Iron Mike Tyson.. has to be the man who made Boxing a Sport that enthralled the public.... Never mind
Larry Holmes he is todays Klitschko good but a tad dull..A young Mike Tyson would have beat the 3 of them in a single year
Dont give me Marciano, Tunney, Johnson,Baer, nonsence he would have beat them 4 in a single year too... Ali, Foreman, Frazier and Liston.. they are the sort of fights dreams are made of.. for me Ali beats him.. So if you around 40 tell the truth Tyson got you hooked on Boxing he was the King Kong, he was the Baddest Man on Earth..And Lord know we need another one right now...

Was thanking my lucky stars that Shah, Fight News, Shantel Jacksons boyfrie nd and Tysonkings hadn't come across (or in that muppet Shantel's case banned).

Quite possibly the most retarded, unpleasant, vile and pathetic wums we ever had to deal with. See Shantel is still claiming he wasn't banned on the old 606, someone go and inform him that he said he was taking a break and then had his account deleted when he tried to come back.

As for the article, give me a break. Tyson gets annhialated by every single fighter you've mentioned. Marciano would've dropped him inside 2 and that would've been that.

And no, we don't need another hype job who had a 2 year "prime". What we need in exciting HW fight and we've got one. Christ alive ffs. Tosh.

Don't think Shah could change his ways enough to last more than two minutes on here, coxy! Made me laugh when I saw Shanel over on the old 606 asking why he'd been banned from here - regardless of what he's posted, I'd have thought that a fully grown man pretending to be a world champion boxer who he's never met would be reason enough!

Tysonkings or something very similar to him seems to have emerged now, and as for Fight News, well as much as people will disagree I didn't mind him all that much, clearly a bright fella and knew what he was doing pushing everyone's buttons. Knew his boxing in fairness though, too, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was amongst us on here in a less 'WUMMY' guise.

No, Tyson didn't make me 'glad' until he got sparked by Douglas, and then brutalised by Holyfield (twice), Lewis, Williams etc

Fought at a time of poor, poor heavyweights. Only rivalled by now.

And Tyson with that dodgy chin of his would've been knocked the effing hell out by Marciano. Deal with it. Move on.

Regardless of who beats who the author of the topic is right that it was a fantastic time to be around and I witnessed the rise and fall of Tyson. Though I'm not yet 40. Wink

I honestly couldn't stand the guy at the time as I knew what he was going to do to poor old Bruno. In recent years I've come to appreciate the excitement and skills of Tyson. Great, Great fighter.

Not sure why people say he had a bad chin - it was very good. I also believe he'd have given an 185lbs Marciano the whupping of his life.

I'm 38 Windy so pretty much quality and I have to say I far from love Tyson, enjoyed watching him in the ring but find most of his actions outside it absolutely repugnant. And windy who are you trying to kid with mid 50's

Tyson had a good chin, you couldn't take him out in single punches, and took a lot of punishment from Holyfield.... Buster Douglas had him going a few times before taking him out, and there wasn't many guys that could have taken the uppercut that Tyson took to spark off the assault that ended it... And yes I'm only 19 - But love Boxing Smile

Congrats Chris , I'm only 26 but look and feel 40, and chris, thats partially down to the kids. Tyson definitely got me intersted in boxing mainly due to my dad's books and the old cavendish boxers series which was out on vhs, lying about the house, in his prime he would give anybody a run their money, but after gaining knowledge about other fighters throughtout history i feel he would have come up short on many occasions, it's easy to kick a man when he is down but Tyson only has himself to blame, he brought a lot of positive publicity to the sport in the 80's which may have been lacking otherwise.
