It reads like a good show. Gave up on TNA a while ago, but the results i've been reading the last few months sounds like it might be worth getting back into.

Anyone know when this is shown on UK tv?

Shocked to see Aries win, he could have looked very strong with a close defeat, now I wonder if TNA have given up on the long anticipated Roode v Storm title feud.

Maybe Storm will win the BFG series, with Roode regaining the title in the meantime.

The part of the whole Aries story I dont get is didnt Hogan say that he couldnt challenge for the World Title while X Division champion?
Yet I think both Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle held both titles at the same time so logic is lost there

Hulk had said he didn't want one guy holding all the belts, because it's bad for business brother.

I hope Storm doesn't win BFG Series, i can understand why he would but lets face it, him winning would be for sentimental reasons more than anything, and I don't see him being a great long term investment for the top.

Have to admit great to see Aries win the belt, been very impressed with him and Roode this past year you can easily put these two in the top 5 wrestlers of the year so far. I'm interested to see where they go from here now though. I could see Roode getting that belt back on thursday for some reason.

Didn't Angle and Joe hold both titles when the NWA Heavyweight Title was being used? Hogan is bad for business brother.

the decision to only allow someone to hold one title at a time is a good thing - the X-Division title has been given much more prestigiousness now and I think they should make Destination-X one of their big PPVs next year. I think it should be - Lock Down, Slammiversary, Destination-X and Bound for Glory.

I wish people wouldn't comment on stuff they know nothing about.

Paul Scholes - Angle was an Olympic champion, AJ is awesome in the ring, fro his size Samoa Joe is great, James Storm is brilliant in the ring, some of the high fliyers have more entertainment in them than anything WWE can offer. You are so naive it hurts!

Very decent looking pay per view, tna seam to making some very good booking decisions of late, it was obvious to all who no anything about pro wrestling that AA had world champion written all over him, from the way he carries himself, talks and performs in the ring. TNA have picked a great time to pull the trigger on him and the booking IMO was excellent having him vacate the x dvsision title was a good move and making it an annual event for the x division champ to make the same step up is a great idea. I know some people maybe dissapointed that the Roode/storm BFG title match may not happen but I don't think that match is completely necessary to get storm over, sure it would have concluded the fued and been a natural conclusion to how Roode won the belt but I still think that putting the strap on AA is the right thing to do, sometimes in wrestling you have to be reactive despite any long term plans that you may or may not have.

there is still time for a BFG main event between Roode and Storm. However, even if it doesn't happen I am confident the main event will continue to be booked intelligently. I have been really impressed by TNA this year and really believe they are a company with their creative head screwed on correctly. I look forward to what happens now with AA and Roode.

Really good PPV, incredible level of conscistency from top to bottom, only mild criticism is that X-Division wrestling just like chocolate can be too much of a good thing, I understand why they needed to get the qualifiers out of the way to give the guys a rest before the Ultimate X and the matches were all of a very high standard, but 5 X division matches in a row was a lot and did lessen the novelty value of some of the stuff they were doing, eg the first 6 matches all featured at least one plancha from the ring to the ramp, by the end I found myself comparing, plancha for plancha like an Olympic Diving judge, rather than admiring the death defying leaps of men putting their bodies on the line for my entertainment. Samoa Joe vs Angle was an excellent match which was to be expected and the Styles vs Daniels match was a brutal encounter that proved that no matter how silly the fued they are involved in is these guys are premier workers, and Daniels to give him his due is much underrated in the charisma department I would say. The Ultimate X was a great match, all 4 men gave it their all. Finally the main event between Aries and Roode, the match itself was superb, it built nicely and both men really told a story, one complaint about the match itself (and I don't know if other guys who have seen it or are going to watch it on challange tomorrow can confirm this for me) it seemed to lack tension for me, perhaps because I was so confident Bobby was going to retain. Which brings me onto the result, frankly I'm stunned, I've praised TNA on their logical slow burning approach to the Roode/Storm feud and well it's all gone now, I hear people saying Bobby could win the belt back but personally I feel it will have dented some of his aura to have been unseated previously, don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of Aries, he's a worthy world champion, and I'm willing to give TNA's booking team a chance, it just seems a very left-field result considering the match people were expecting at BFG.

