The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Bridgend
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Dew Drop Inn, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in Bridgend, the birthplace of ex Wales and Lions centre Dr. Jack Matthews, who has sadly passed away.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Dr Jack Matthews and his Welsh centres partner Bleddyn Williams.

It needs to be seriously promoted by the IRFU.

Ach I know notch no hard feelings.
We had a 7s team in school. I think we won the 7s northern Ireland competition as well. No real step up though into the provences.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Bridgend
It does. There are ten venues now in the iRB 7s series. I don't think it would be too much to enter 2-4 of those games.
Having players involved means the IRFU can get their hands on certain players more often while it also keeps players who may have been let go by the provinces in the system if they feel there is something there and maybe reward players who do really well in the AIL.

I'm worth it and all. Now sitting with my wife and daughter drinking beer out the back. It's a glorious end to a glorious day. The swallows are like dots they are flying so high, the wind is following the sun and everything looks far away. It's probably gonna pifs down soon...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Bridgend
Already used a towel, however the thing isn't working. I have it upside down to try and get as much water out as possible. Trying to leave it off too. If it doesn't work tomorrow I'm going to take it to the Apple shop. Not sure what they could do though.
I didn't even spill that much. Looks like PCs are indeed the way forward.

Water damage could cause a lot of damage Rory.
I remember when I worked for a call centre for Sony VAIO computers repair centre.
This one guy had a top range laptop close on €2,000 and he called to say that he used youtube to check out aerobic exercises. When he was shutting down afterwards some drops of sweat fell into the keyboard and fried the motherboard. Cost an arm and a leg to repair.

Yeah I would imagine so. My birthday is coming up soon so I'll just save up for it until I get the job, try and get it fixed ASAP. Or else get myself a new cheap laptop.

Rory if your parents have home content insurance you should be able to claim for it of that?
They'll fix it or pay for a new one. You just need to see what the excess is.

Apparently the hair dryer would be a bad idea. I am just going to wait until tomorrow, and if it still doesn't turn on, I will bring it into the Apple store. I feel like such an idiot though, spilling water on it. Ugh.

It was my own fault though that it is broke. I am just going to cross my fingers and hope it is working tomorrow.
Speaking of Iphones, my sister did something similar by dropping it into a cup of water. So yeah my family have the clumsy gene.

Rory just let it dry out itself, then see if it works and if it doesn't you have 2 options:
a) take it the apple store but don't tell them you spilt water on it. If its still under warranty they may replace it.
b) Ask your folks if they will claim of the home content insurance.

Yeah sure but it would be a lot cheaper for you to pay the excess charge to your folks than buy a new Macbook. It might only cost £50 or so.

Don't bring it in tomorrow, give it a day or 2 to dry and see if it works.
Step 1 is see it works.
Step 2 is take it to apple.
Step 3 is to get Mr or Mrs Gallagher sr to ring up the home insurance provider and find out how much excess there would be to claim.
You'll be fine. Bottom line is you won't have to buy a new one

Leave it for a few days and see what happens. If she contacts you, you'll know she is interested, if she doesn't best move on.

Rory I've claimed for a laptop of the Home content insurance as well as my Ipod and satnav that got stolen from the car in Dublin when we were down that the Ulster game. It should be straightforward enough but there will be some excess to pay, but that will be far cheaper than buying a new one.
Best case is if you give it a few days to dry out, it might work fine.

Well Willy my advice is to do nothing, you sent the last text therefore to send another before she replies is to surrender the moral highground and any position of strength you might have in the matter...unless that is you regret what was in your last text in which case you have no position of strength anyways so you may as well keep texting.
In conclusion ask Gibbo, he'll know what to do.

Willy - there is no way to magically get her to text. As Rodders says if you start sending messages asking "Why aren't you texting back" you'll look like a sap.
Personally I've never understood the concept of "texting" someone.
I don't mean sending text messages I get that.
However I hear my pals go on about these girls saying "We're texting" as if its the first step on the relationship ladder.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Bridgend
I'm not a fan of virtual conversation in general (except when it involves rugby of course ). Body language is obviously not involved in the conversation and half the stuff said is usually misunderstood. I prefer actually meeting people, which seems to be an outdated concept!
EDIT: Plus I seem to come off as aggressive on the forums at times when I don't mean to. Which sucks.
