First topic message reminder :

Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The Pub has made it's way to Oxford - the new location for newly promoted London Welsh.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the montage of pictures of Lyn Jones above the bar.

Murray should see this out but I hope he doesn't. Come on Jo, built more like a linebacker or a back row than a tennis player, he has great power but has shown some mix of finesse.

Evening All. coffee Hope all's well in Pub World.

Not watching the tennis cause I don't understand it, and there's no eye candy.

Meanwhile, I have agreed to do overtime tomorrow...that should pay for my visit to Tommy next season Very Happy

I LOVE TENNIS!

ahem

Ale

What a couple of games this has been. My Mam has also just declared that along with Noel Fielding, Tsonga would be an ideal son in law Erm (actually, as it's Tsonga, that should be a Very Happy)

Just glad the tennis is still on, was worried I'd miss it all.

And happy Friday and weekend everyone Smile

Oh waw!!

What a get by Tsonga!

This is a brilliant match!

Still really want Murray to win, but I won't be too upset if Tsonga beats him, as he's one of my fave players. His fight back last year from 2 sets down against Federer is still one of the most amazing matches I've ever seen.

He is built like a feicing backrow or a linebacker. I wouldn't mind Munster giving him a shout if we had an nIQ spot left. He is 15-40 down, in the game come on Jo hold serve and get him next one. You need to start stepping up!

It was crazy, I so thought it was finally his year, the 5th set seemed to go on forever, gutted when he lost it, the crowd were too I think, horrible to have been in 3 Wimbledon Finals and then lost all of them (to the same player!)

Roddick has always looked like a talented guy but has struggled to win big ones. His serve has dissipated and he has dropped down a lot he will struggle to be in serious contention for another one.

Murray wins. Great final point, well done Murray he played superb stuff, disappointed for my boy Tsonga but he will be back. Now onto Sunday RF better make it 17 and counting!

74 years, has it really been that long?

I don't know what to do with myself. I've been programmed my whole life to painfully accept a SF defeat at Wimbledon from a British player. This is a most unusual feeling...

Wink

He could be both, one or other or neither. I don't know which way he personally leans.

But he's done well. And in the interview... He could have been forgiven for pausing between questions post-match to try and dislodge a BBC reporter who was attempting to crawl up his a•se and lay eggs. Got to say I like that guy (Murray, not the parasite). I like the cut of his jib.

You will just have to get final heartache. It's not as bad as semi final pain. Roger Federer will drive the bus on Sunday. He is a very solid player and he won't get a better chance than this I feel.

I'm only ribbing you RD, he can do it. he is more suited to playing RF oddly. I would probably be a bit happy if he won but Federer for me is one of the all time greats and I love watching him play. I always hates SF pain a lot worse and I have felt it a few times as a player and a supporter. Full of what-ifs.

Enjoy it. Murray showed some stones which I didn't think he had having failed a few times in the past, well done to the guy.

Oi T, just cos he's a Brit, doent mean to say he cant beat Federer. If it had been against a fit Nadal... then Id say no chance. But he has a good chance v a declining Fed, imho.

BTW, Nadal v Federer was the 2nd-best Wimbledon Final Ive ever seen.

You see the match today? If that's Federer in decline (admittedly I only saw the first set) then he still has some left in him. Murray can win it he is better suited to paly Federer I think. He can attack his serve and backhand.

Ah roysh ya are SIN E. OK

He just needs a new National coach, to allow him to play like he does for Leinster (like he did in the 2nd Test). That goes for the rest of em too.

We ALL know that by now. Dont we?

Murray has a much better chance against Federer then he would Djokovic, but all I will say is that I want him to win A set. Just one. He's been to 3 GS finals before and not managed that, so please Andy, one set to start with (and then go on to steam roller the boring fart in the knitwear).

And just catching up with the doubles news. Jonathan Marray through to the mens doubles! First time we've had a Brit in that for yonks too!

I'm joshing, jaysus you get wound up easily with Sexton. We played our turgid brand of puke in the second test as well. Not exactly incisive back play like, just played at pace with physicality. We Irish are not built ot play that one of the reasons we succeed at it only rarley in my view. We are built to play a game akin to Leinster, some phyiscal elements but with an emphasis on speed and quick ball. Works for my side too..

My view of what went wrong for Ireland:http://www.sportpulse.net/content/ireland-rugby-summer-tour-review-3834?qt-sidebar_second_quicktabs=2

Should be on the Journal soon hopefully.

Jayz Dreamer, Brits in the Mens Doubles and Singles Finals. I bet someone would have won a fortune on that happening.

With Sexton you do, are you right yeah. I never said you were wrong. You know I'm not his biggest fna but he is playing well I think Madigan could develop into something greater. Sexton is a very talented lad he is not being used correctly I agree with you neither are any of the Irish team.

We're playing a game we're not suited to and no Irish team has played. People make the comparison with Musnter and it is a load of bollix. Munster's game was a heck of a lot better than that had some good backplay at times particularly in 08 we scored some scintillating tries.

+1.

Munster were a great team. All this BS about it being based on passion alone, is just pure bollix. They were just the best team in Europe when they won the HC x 2.

There's a British bloke that's playing in the mixed doubles QF now too, would be great if he could make it 3 out of 3 for us today Smile

Also been reading up that there's a record Welsh representation at the Olympics this year too, tis fab, starting to get really excited for the Olympics now!Still not sure if I'm going to go up to London during them though, just think it's going to be far too busy there. We shall see though, once Olympic fever grips I might just have to make the journey...

It's not that it's just that people say it was a similar gameplan and it wasn't. Did you give the article a sconce? Feedabck appreciated if you did.

II'd say tennis tickets will be easy enough to get RD, at Wimbledon too! The courts are already feiced they need major surgery before the games. 21 days is it? That's what a Beeb ad said I think.
