 point spread for Clare on Sunday - might be worth a modest punt.
Oh and Stone Roses were immense in the Phoenix last night.

Just saw the last five of the Saders game. Sonny Bill probably blew a great chance at the end to play a part putting his winger in. Wonder if he struggled to shift his hands, so had to take it in.
