Well chuffed with that, great shot from Haye to end it. Like others have said, bring on vitali in november. Probably the last fight for both unless haye wins and wants a rematch with vlad

I wish Haye would tone down the rhetoric, give boxing a little more respect.

Gotta give it to Haye this is his first decent performance at heavy - might tempt vitali if he loses his election

Gonna be plenty ready to rubbish Chisora's performance in a bid to avoid giving Haye any credit....you know who you are!!!

Yep, a fair few people picking Chisora to take Haye and wear him down.

Chisora gave it as good as he had and it was pretty decent but not enough. Live opponent so for the first time through his HW career no critcism from me

Warrens just said that Nathan Cleverly will have a "Massive" fight that will be announced tonight...
David Price is gonna be on BoxNation it seems.

I said before the fight it was a mismatch. Over in 4 was it?
How many is that Del has lost in his last five fights?
This fight was about making money, it was never going to be a proper competitive matchup.

Clev v Bellew II and Price in the stable. not a bad week for ol Froggy. Plus the millions he would have made tonight. And the few thousand one month subs he got Boxnation tonight. If he is smart eh wil make Boxnation the best it can be for the next month to entice these new subs to stay.

David Price signing for Frank is expected but a very good signing imo.
Massive fight for Cleverly.... Surely gotta be Hopkins

Frank gambled everything on this and it cane good. He' also got price and maybe Haye, tentatively and that deal with GBP...Boxnation might be here to stay.
Re: Super Mega Unbelievable Haye Vs. Chisora Official Live Hype Thread!! (Spoilers)
Haye made it a mismatch. Chisora is a live opponent just challenging for the world title. So what if he lost 3 of his last 5 fights (Helenius was a robbery).

If Dawson can't do it. Clev can't do it. ONLY fathertime can get Bhop ko'd. The last version of Bhop we see would spoil Clev with old skool tricks

One was out of shape, one was a robbery the other was Vitali, no shame in any of those (Except entering the ring out of shape) Chisora gives nearly every HW a tough fight, even gave Vitali a good run, Haye finished him spectacularly, but was really having to dig in and fight, if that had gone a few more rounds you could see the pace was beggining to get to Haye a bit.

I think he might just out work Hopkins over the distance if it was too happen.
Though I think Seans shout of Clev v Bellew 2 might be closer to the mark knowing Warren

I don't mean stop him I mean nick a scrappy points win by just pure and simple outworking him, I actually think the fights up in the air, Hopkins has slowed down without a doubt and was gassing a bit at a medium paced fight against Pascal towards the end, I think Clev has a decent chance, but could get bamboozled by Hopkins.

Some heavyweight international belts or something like that. Didn't even know they were fighting for belts until the end.

Translation: Hopkins would ruin the entertainment potential of the fight by hugging, falling on the canvas and crying foul every time his opponent landed half a punch. He needs to retire, and Cleverly needs to fight a REAL opponent. Warren's idea of a 'big' fight or Clev would be Clev vs the bin men's team leader, not the bin men.

It was a competitive matchup. Chisora was about 800lbs against Fury, he should have won the Helenius fight, and lost to one of the top two in the division, while taking him the distance. Sure this fight was all about making money, but only an idiot would expect that to not play a part. He was in reasonable shape tonight, he has a good chin, and has a relentless, swarming style that many felt would be Haye's undoing. Slate Haye and attempt to denigrate Chisora all you like, but tonight Haye effectively demolished a guy who looked pretty decent as a fifteen-fight relative novice vs Vitali.

I called it right tonight. Del is a domestic, maybe Euro, level fighter.
I don't like Haye because he is so disingenuous. His lack of self awareness borders on the delusional. He really is unpleasant and he has demonstrated this repeatedly over the years.
You on the other hand are a wet behind the ears little preppy boy who talks big on the web box.

I enjoyed it, good fight, it could have gone either way. Haye looked like he could tire the later the fight went on then bang, bang, bang, bang. Game over. A good stoppage and Haye now has a good claim to fight Vitalli. I reckon Frank can arrange that for him.

Re: Super Mega Unbelievable Haye Vs. Chisora Official Live Hype Thread!! (Spoilers)
Good little fight while it lasted.
Too many bought into the hype that del boy had a chance...give the lad plaudits as he more often than not has a go but as is normal in boxing class shows...
Haye is a fair few levels above Derek...and I would say above anything else at Heavyweight (except the Klits of course).
Strongback - Haye sells fights...his chat is for that purpose. He showed with his comments regards Chisora after the fight and his general behaviour following that he is no where near the idiot some think he is. ...
Of course going about promoting himself and fights the way doesn't help but people need to seperate the boxer from the person.
No one else in the last 10 years of Heavyweight boxing has been able to drum up the interest he has....and it shows in the money he has taken.
Say what you want about him...the man is bloody clever and in an era of pretty average pay packets up in the 'main' division of boxing he has made himself and his opponents a wedge that they could only dream about if he wasn't around.
I said it on another thread...in person Haye is one of the nicest chaps about. Very modest (to the point I was shocked) about what he has accomplished. If i was him i would be crowing to the world!!
I dont think Vitali will fight him...out of the two brothers I always thought Haye had a much better chance against Vitali...and if they were to meet I would put my money on David stopping him.
Would love to see the fight but realistically I think this fight brings down the curtains on his career.

I love it when people come to my way of thinking. I've been banging on for eons that Haye would beat Vitali (never Wlad) and now more believers are coming round to my way of thinking. Vit is slow and easy to hit. Only problem is his height.
Guys like Strongy do not understand the business of self promotion to sell fights. In this day of multiple sports competing for customers, guys have to reach out to get noticed. Haye does that brilliantly.
Oh by the way, Rocky was crap.

