Jack Wilshere out until October

Over a year out now, surely he will not be able to come back the same player from this kind of injury. Real shame but I can see Wilshere's career being ruined by this injury.

absolutely awful, his performance against barca still stands out for me, when at just 18 he looked like the real deal. even as a spur im gutted because i know england could lose a potentially world class player, and weve had very very few of them in the last 20 years

It's so frustrating as an Arsenal fan, we develop all these promising players and then they get awful injuries and are missing for a year+ and then their development is severly put back, Wiltshire, Ramsey, Frimpong, Diaby and even Rosicky, and we'll be missing Sagna, our best defender, to a broken leg as well.

The porcelain prince could end up a Hargreaves-like wasted talent with all these injuries. Although at least Owen won something first, Jack hasn't a hope this rate, esp at arsenal. Pity as he's so so good, really had him down as a star of the future.

He's had 1 injury (after playing 50 odd games the season before), hardly a Darren Anderton style porcelin prince

It's not 1 injury at all, 1 period of injury maybe, but he's had several, all in a row, that have kept him out of action for what, 6 months? 12 months?

Well, I am sure he is still getting paid a large salary. If we were not able to work for so long how would we be?

It's a bit early to say that injuries will ruin his career, he's only 20. I'd say it's more likely that he'll recover from this injury (and the set back) and in a season be as good as new.

It's not one injury, it's been a few, and there have been several delays to his recovery.

Missing one year, at such a crucial time of his development could be devastating to his career.

Doesn't mean he'll be injury prone, just that he won't ever fulfil the potential he had before his injury.