Agree I don't see Roode beating Aries which is why I see Roode costing Storm something. Either the BFG series or his eventual title shot. This then reignites that feud.

probley needed to a suprise as it seems it was too obvious that it would be Storm Vs Roode at BFG for the title. Aslo good to see Samoa Joe getting a push

I think sometimes wrestling bookers are too obsessed with trying to surprise people.

Could we have a storm heel turn and a reuniting of Beer money in some form?

Unlikely but just maybe!

I reckon Aries to retain at the next PPV before a triple threat at BFG with Storm pinning Roode keeping Aries strong.

I am surprised about Aries winning... personally I would have had Roode get DQ'd here before facing Aries at the next PPV and getting a cheats victory and then a triple threat at BFG getting pinned and losing the title.

I am, I'm wondering why they didn't let Rubix win the opening match seeing as he was the crowds choice, still looking forward to some good fast paced matches. Shame it's full of indy guys no one really cares about.

The show is excellent, the crowd though are a disgrace for the most part, they're getting a great show and they're draining the atmosphere clean out of the building.

It says a lot about the show when the only criticsms I have that there were perhaps too many high quality X Division matches in a row and perhaps the most popular and talented wrestler in the company won the title

Thought this was a damn fine effort from TNA, really enjoyed the paper view.

Only concern is the same as the good Doctor's, namely where does Austin Aries' title win leave James Storm? They've done a great job building up 'The Cowboy' but even if he does face Bobby Roode at BFG for the title, some of the sheen will be taken off his win due to Aries already defeating Roode. This is nothing against Austin Aries, I'm a huge fan of his and he deserves a shot at main eventing but it feels almost like TNA are trying to use Aries as their version of CM Punk or Bryan Danielson; "Hey we've got a small indie guy as World champ too!"

Having said that, I've jumped the gun before with TNA (namely Roode not winning at BFG 2011) so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time and see where they're headed.

One of the best shows I've seen...arguably THE best.

I'm glad to see TNA have invested time and effort in rebuilding the X Division. Never heard of any of the new guys, barring Sonjay Dutt, but they all look very capable. Ion winning the belt was kinda predictable, given Jesse Sorensen's impending comback, but Ultimate X was a great spectacle nonetheless.

The Styles / Daniels fight was simply epic. I've never seen wrestlers bleed that much (still a relative newbie and missed the Lockdown cage matches). Not sure where they can go from there story-wise...guess there is still the issue of confirming whether Styles really is the father of Claire's child. Not that I'm too bothered, but it gives the feud a little more scope to continue.

Had mixed feeling about Aries' title win. On one hand I was chuffed as he is arguably the best all-round talent on TNA's roster (I'm a total mark, can you tell?) and deserves a run with the main title. On the other hand it left me wondering where the Roode / Storm feud is going.

I suppose the good thing is that any number of things could happen between now and the climax of BFG, involving Roode, Storm and Aries.

As for the comments about Roode, I'd say he has demonstrated plenty of wrestling ability, both during his tag team days with Beer Money and as heavyweight champ. Its just that during his WHC title reign he has simply been playing up his heel character. One the one hand its been a bit predictable at times, (knowing he would win), but its also been interesting to see how he got the wins each time and what new lows he would sink to.

I'll be interested to see if his character changes now he's no longer champion.

There is a lot less blading around than previously... if you want to see a really strong example then go on Youtube and search for the JBL / Eddie Guerrero match from Judgment Day a few years ago. Eddie is really busted open. Or anything involving Flair or Mick Foley! Smile

The JBL/Guerrero one was an accident though, that wasn't blading, it was a mistake.

I think there is still alot of prejudice towards TNA by many WWE fans and some hypocrisy by the IWC (not on this board but in America) who love to bitch and winge and then fail to support TNA when they do things right. Destination X is a perfect example of TNA getting it right booking wise and yet some fans are so fairweather that they just stream PPVs. I definitely would have paid for Slammiversary and Destination X had they been on Sky Box Office.

I'm glad though that TNA are going about expanding the company in the right way. They're no longer trying to beat WWE in a ratings war and are focussing on increasing the amount of house shows they play, expanding overseas and creating logical yet popular booking decisions. They are doing everything right imo so hopefully it will only be a matter of time before the fans they earn through paying their dues reward them in PPV buys.
