The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Antananarivo Arms, Madagascar
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Antananarivo Arms Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Madagascar, where 35,000 raucous fans recently watched the home side upset Namibia in a 110-point thriller.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of the Madagascan team war dance, Japan/NRL-bound Sonny-Bill Williams, Bradley Wiggins and the prematurely-retired Mark Boucher above the bar.

That the guy with the moustache? What title did he win? Sure he was only on the Haye undercard? Bernard Dunne was fighting on RTE.

One thing about Scrubs. They always got their music spot on whether it was for comedy or dramatic effect.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Antananarivo Arms, Madagascar
Yeah, he won the WBO international Middleweight title. He holds Irish BUI Middleweight and American ABO Light-Middleweight belts too. 15 fights, 15 wins, 9 knockouts. He is climbing up the rankings well. Might have his title defence in Turner's Corss (home of Cork City FC) and if he gets a shot at a bigger one he hopes to have it in Cork. If he were a Dub I think RTE would be all over his jock. He had shamrock shaved into his head previously but he didn't on Saturday. Great guy.
Also Scrubs is a very good show, started watching it recentyly, have only seen the first season or so but quite good.

WBO international title is not a world title.
Bernard Dunne was WBA world champ, there's no comparison between the two achievements and the level they were fighting at.

My advice would be to enjoy up until the third season. After that it just gets silly.

WBO is world boxing organisation is it not? Technically it is a world title. I never mentioned Bernard Dunne, don't know why you brought him up. This guy deserves soem attention, for his pro career so far, he has done pretty well in only 15 fights, he is on the rise.

WBO is the least credible of the 4 major boxing organisations and the international title isn't the same as the world title, its one of those new stepping stone belts. It would be below British/European/commonwealth level.
Not knocking the bloke, good luck to him..great to see Irish fighters do well but he's not a World champion, yet.
Isn't he trained by Steve Collins?

He actually won the WBO INTERNATIONAL Title, not the World title, still a very good achievement The WBO have North American, Lationo, Oriental, Asia-Pacific, European-international ...etc
RANKINGS
The current WBO WORLD Champion at middleweight is Dmitry Pirog (Russia) who has 20 wins from 20 fights (15 ko)

So I did, this guy deserves more crddit though, as does Lee who is getting overshadowed a bit. He deserves some attention, although Lee did lose recently and is boxing mainly in America. Lee would be closer to hitting the big heights. Spike is on his way up though, fingers crossed he defends his title in Cork.
Appears I have got the wrong end of the stick on this one, made myself look like a right knobhead apologies.
Trained by brother of Steve and Roddy (not a boxer but reasonably famous) Collins, Paschal.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Antananarivo Arms, Madagascar
Boxing is stupid these days with all these silly titles Thomond, don't know what half of them are myself.... easy mistake to make.
Certainly a good win away from home and deserves some credit, but as you can see from the rankings he's someway off world level hence it hasn't generated much publicity.
It not because hes from Cork.... ....

Some of it is Rodders, the big shmoke guys generate all the publicity in individual sports. Andy Lee gets feic all either and he isn't a Corkonian.
I think Spike will rise up the ranks a bit and we will see him defending and going for more belts in a few years .Hopfully in Pairc Uí Chaoimh. Another promising Cork/Cuban boxer is Mike El Rebellio Perez. He is a heavyweight so is a while from making waves. But 18 wins of 18 fights, 12 KOs is a good start.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Antananarivo Arms, Madagascar
Afternoon all.
Sadly when my work PC was upgraded to Windows7 last week IT failed to install Flash. And I can't install it myself without an Admin password. So no youtube for me
Spotted a great typo down in the work cafe at lunch. They have a little board with this month's specials on it, and in keeping with the Olympics they're doing a couple of national "theme" days each week. They lited the countries on a card, with a flag beside each. So at some point we're having a British day, an Argentine day, a Spanish day, a Bulgarian day (?), etc. Except that on one line thay have a New Zealand flag, with "Spain" printed next to it (the Spanish flag and "Spain" appear further down).
Here's hoping there's a roast lamb lunch with pavlova dessert coming next week

I didn't realise there was more than one spelling of yoghurt. Question is how do you pronounce it: Yo-girt or Yah-gurt?

Yog like 'bog' and then the 'ut' of 'gut'. That's how I'd say it.
Steve Wright is playing 'Boys Boys Boys' by Sabrina, a total blast from the past. I remember the video for that, it featured Sabrina and plenty of other women in a swimming pool bouncing around in bikinis. My mum was not impressed when that came on Top of the Pops. Funnily enough, she didn't approve of the video for Motley Crue's 'Girls Girls Girls' either.

Boys Boys Boys - what a video. I was at a party last weekend and that was on the music channel!!
Luckless in the video the bikins are WAY too small and they are literally spilling out of them!!

I was only saying on another thread, I was googling "le H Cup Photos" for the logo they use in France due to no alcohol advertising in the Heinken Cup.
I was instead greeted with photos of busty ladies (cupsize H)!! Made for awkward explaining to colleagues at work.

Hi.
Knocked the Cork trip on the head now. Going to go to a music festival with my wife instead. There's not much interest from the supporters in going to Cork, due to Biarritz in Aug and the trip to Bayonne.
