Why on earth not?

You've got a good side and you put effort in to your tactics each week, you deserved a point.

As promised, here are the reasons for the results in the Championship....

CHAMPIONSHIP VOTES WEEK 7

----------------------------------------------

Straight Edge United 2-2 Athletico Bilbao Baggins

Go Ahead Eaaaagles 1-2 Jacamos United

Substandard Liege 1-1 Treble's Revenge

Hangover 69 vs City of Norwich FC - default win to Hangover 69 FC

im off to wales very soon so no reasons today

---------------------------------------------------

Straight Edge United v Athletic Bilbao Baggins - SEU improving on a weekly basis, I feel Gotze, Eriksen and Rodriguez are superior to Cuence, VDV and Giovinco and it means that despite De Jong and Yaya Toure, SEU are the ones creating the better chances. Defensively, Richards at CB is a little suspect for me, and while Lugano and Godin aren't the most mobile, they do well to limit Higuain. Higuain upfront for Baggins was his ruthless self, but Klose rolls back the years and is the match winner today.
Straight Edge United 2-1 Athletic Bilbao Baggins
(Klose x2) (Higuain)

Treble's Revenge v Substandard Liege - Both team very well matched for the majority, I don't like how Milner is used as a RW when he's too defensively minded and isn't really able to get into the game for me. Treble's have the firepower to trouble the Liege defence as Dzagoev, Muller and Welbeck are too much for Toure, Jagielka and Medel (despite his heroics marking Messi once upon a time) and it gives them the win.
Treble's Revenge 2-1 Substandard Liege
(Welbeck, Dzagoev) (Honda)

Go Ahead Eaaagles v Jacamos United - Jacamos United, strong in defence and midfield, but I feel with Gerrard as the AM and the out of form Young at RW, Jacamos weren't able to make the most of their high possession count. Eagles were unable to really break down Jacamos when they had the chance and it made for a dull game, goalless until Soldado steals the win by taking one of his very few chances. Negredo wasteful at the other end.
Go Ahead Eaaagles 1-0 Jacamos United
(Soldado)

Hangover 69 v City of Norwich - Default 2-0 win for Hangover 69

------------------------------------------------------

Substandard Liege 1-1 Treble's Revenge
Jelavic--------------------Dzogaev
Treble worked very hard to match the talented Liege and for most of the game were defensive, Welbeck worked very hard but he was not getting service. It was the sub later on in the game that got Trebles a point when they attacked Liege and pushed forward. I feel Liege could can improve on thier wide players and they will be much more of a force and can kill teams off.

Hangover 69 3-0 City of Norwich FC
AUTO WIN FOR HANGOVER NO TACTICS FROM NORWICH AGAIN NEW MANAGER NEEDED NOW

Straight Edge United 0-2 Athletico Bilbao Baggins
------------------------------Giovinco
------------------------------VDV (Freekick)
This was a very simple and easy win for Bilbao, Straight Edge put up a lot of writing but how much of that was tactical? Too much about not making mistakes rather then instructing players. Bilbao were 100% ready and left nothing to chance and controlled the game from start to finish, Edge had a few long range shots but nothing to really cause Bilbao problems.

Go Ahead Eaaaagles 0-2 Jacamos United
------------------------------Muniain
------------------------------Young
I can't see this formation working for Go Ahead because thier defence as a unit is not quick enough to play so high up the pitch. Too much was expected from Turan and Walcott and they didn't get going attacking wise and had too make up to much length defenively. Jacamos were very sound and had the balance to deal with Eagles stoppping them getting forward and neatralising thier wingers.

-----------------------------------------------------

Hangover 69 vs City of Norwich FC - Default win for Hangover 69

Treble's Revenge 1 vs 1 Substandard Liege
Scorers: Jelavic
Welbeck
Feedback: These are two very evenly matched teams, with the same formation and similar tactics. I really can't see anything but a draw here, so have to go with goals from Jelavic and Welbeck in what has draw written all over it.

