He goes box to box in games anyway Olly, that is why people say he is poor defensively. That is why, for Baggins team for instance, Toure and De Jong works so well.

My reasoning for the deal is that Alex Song will be used more as a box to box, and now it is unlikely Arsenal will go for M'Vila. However they will go for some sort of CDM. Lucas Leiva is back from injury, and Rodgers has already said he is important for his plans. Strootman I got 8m for a loan deal anyway so I could not use him this season. And it looks like he isn't going to Man U.

So IMO, two good signings for Season 3 OK

Well personally I would prefer M'Vila over Song hence why I went for M'Vila. But that is just my opinion!!!

Think that is a good deal for both of you tbh. Although if Diaby gets injured in pre season I would expect Arsenal to go for M'Vila.

Lucas will be like the Leon Britton of Liverpool, except more used to break up the play. Very good player

I agree with Twist.

M'Vila is one of those players you sign hoping he makes the move to a bigger league/club. Same with most French players truth be told. Remy, Giroud, M'Vila, Gourcuff, Debuchy etc.

Look at Cabaye, moves to Newcastle and now he's one of the top midfielders in this league. His game probably hasn't changed, but people's perception of him has. Until M'Vila moves to the Prem/La Liga/Serie A and performs there will be a question mark over him.

Arghhbhhhhh why? Why do people think that Diaby is a .DM? Just because he is big, tall, athletic, black don't mean his the next Vieira or Toure, he is an attacking player yeah I'm shocked too.

So when you look at this........

I have done a good deal. It is all about getting the right types of players in. If your put Toure and Song together in midfield, it would be awful. Same if you have De Jong and M'Vila. The key is good balance. Song got 11 assists and a goal last season. People take a dim view of him however because he is used wrongly by Arsenal. You can't tell a player just to sit and defend, when he offers you much more. The flip side to that is if you do tell someone like Song/Toure to play a more attacking box to box role, you have to have someone like De Jong/M'Vila playing alongside them to clear stuff up.

As Marky says, M'Vila doesn't seem to be moving, and his attitude worries me actually. I think a lot of clubs are turned off my by him now. As stupid as it sounds, I am more upset at losing Strootman. If he had gone to Man U (or if there were still rumours floating around to that effect) I would have kept him for Season 3. However, Song is a safer bet in that box-to-box role OK

I'd say Svender is a CDM.

Just signed Bebe, I know you're all gutted I got there first but sorry, I will not be replying to offers for the man with the better Champions League "goals per minute" ratio than Lionel Messi.

Also, my budget was £15.875m and now its a round £15m OK

He scored a goal yesterday.

It was pre-season, against a South African team. But it was still a goal.

The best players can't say it because they are too good to turn out for the likes of Macclesfield or Rotherham. All due respect to those sides...

Ha, no. I have a low tolerance for drinking games, I'm a notorious spewer.

It could have been aftershock or something, that stuff always makes me feel ill.

How does beer pong work?

Essentially you fill 5 cups (or more if you're playing doubles which I was) filled with some form of liquor in a triangle, like red snooker balls, at each end of a table. Each person then has to throw a ping pong ball at the cups and if it lands in you have to down it. Winner is the first person to make their opponent down everything. Unfortunately I was playing against a cricketer.

Yeah it does. As an ex-cricketer myself I was supremely disappointed at my display. Just wasn't on it that night. There was no ping pong ball so it was bottle caps we were using.

Battleships sounds brutal. vomit (which surprisingly no one did, at least that's what I'm aware of).

Interesting deal. Cahill slipped off a lot last season, goals wise at least. Guess this will mean Barkley will have more of a role?

Thoughts on Danny? The injured Zenit guy.

Will he be rated upon his return from injury as he's a class player? Or does it depend on his performances over a few weeks/months, basically starting again?

Morning

I've always thought Danny is a quality player but was underated by many because he played in the Russian league and wasn't playing much for the Portugal team at the time. I probably wouldn't buy him because I don't think he will be rated enough on here to make an impact.

Who's up for a deal? I think I have made the least transfers from everyone.

Don't think I can get a replacement for that Marky in two weeks. I sooner do a swap. Just not Ruiz lol

Lucas is apparently off. May be a clever tactic to take pressure off of him at the Olympics.

Yeah I remember Grant Holt's agent saying on the radio that he would never play for Norwich again. Don't believe a word they have to say...

Ruiz is a better CB in my opinion. Smalling has a lot of potential, and the ability to play RB and CB. And he's injured in RL for the next 2 months. That's about it. You're not going to get a great CB in exchange (unless you let Hazard go it seems) and cash can be put towards a big Star Player CB, like Pique or Kompany.

But hey, there you go Whistle

Believe me I have checked what I can get at the mo Marky before saying no. This week I will only get 2m bonus for results, so 14m doesn't get me who I want

There are still bargains out there if you know where to look. I could buy 3 players that would be good for not a lot of money each.
