He's apparently about to get suspended for it, possibly fired.

It's because Linda McMahon is thinking of running for senate again, need to keep everything squeaky clean.
Hence Jericho's suspension after the flag incident in Brazil.

Silly thing for him to do though. If I was Titus or Darren I wouldn't be impressed with him his stupid quick joke could signal a rocky road for all of them.

Re: Abraham Washington or AW!
I've got a pretty dark sense of humour, but the 'joke' by Washington wasn't only stupid, it also wasn't funny or clever.
I'll reiterate, I like dark humour, but this wasn't in any way intelligent or witty. This was simply a very silly man thinking that r*** is inherently amusing.
I would have no complaints if he was fired. Peronally I'd have given him a final warning.

Re: Abraham Washington or AW!
Although I agree with Crips sentiment that it is not a joking matter, I also believe that Wrestling is not exactly a wholesome product to hold up on a pedestal.
After all, its a TV show that encourages people to fight each other to resolve issues.

Re: Abraham Washington or AW!
See I actually found it funny, I'm a firm believer in that comedy should have no limits however the problem with this is that Raw is PG14 and jokes like this have no place on a show that isn't rated 18+.
The other problem I have though is that AW made some very racist jokes about Primo and Epico recently and yet nothing was done about it and Lawler constantly comes out with even worse!
Fact is the WWE need to either crack down on it all or they give the talent the freedom to do as they will, the double standards they exhibit are really putting me off watching recently.

Re: Abraham Washington or AW!
It was a completely dumbass move on AW's part though, what with WWE's PG friendly stance (so there isn't much scope even for funny dark humour - which this wasn't) and Linda McMahon's never ending quest to prove that it's not just her husband who fails with non-wrestling ventures.

See Adam, this sort of discussion is why I'd love to do a regular 'week in review' type audio show with you!
Perhaps if the people demand it... (this is the part where nobody responds to the thread)

I hope they don't make a huge deal out of his comments, Prime Time Players have been a breath of fresh air to the tag team division and AW is like a modern day Jimmy Hart!

I heard it - but have no idea what Kobi Bryant is famous for - other than basketball, so it went over my head.
I still don't know.
What happened with Kobi Bryant in a hotel room?

I probably would have laughed if I'd known.
Nothing wrong with a bit of near to the knuckle humour. A Stand-Up would be able to say it. I think he's a great character too so would hate to see him lose his job over it

Re: Abraham Washington or AW!
Quite different but Miguel Torres made a joke about r*** on twitter and was fired straight off by the UFC no questions asked.
He was then reinstaed though when he appologised profusely and started doing volonteering for a r*** charity after his release. I know this can be viewed as trying to earn forgiveness but it's better than getting a slap on the wrists and nothing else. I really think WWE should take a similar stance as it isn't a joke to be made especially by the PG company.

Re: Abraham Washington or AW!
I think its alright having a laugh and joke about somewhat horrible/bad things when you're in intimate surroundings and you know the people you're speaking to won't either be offended or personally effected by it but joking about a henious crime like r*** in such grand settings can not only cause offence and set a bad example, it can also lessen the nature of the crime to young people who heard it
Personally I wouldn't sack him, being mic'd up he'll have to think on his feet constantly, it's a tough gig, I woukd however go down the same road as UFC and maybe have him do some PR work for r*** charities
Why wouldn't I sack him? It was an extreme error in judgement but there was no real malice in his words