Jacamos United 4 vs 3 Go Ahead Eagles
Scorers: Martinez, Gerrard x2, Negredo
Walcott, Soldado, Dembele
Feedback: This is a real cracker of a contest. Eagles really go for it from the off, and it becomes a very open game. I just see Jacamos edging it due to there better quality, and the lack of defence on the Eagles wing. However Jacamos's wingers were distracted for most of the game. Seemed to be humming some sort of Plan B song to themselves.

Athletico Bilbao Baggins 3 vs 1 Straight Edge United
Scorers: Higuain, VDV, Toure
Eriksen
Feedback: These two teams play similar formations, however Baggins have the clearer instructions and better ones. Also they have a bit more quality, and they run out comfortable winners. It was unlucky that United had Moutinho injured, as he would have made a difference for them today

-------------------------------------------------------

Treble's Revenge 2-2 Substandard Liege
What an excellent match up and the two managers have exactly the same ideas about how they want to play. I see an enthralling contest and even in being shut out of the game, Xavi's influence is huge. I reckon it will be good for a couple of goals and a draw is fair. Substandard look a couple of players away from being a top side.

Go Ahead Eaaagles 1-1 Jacamo's United
Extraordinary tactics from Eagles, sort of a Bielsa-esque model. In practice I wonder how it would play out, but I reckon they have the players to make it work to an extent. Jacamo's are set up as usual, but I reckon they may find it difficult to break Eagles down. One thing they lack is a 'fantasy' AM to win games like this.

Straight Edge United 0-2 Athletico Bilbao Baggins
Bull, let me be honest; every other word in your tactics felt like it was 'mistake' and it doesn't feel like what you are saying to your players is giving them a tactical remit. It seems more like they are just statements of things they already will do. You have a good side, but you need to give them more direction to pick up wins. Baggins are a good side although looking a little weaker in the front 4 without Cazorla and I think if this area is strengthened they will be greatly difficult to stop.

Hangover 69 get a default win

------------------------------------------------------

TR 0vs0 SL
Both teams really match each other and i can see no clear winner, SL probably ahvethe better of the game but not enough to win

BB 1vs0 SEU
Higuain
Both teams are hard to break down but baggins stronger defence sees them hold out, while SEU’s cant against a very strong Baggins attack

JU 2vs1 GAE
Munain,Young----Dembele
feel that young and munain expect FBs there arnt any, they take advantage, find thay have a lot of success against a very narrow formation for GAE. And that wallcott and turan have no success and srna or lahm, however dembele scores a 30 yarder to give GAE a goal.

I'd quite like to know how a team that used exactly the same tactics apart from one player who wasn't as good as the guy he was replacing was considered to be improving on a weekly basis.

Hero, I said that. Bull is improving weekly on his tactics (by which I mean instructions), still plenty of work to be done but improvement nonetheless. Doesn't always mean in terms of personnel.

And his AM's > your AM's.

I voted Bull with the upset win as his extra and noticeable (at least to me as a weekly voter) effort was rewarded. You still won, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Depending on your package, it can be as little as £85. But I went with the whole shabang that gives me all the games each week, all the playoff games and I can watch on my phone too.

It was £140 but I paid in 4 installments of £35 each.

It is extremely good value. But I would rather spend my monies elsewhere, plus need to save for car stuff. Also my dad (hopefully) might have Sky by then so it would become a bit pointless

Never buy from Carcraft.

That's my only advice relating to cars.

Apart from that you should definitely get AA cover or similar. You never know how close you are to being screwed....

AC ALSOAM vs Viva City

A hard fought match between two very evenly matched sides, I feel AC ALSOAM would have just edged it as Ade has one of those days and scores a cracker late on. Goals from Hulk and Pirlo (freekick from Pirlo as Marky can't mark that!) had sent the match towards a draw but Ade's introduction proved too much for Lescott and Cissoko as he got on the end of a cross from Hulk.

The London Silly Nannies vs FC United

A game of two halves with a very close first half (with FC United taking the lead through Neymar) showing how well matched the teams were. However as the game went on the mastery of Ozil came into play as he scored before setting up Ramires and then Benzema to grab the three points for the Silly Nannies.

Barearselona FC vs Borussia Munchingballsack

Default to Barearselona and I feel that they have a really good balance to their side this week.

