The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Bridgend
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Dew Drop Inn, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in Bridgend, the birthplace of ex Wales and Lions centre Dr. Jack Matthews, who has sadly passed away.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Dr Jack Matthews and his Welsh centres partner Bleddyn Williams.

Mephedrone is miaow-miaow, recreational stimulant. Methadone is the replacement for heroin with fewer nasty side-effects. I though glas was making a mephedrone reference.

Evening Ozzy
I had to play goal shoot tonight, had a shocker and missed my first 5 shots, and about 9 misses all up. Painful considering the final score was 12-12. We really should have won that one comfortably

Better than it was Rory. Less pain and more movement, so can't complain really, 99% certain no op required, just rest, steroid injections, anti inflamatories and then physio.

You just looking for work in clogland or anywhere you can find it?
Am gutted I can't make the Chef's bash once again this year, really wanted to go, but the old girls 60th celebrations are going on longer than anticipated. Ah well, always next year!

That Glas. Hes a card. Makes a lot of references and lets you decide which one to discuss.
BTW Ozzy, your post to Glas last week, had me in tears. You know the one. Solicitors and drugs?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Bridgend
Interesting, all this stuff about sports training supplements etc. When I did my own training (yonks ago admittedly) it was a bit of muscle work, bullworker, push ups, squat thrusts etc. for about 15-20 minutes indoors. Then a cold shower and then I would run two miles as quickly as possible to build up lung capacity.
A quarter mile of that run was up a 12/1 climb - the downhill part was more gradual and almost level for the last half mile. Then I would really hit it - under two minutes for the last half mile, and nine minutes for the whole two miles.
My club was too far away to make the once weekly training, but I did my own routine, as above, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. I was fitter than just about everyone, when it came to recovery time. Kinda how fitness used to be measured.
I'm miles off that now, but fitness then was just about hard work, and feic even thinking about 'enhancements'.

There ya go Oz.
CJ - it was about pushing myself to the limit back then (the 80s), and setting my own targets. Not settling for comfortable if you know what I mean.
What didn't work for me was jogging 5 miles in 30 minutes, which was the club training mid-week stuff. Then about four pints afterwards
Something that would set me up for a full game and be able to hit top speed after 75 minutes, as well as in the first 10, was what I wanted. It worked for me, but everyone's different.
Yeah, I love a beer now though. Playing days well behind me.

Pete. To be honest Id love either of Dublin or London mate. Peckham would be sweet. Dreamed of India. I love the people. I'm massively over-experienced there. Trained so many. And since Western-Europe (and EMEA) outsourced all their Mainframes there. I thought "this Sub-Continent is mine. 30 years MF experience - I own it"
Until I worked out the rates and converted them to Euros. I asked a guy on the phone, is that a for a week or a month bro? "No, thats it for a year."
I just love Globalisation me.

The only thing i know about the enigma machine is that it was used to break codes, so if i had a gun to my head i'd guess it was to do with the level of encryption they're both capable of, but that seems to obvious.
The enigma was the first "computer" to contain a keyboard and the Apple Mac was the first to use a mouse.

Interesting you should mention that, just reading up on some stuff that suggests that doing aerobic work after strength training in the same workout, even as little as 10 minutes impedes strength gains up to 20%.......
So I hate to break it to you...but you really needed to do 20% more squat thrusts ! .....
Gibbo there must be plenty of mainframe work in the motherland? Keep it on the QT but I have a suspision that Celtic Tiger III is on its way....
If you are interested in working in Belshaft or legenderry my company might have opportunities, are you interested in Tibco? Money would be peanuts for a man like yourself but I'll PM you the link if you're interested.

Morning all.
I clearly didn't try hard enough last night, I'm nowhere near as sore as I was on Wed. Although that may be the difference with between marking an ex-England captain, and marking a bloke who's played 9 matches ever.