Owen, I don't buy Haye's nice guy routine. When it's gets ugly Haye is uglier than anyone else. He set the bar very low. When he sat on BBC Breakfast after losing practically every round to Wlad he made every excuse under the sun. When the pressure is on and a person is facing a testing time the real person shows. What I saw in Haye is ugly to the core.
The fight was never evenly matched as you say. Del is a league below.
Personally my only wish would have been for Wlad to bash Haye up a bit given he was so dominant. Vitali may never fight Haye. Vitali has done enough and deserves to retire a champ and not lose as an old man.

He's arguably Euro/fringe world level, but whichever way you try and angle it, Haye put Chisora on his arse twice and stopped him in less than half the rounds Vitali spent punching Chisora in the face. In this instance it's the manner of the victory which is the important factor.
I don't like Haye because he is so disingenuous. His lack of self awareness borders on the delusional. He really is unpleasant and he has demonstrated this repeatedly over the years.
If you can't see past the talk and the bluster and see that Haye is doing nothing other than ensuring he's talked about, thereby securing himself bigger paycheques in the future, then it's you who's lacking the awareness. Haye is undeniably transparent: he's selling fights.

I don't remember Oscar getting too involved in the rubbish Haye did and few have made more money than Oscar.
The thing about Hayes self promotion is that it was tactless, tasteless, amateur in execution and wouldn't have made a ripple if there were a few decent heavyweights at this time. Haye didn't need to be so ugly. He would have fought his way to Wlad very quickly anyway.

In a nutshell, Haye is not humble and Vitali should retire because Haye may beat him and its bad for him to lose to a loudmouth! That is the crux of your argument. Pathetic I have to say.

Re: Super Mega Unbelievable Haye Vs. Chisora Official Live Hype Thread!! (Spoilers)
Strongback - Agreed he did indeed but then again he had lost a heck of alot of pride given what he said in the build up to the fight. I know when I lose im immediatly quite defensive and most certainly can use excuses in the aftermath.
But you cant purely judge him on stuff like that and not look at other things he says....did you miss the build up to this fight?...If you go back and watch some of it you will see Haye admitting that his toe excuse was poor and that he never delivered on the night etc.
You can have your opinion on what you think of him of course...but dont just weight up one side of the argument.
In recent times where boxers have used loaded gloves....stepped into the ring with the use of PED's etc....David Haye and what he has said comes in very low on the 'ugly chart' in comparison.
Like I said the man can be an absolute clown and some of the outlandish stuff he says is both ugly and cringe....but as far as im concerned and from what I have seen in person...it's a facade to sell fights.
It's funny that we judge boxers so quickly and are quick to lament poor/violent behaviour.....yet if you step back you would realise you are a fan of the sport...and that sport is BOXING!!!....Given the type of characters who choose boxing as a way of life it makes me laugh that people expect so much from them all the time...
As for your comment about evenly matched....Im pretty sure i didnt say it was...
In fact I said class shows and that people had bought into the hype that Del Boy actually had a chance. I have said in plenty of threads in the build up that Haye is in another league to Derek.....Read my posts better in future...or if you cannot be bothered to read them then dont bother posting about them!
And if Haye had come into the a dying division all timid and pleasent much like Vitali and Wlad then it would still be of no interest to anyone. As it was he brought casual fans back to the division in droves....made everyone a ton of money and got the division its best exposure since Lennox Lewis....

Haye is selling a fight by getting his toe out is he?
What about bashing someone over the head with a tripod, was that calculated to sell a fight?
Would you lift a object in a pub and bash someone over the head with it? I wouldn't.
Haye is bad taste.
Watch Haye on YouTube describe with glee knocking guys out in a nightclub fight.
I trained in the gym with national champs and none and I mean none of them threw a punch outside the ring. They had too much respect for the sport and themselves.

Oscar was heavily promoted as the golden boy when he turned pro. Arum gave him that name. He was marketed as a good looking latino to the female population and he played that role perfectly. Going so far as dressing up as one.
But don't forget some of the vile things Oscar said to Pernell before they fought. I believe it was "African American boxers don't like taking body punches".
Haye's banter may be as you described but its having the desired effect. Maybe you are too aloof and prefer gentlemanly chit chats prior to the pugilistic endeavour occurs what what?

Try separating the private and public person. Haye is a credit to boxing.

Strongback - How many of the national champs had had another fighter approach them in a threatning manner getting up in their face saying obscenties....
Im not a fan of what Haye did by any stretch of the imagination...but your seriously expecting a guy who not only had a few to drink but is by nature is a physical lad...and a boxer to not look after himself if he feels threatened...
If so you are incredibly naive.

I agreed with you that the fight was never evenly matched.
I don't believe the casual fan is that enamoured by Haye. He has burned them with the Audley and Wlad fights after all. Haye has not made the impact or money Ricky Hatton did who used the cheeky chappy routine to much better effect than any of the promotional tools Haye has used.

As someone who backed Chisora I'm quite glad to say well done David Haye. A good fight but nobody else has made beating Chisora look in any way easy.
Inexperience showed I think, Derek's half of the fight was the second half, but in the fifth he was at times looking dejecting with body language like resting his elbow over the rope. He started getting wreckless in the fifth. I didn't think he'd be wiped out like that though, I was expecting a ref stoppage if any. Great, short, explosive shots from Haye. Derek really needs to shorten his punches.