Holton FC vs Real Ale Sociedad

The power of the midfield of Real Ale was far too much in the end despite a valiant performance from Holton. Going three in the middle was a great move from Olly but it left Hazard and Pod to control the flanks. Some great goals given the players on display with Bent, Hazard and Arteta scoring for Real and Cisse nabbing a brace for Holton.

FC united - LSN

LSN dominate the game from the off and have Cherry on the back foot but the familiarity and communication of the Brazilian setup they somehow hold them at bay and get a goal through thewingers attacking with speed. The goal was United's downfall though as the confidence boost then had hardworking turn into showboating which resulted in 2 costly errors in quick succession through the skills of Ozil.

AC ALSOAM - Viva City

Whilst Asamoah will be a star I don't believe he can do a job on Pirlo and keep him at bay for 90 minutes and it's through Pirlo that Viva take the lead with a great
ball to Valencia using his speed to beat his man, Hulk though gets the equaliser in a big physical battle with Cissoko due to a dubious penalty.

Holton - Real Ale

Fantastic game between two really top quality sides, Olly has transformed his team and deserves the plaudits for it, I see Ollys midfield just having the numbers game and the hunger for it more with Lucas giving M'Vila a torrid time.

AC ALSOAM vs Viva City

With Pirlo kept quiet VIVA have lost their ability to create in the centre of the park. Even with Asamoah main duties ALSOAM have too much quality in their midfield to over power VIVA. Bale and Hulk are a constant threat down the wings. Tevez is a menace constantly getting at their centre backs.

The London Silly Nannies vs FC United

Withboth Puyol and Sakho primary focus on marking Neymar out the game, Costa has the ability to get away from Sandro who switches off and loses him. FCU wingers break away from being tightly marked and supply dangerous crosses against a distracted centre back pairing. Other than afew counter attacks FC United shut up shop and without the space to play in Ozil can’t create for the rest of the game.

AFC Swamp Donkeys vs Borussia Munchingballsack

Default win.

Cunning Canaries vs Real Ale Sociedad

A quiet game, Holston defensive setup nullifies the Real Ale attack and it’s a quiet game for both teams. Both teams have their chances but neither take them and the fans go home disappointed.

AC ALSOAM - Viva City

Asamoah followed Pirlo, so Pirlo took him out wide, which took both out of the game and left Schwein and Khedira v Valbuena and Zanetti, which the former won
easily. All contests out wide were evenly matched, so winning the midfield battle was crucial for AC, and Tevez then proved too much for Barzagli

The London Silly Nannies - FC United

United played a tactically superb game (well, how I deciphered how it was written). LSN players were comfortable on the ball and FCU let them have it, and soaked up the pressure. When they got it, whilst LSN players are no slouches, FCU have blistering pace and they played the counter attacking game perfectly.

AFC Swamp Donkeys vs Borussia Munchingballsack - default win as no Munchin tactics

Cunning Canaries - Real Ale Sociedad

A real battle in the middle with what seemed like 25 player occupying the central positions. Canaries managed to negate the threat from the Real Ale CMs throguh sheer weight of numbers, but with the WB encouraged to defend first, and CMs encouraged to help the defence, they were left with Lucas and Cisse very isolated. The ball came too many times and Real Ale just have too much pace, movement and overall class in their front three and creative midfielders to hold out for 90 minutes, and two late goals won it for them. I really like the balance to Real Ale's side

AC ALSOAM vs Viva City

fair result in the end though with both sides getting a point

The London Silly Nannies vs FC United

FCU took an early lead but Ozil had a great game managed to pull one back and score in the final minutes.

AFC Swamp Donkeys vs Borussia Munchingballsack
Default win

Cunning Canaries vs Real Ale Sociedad

good game both sides created chances but in the end a draw was the fair result.

Yes I was happy. It was my aim to shut him down, and to try and nick something on the break. Am happy that people see my team is improving, and I hope I can continue to improve (and finish ahead of Cherries boxing )

I think as well this week it shows that people are reading tactics as there are quite a few that take on board little mentions of things.

My first ever match in a league like this was an Everton defeat against Viva's Roma in the Furious League. Now I've come full circle, getting a win against Viva's very good side, probably my most important win yet.
