The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Bridgend
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Dew Drop Inn, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in Bridgend, the birthplace of ex Wales and Lions centre Dr. Jack Matthews, who has sadly passed away.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Dr Jack Matthews and his Welsh centres partner Bleddyn Williams.

No offensive Rava but you understand
The same with me - but it's come a long way in recent years - it's more technically based now (on project specific knowledge/procedures) rather than the 'HR' paper/people-shufflers of 10 years ago or so.

We are very similar to the USA in the 1850's (in terms of population) however without their proximity to Europe... but as you know we are closer to Asia - the Pacific Century and all that. Get in here 'early' if it appeals to you Munsty - we are 'home away from home' for you good folk. We need more of you!!!
Still a possibility but I don't think so. England is probably going to be my home for a long time.

That's great news Billy, have they got you dosed up on painkillers? I'd say the Dutch can do painkillers like no other race
Back to GAA for a moment, Dublin have won 8 of the last 9 Leinster titles, some of them very emphatically (Dublin 3–23 – 0–09 Wexford in 2008) and that didn't do us any good. I'm just happy that we're winning.

26 of Team GB's athletes have predicted that Great Britain & Northern Ireland will finish top of the Olympic medal table. A touch optimistic, I'd say.

I'd say they'll finish 4th behind USA, Russia and China.
Australia finished 4th ahead of Germany in 2000 and 2004.
GB should aim to do the same... like they did in Beijing.

Definite case of the curse there.
I'll be cheering on GB in a lot of events this year - that way NZ has a chance of beating the Aussies on the most important table, medals per capita.
Jaimaica have the medals per capita race sewn up already mind you.
In Beijing the table was
Rank Country Gold Silver Bronze Gold/Million
1 Jamaica 6 3 2 2.1582
2 Bahrain 1 0 0 1.4113
3 Estonia 1 1 0 0.7599
4 New Zealand 3 1 5 0.7289
5 Australia 14 15 17 0.6851
6 Mongolia 2 2 0 0.6776
7 Norway 3 5 2 0.6482
8 Georgia 3 0 3 0.6457
9 Slovakia 3 2 1 0.5507
10 Slovenia 1 2 2 0.4977
Valerie Vili, a couple of rowing golds plus one from A.N. Other would be just the ticket.

Ireland only need 3 to make that table. 3 from the boxing and maybe another from our steroid pumped horsies and we’d be laughing.

That was on yesterday apparantly Rav. Great film.
Speaking of films, I'm going to try watching The Dark Knight Rises tonight. Going on my own, which is technically a bit sad, but I won't get the chance to watch it otherwise. Hope there's a seat for me.

You'd relate to it really well. Its about a bloke with pointy ears who works hard to promote health and safety in a city with a history of terrorism.

That can't be right either. We play Ospreys in our fixtures. Unless it's to do with that repeat fixture rubbish (avoiding teams playing each other in Heino/Amlin/LV).
Dragons fixtures are
Bath (A)
Ospreys and Northampton home (can't remember which way they are)
And last up a trip away to London Welsh.
Another bit of Dragons news (from last week, though I couldn't be bothered doing a topic on it), is that we are hosting 4 open training sessions around the region. 1 at Caerphilly, 1 at Blaenavon, 1 TBA and 1 in Newport. Well done Dragons.
Anyway, KFC then DKR is reckon. I have heard DKR is a slow burner, but is amazing.
Rav, Batman Begins is good (slow burner as well) and Dark Knight is absolutely superb. Because this one ties them all up, you probably do need to watch the first two of the trilogy first.

Pool 1 is paired with Pool 4 and Pool 2 with Pool 3, very, very strange way of going about it, but that's how they do it in the Little Value.

Rava - I've never watched any of the Batman films either, so you're not the only one.

Evening. My mate Biff is taking on two Munster lads at darts in the pub. One of them has a Tipperary Youth Darts shirt on
The other lad has a white Munster Rugby 'leisure' shirt on. Looks quite nice.
