The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Bridgend
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Dew Drop Inn, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in Bridgend, the birthplace of ex Wales and Lions centre Dr. Jack Matthews, who has sadly passed away.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Dr Jack Matthews and his Welsh centres partner Bleddyn Williams.

Here's a question: if you came into some money today, what car would you buy? Money no object.

Nice, Thomond. If I had a stupid amount of money I'd get one of those too, just for nipping to the shops.
If I had the money, I'd get a Toyota GT 86:

As a kind of offshoot of this, if you could have any kind of superhero car or car used in a film/tv show what would you have?
I'm thinking the Knight Rider Car.

Hi all. Awful about the cinema shootings.
Just on a very short notice trip. Literally a lunchtime get into civvies and get to Heathrow. Nothing bad though, just a small job. I have a pounding headache though, so flying for a good few hours isn't what I need.
So I'll "see" you on Sunday or something. Got to go away Monday then. New cities at least.

I think I may regret going to the cinema less that 12 hours before a training session. My no puke streak may end.

Afternoon all
Had a good few days away including a visit to Asbo and family. Many thanks As, for your hospitality (Tricky)
Visited the Warner Bros Studio Tour where the Harry Potter Films were made. A very good day out. Would recommend it, especially if you are a Potter Fan.
Anything happening?

How will going to the cinema making you puke. Your're essentially just watching a big telly.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Bridgend
Where were you Rav? I was in the HP theme park in Florida, class stuff was on the rollercoaster before the modified for Harry Potter but was great after. Some neat stuff there too. They had butterbeer and some other drinks and foodstuffs from Harry Potter .No non-Harry Potter concessions allowed! Butterbeer was kind of like a butterscotch milkshake.
Stag: Cinema+ Coke + Popcorn+
tomorrow = scrummaging + sprinting + ball work + a bit of weights = bad situation
It's not tonight I will feel it, it's tomorrow! Although I have hard some people expereincing headaches with 3d and stuff.

3D is crap Thomond! I heard Chris Nolan refused to do the new Batman in 3D because 'he'd never met anyone who liked it'. I haven't either.
The 3D in Avatar was amazing. But every other 3D film I've ever seen was at least partially spoiled by being in 3D. Such a gimmicky fad.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Bridgend
I don't have much of a problem with it Notch. Bits of it are gimmicky alright. It doesn't really add or take away anything from the expereience. It has made some films look more successful than they are though. Ticket prices cost more with 3d so, there's a reason why a few 3d films are close to the top of the all time box office list!
About 2 years ago CJ, I have been to Florida a few times, my uncle lives there and flights are relatively cheap if you shop around. I enjoyed it, but then again I enjoyed Alligator too. Favourite rollercoaster in Universal/Islands of Adventure?

It does take away from the experience quite a bit I find, because it makes the screen darker. I went to see Prometheus in 3D- the film was dark already, the dark glasses meant you just couldn't see what was going on in certain scenes.
So irritating. And we had to pay more for that inferior experience because we couldn't get to a 2D showing that day

Feic off with your Gwazi. Sheikra all the way, the Mummy is pretty great but the Hulk was my favourite in IOA, Hollywood, Rip Ride Rockit was just open when I got there was alright. There's a new one in Busch Garden now Cheetah something did you get on that? Was it any goof?
Notch, in some films it can be a pain, but I usually don't mind it, the couple of quid can be a bit annoying but other than that no realy issues. I think 3D is a bit pointless with the gimmicks, it doesn't add depth with many films.

Cheetah run was ok, not as good as Montu, Gwasi, SheikRa or Kumba though. Also big queues. Hulk was too sterile for me

I got away with queuing a few times when I went there, my sister has special needs and the park gave us a few fast pass deals, nice of them when they only had to give two (one for my sister and someone to accompany her)
Montu and Sheikra are pretty great, Sheikra is way better now that it's floorless.

Thom, it's near Watford. No rollercoasters or anything like that. An exhibition of how the films were made.
You start off in the Great Hall and go through many of the sets like the Dormitory, Dumbledore's Office and Hagrid's Hut. See how the props and creatures were made. And yes, you get to buy a glass of Butterbeer.

Spent a year living in a tiny apartment in a red brick on Beacon Hill - great times Goose islandMickado wrote:AsLongAsBut100ofUs wrote:Mickado wrote:What's this I'm hearing about Sarries v Munster being played in Boston?!
Where would they even play? The Gillette Stadium is a fair step out in Foxboro and they could hardly play in Fenway park. Bit of a silly move on the part of the Sarries, it will make money, but every paddy from Southie to Salem would turn up to support the turnips.

Full credit to Team Sky and Dave Brailsford - they learned so much from last year's poor/unlucky showing - I think they might dominate for a good few years, regardless of which riders the put out
