The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Oxford - the new location for newly promoted London Welsh.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the montage of pictures of Lyn Jones above the bar.

Sorry As, went away after posting that. I'm in Limerick at the moment spending some time with the rents before I'm away again for another year.
Just back from a week of doing free football camps for kids in disadvantaged areas. Had 149 kids in an area less than half a football pitch

Ah I'll try not to. Freaking tiring though. Felt like I spent the whole time stopping fights. Right old multi cultural event, townies, travellers, 2nd generation Africans.
Then was at an event called Make A Move yesterday, celebrating Ireland's growing hip hop culture. There was a break dance comp and some new friends of mine were performing some of their raps and music.
It's a very different Ireland to the one I came to 16 years ago but that ain't a bad thing in the slightest.

You know more than most Rav. You know.
I am beaming at the minute. Proud of my little sis Veronica, for sorting it. Named after her Ma. I dont ask for much in this life, just that the family and people I love most, are happy and are cared for.
That feeds me like nothing else can.
Love you BTW. Thanks for being you, ya Ballymoney bollix.

100% agree Gibbo. Had a two-hour chat with my sister tonight (not actually that unusual for us, we can talk for the entire NH, never mind England!) and their planned house move has relocated with immediate effect. She has wanted to live in this area for yonks but never got round to it/thought it was impossible/etc etc. A bit of clarity in her thinking, and a push from me, and she's decided to go for it. My mum will be moving across here too and I am so pleased I could or burst!!
Really, really pleased you got the outcome you wanted Gibbo, I understand just what that means
For my little sis, corny but appropriate

Wavy-lines job. Where's Mulder?
Just been singing that, on SKYPE, with my scarey sisters. Its an old family tradition, when something goes right, or wrong even.
From de Dam to Bollington.
You want corny? I'll give you corny. But beautiful. X.

Wavy-lines indeed Gibbo! and a great tradition! And that is a beautiful song
I know they're only an hour away from me at the moment but, especially now sis has got kids, it'll be amazing to have them perhaps 10 minutes away! Visits won't be limited to weekends anymore. After 17 years away it'll be good to have them close by

Bore da pawb / good morning all, another beautiful summer's day here in the 'Port!
I started to watch that but I had to change channel. The Beeb once again f*cking up what should have been a brilliant programme by adding a load of deeply unnecessary and distracting camera effects. If the subject matter is good (and in this case it was great), you don't need any of that bullocks.

It's miserable isn't it, Rava? The forecast here is for dry and sunny weather on the weekend, but I wouldn't bet my coracle on it.
EDIT: I've just double-checked and it's west Wales that's forecast a sunny weekend (we're working in Carmarthenshire, so I did a weather check for the gang there). For Newport, they're forecasting rain from Thursday evening to early Sunday morning.

We are due in England for five days break starting Sunday. I really hope things pick up.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
Northern Ireland rainfall for June was 169.2mm. The average (taken between 1971-2000) is 72.6mm. This represents a 235% increase on the average for the month.
The highest previously was 152.6mm in 1912.
I would say the 72.6mm average isn't really accurate since we seem to have had a lot more rain in the summer over the past few years. Or am I imagining that?
Wales had more rain, 205mm but the % was around the same at 238%.

..... interesting....
The warmer ocean temperatures means theres a much greater cloud output from the atlantic, which means more rain in the summer and possibly heavy snow in the winter if we get high pressure from the NE.
Its a no brainer. Buy a raincoat and snowshovel.
