The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Oxford - the new location for newly promoted London Welsh.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the montage of pictures of Lyn Jones above the bar.

Rodders that reminds me actually. A friend of a friend is over from Australia for a bit. We took her up to the north coast yesterday and did the giants causeway, rope bridge and distillery. She wants to see Londonderry at some point this week. Any suggestions squire?

I knew Murray would regret those two games where he didn't take his break chances.
Fed gets one chance and he takes the set.

Why not take her to Derry instead Willser? Much nicer place. Full of History.
Fed is stepping it up here. Murray had his chances to win that set.

Derry Gibson? Is that anywhere near Londonderry?
Screw you fed. Come on Andy! Please don't lie down and take this. Chin up. Take it to him!

Hmmm rain delay. Not sure who this will benefit more. If Andy had won that second set (still gutted he didn''t!) I'd have said Fed, but this might just be what Andy needs now...
Evans didn't get away from Wiggins either. Happy sigh.

Ok Willser, Stroke City then. I really liked the place. Has a nice buzz to it.
Rodders & Rav would give you all the gen, to see in it and its surrounds.
This is a good Final. Love to see Murray win the next set. That would really make for a great one. If Fed wins it.... I think the Match would be all but up.
Believe!

Another great race today in the TdF. Hopefully Wiggins can open out a bit more of a time gap tomorrow.

Forget wombledon, the real action in Croke Park today - bleedin great to asee Galway hammer the Cats. God, Kilkenny supporters must be the smuggest, most arrogant bunch of gobshoites - was stuck in the middle of them during the Leinster final last year - so to see Galway destroy them is a joy. And also means we won't have to listen to the pompous outpourings from that gloomyguts Cody for the rest of the season.
Makes up for the Dub hurlers getting beat by Clare yday - mixed feelings on this as like most Dubs I am from rural stock with Clare blood coming from my ma.
Good stuff in the TdF too - but Wiggins is going to have put some time on Evans in the TT tomorrow if he's going to have any chance of reaching Paris in the yellow

Cari, was great game, Galway destrroyed Kilkenny in first half, 20 mins beforer KIlkenny got their first score and only got one point from play in first half. Kilkenny bounced back in second half but never got closer than 8 points. Canning was fantastic for Galway but they had lots of scorers including the 2, Kilkenny had no firepower other than Shefflin

Brenno - I can't wait to see TSG in the week to watch the highlights (there'll be loads). Seems weird having Galway in a Leinster final though...

Different class is Federer. Murray gave him a sniff and he took it. As soon as Federer got into his stride, he was unplayable.

It did, but then Murray was helped a bit by rain earlier in the tournament too wasn't he?
I like Murray a lot more, now he's shown some emotion.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
He's always shown emotion, he was in tears when he lost his first Australian Open too. Ah man I feel all flat and horrible now
v true about the roof benefiting Murray earlier in the tournament.

The roof helped Fed?
Naw, being a far superior player may have helped him too.
Great to see the effort and emotion from Murray. But, just like Heman, he doesnt have the killer-instinct. He had the chances early on, to go 2 sets up , but didnt take them. Feds last 2 points, to win the 2nd set, were a level above. That's what separates Champions from also-rans. Not a WUM. It just IS.

It is like that in every sport too Gibson. The champions just know how to grind out a win and not let the pressure get to them.

Fed definitely stepped it up, no doubt, but there is a huge difference in tennis in terms of playing outdoor or indoor

BILLY, great to 'see' you back in the pub
SWANNY, hope you had a great time in Llandudno (You would have reduced the average age by 40 !!)

Aye Willy..I'd suggest going to Belfast instead....
...actually its a pity she wasn't here for the clipper festival, finished up yesterday.
Obvious things I suppose are see the city walls, walk the peace bridge and into Ebrington square, look at the bogside murials etc....other than that don't get too excited .... actually Gibbo and Rava might be better people to ask.
for Andy Murray, for the Fed Express

What sort of places you like Willy?
Sandino's bar is ok for a few , Da Vincis hotel and the City hotel are friendly enough spots for some drinks but a bit of an older crowd maybe.
Food wise most of the city centre restaurants are ok, much a muchness. The Exchange, Mama Masalas, Quay West and Fitzroys are all ok.
Most places are all walking distance.

Sandino's could be the spot. Throw in a few lesser known facts about the walls, and boom I'm in there like swimwear.

Morning Asbo and Glas. of coffee please.
Hard luck for Murray yesterday. Federer is a true champion. Showed his class when it mattered. Murray was obviously disappointed but can be proud of his performance.

Bore da pawb / good morning all, I'll have a please.
Decent summary that, Rava. It's Andy Murray's bad luck that his career has coincided with the careers of some of the greatest players that ever picked up a racket. When Federer's on song, he's a joy to watch.
