Rumour confirmed! Fight is on!

It's been reported in today's Telegraph that John Murray has agree terms to fight Scott Harrison on the 22nd Sept in a world title eliminator.

Harrison's manager Alex Morrison is quoted as saying the winner will be guaranteed a fight with the winner of the Burns/Mitchell bout. "Scott won't get a better chance of becoming a world champion again" said Morrison.

Cracking fight and in many ways could be a better bout than the main event. Another good old Scotland v England match up!

Difficult fight to call. A real 50/50 contest and a possible FOTY contender.

Thoughts?

Should be a good fight and a nice indicator of what Harrison has left.

Definitely not one for the faint-hearted. Bring it on.

Going to have a cheeky bet on Harrison. Murray should be favourite so should hopefully get good odds on Scott and maybe.......just maybe......

Its hard to gauge where Scott is right now based on his last fight but I'd definately be rooting for him! Ah way the jocks! Murray put up a decent show against Rios though, my wallet would gravitate in his direction.

Harrison isn't a boxer, he's not the type of opponent to expose murrays limitations. Murray is bigger than him and although on the end of a beating or 2 I would still think he's fresher than Harrison who is 34

Murray was doing pretty well vs Mitchell before he walked onto a good left uppercut, a shot he couldn't see as Mitchell throws from good angles

Harrison beat a kid in his comeback fight, someone who don't have te physical strength to stop him. He looked pretty bulked up an that might affect his stamina if he gets into a tear up. Murray has the stamina to last the fight so I would think he can pull out a tight UD

Neither of them deserve to be in an eliminator. Murray is coming straight off two bad losses and Harrison has fought once in seven years. Either another example of a toilet-quality division or a farce by the organisers involved.

Has Murray fought since Rios? That was a nasty beating he ended up taking at the end, even if he was competitive early. A fighter can't too many stoppages in that style.

No, probbly had to take some time out, his injuries were bad. You're right though, a few of those fights are career enders.

He has not. His last two fights have been stoppage losses. Mystifying how someone with that recent track is considered worthy of a world title eliminator, let alone when the guy he's fighting has fought once in seven years.

Not to mention at least one of his eyes were completely shut if I remember rightly. He swells far too easily for someone who uses his face as his defence. I think Mitchell Burns will be the better fight to watch, really looking forward to that one.

to be fair i dont think many boxers in the division would last 11 rounds with rios, especially standing in front of him the whole night.
