UK NFL Coverage
Just wondering iof anybody knew when there would be news over the Sky coverage
I've been following a message board on the Sky website where they're saying terms have yet to be agreed for the license to show the games and whenever people are questioning they come back (admin at Sky) with a vague message about privacy due to ongoing negotiations.
I know we're still a few weeks out from the regular season, but need to know am I gonna be getting my fix from Sky or will ESPN or Premier Sports pick it up

I think its an annual thing where they can never agree, then miraculously do so about a week before the season starts. Wouldn't be worried just yet, Sky will come through!

The more important question is whether C4 will come through for those of use without Sky

Really want at least some NFL on free tv, wish BBC would sort it out they've got playoffs and Super Bowl could at least pretend to be interested in the regular season.

The deal with Channel 4 has been agreed, can't find Mike Carlson's tweet from earlier this week confirming it.

I'm not allowed to post links to other forums but head to NFLUK for more information on NFL on TV
Re: UK NFL Coverage
Bought my Gamepass on NFL.com last night - very excited!! For just 15 quid more than the cost of a Sky Sports subscription for the duration of the regular season you get to watch any game you want, as many times as you want, any time that you want. I only ever sign up to Sky Sports for the duration of the NFL season and then cancel it so for me, Gamepass seems like better value and it means I can get to see every Redskins game! Woohoo!

Is that the case for any game shown on Sky? Not on gamepass for another 6 days?

Re: UK NFL Coverage
It's only the 6pm and 9pm Sunday Sky games. Every other game is available live on gamepass.
Re: UK NFL Coverage
As a Skins fan, I don't think this will be too big an issue for me! There may well be some RG3 curiosity near the start of the season if he comes out of the traps fast but otherwise, I still don't think we're going to be all that desirable to the Sky Sports producers.

He did the stint when it was on C5? Shame about Imlach. The banter between him and Mike Carlson was quite funny.

Shame about Imlach not doing the C4 coverage. He's a legend!
Wouldn't worry about Sky - this is par for the course now - something will be sorted in the next few days. Mind you, less than a week until the opening game now! How much has that crept up on us????

Yes! I love Nat and Mike together - they were great for two seasons on C5.
Also on 4OD for the first time - maybe there was no need to dust the cobwebs off my old video recorder this weekend!

I hope it actually stays on 4oD this time, I remember last season the first couple of games were on 4oD then they suddenly disappeared.

Re: UK NFL Coverage
Statement from NFLUK - Today, 03:04 PM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the new NFL season kicking off next week, we fully understand the concerns of our fans that the full UK broadcast line-up for the new season has not yet been announced, beyond the new Channel 4 agreement for Sunday Night Football and the existing deal with BBC TV for Super Bowl and Wembley/playoff highlights.
We have been in negotiations for some time to extend our broadcasting agreements for this season and will announce the full package for the 2012 season as soon as possible. However, it is possible that this may not be before Tuesday at the earliest. Thank you for your support and patience.

Not that Sky's coverage isn't garbage.

Re: UK NFL Coverage
Man, is the first thing people in America think of when looking for a picture that represents the UK really Prince Harry????
Oh well, look on the bright side, at least he's not naked in their picture
While I'm sure the NFL and Sky will sort something out, maybe not before Wednesday's game, but certainly before the weekend's games, I'm feeling kinda pleased right now about my decision to shun Sky Sports this year and take out a GamePass subscription instead.

Re: UK NFL Coverage
and no coverage currently on ESPN America of the Sunday countdown or anything?
meanwhile fans in Europe get great coverage on ESPN America
who is at fault for this being allowed to happen in the UK? crazy considering they try to promote the game so much here
guessing problem is over redzone coverage being allowed for free/red button?

Re: UK NFL Coverage
I was literally about to post - I had just checked the sky site and they don't mention it at all and no listings exist at the moment. It's a real shame if they can't sort it out, even though I have Game Pass, I like the Sky coverage overall.

Re: UK NFL Coverage
As much as I like RedZone, to hell with it if it means missing the first weekend of the season. If Sky aren't getting the rights, then surely ESPN will? They have an offer of 3 months free when signing up for a year, as long as I can watch it on TV somewhere!
Starting to look into Gamepass now, but I really don't like watching on my laptop

HDMI cable will sort you out
Seriously though, Gamepass is freaking awesome and would highly recommend to everyone. And they're not even paying me to say that.

Well it's confirmed!
http://www.nfluk.com/opinions/articles/sky-sports-announces-three-year-nfl-deal
3 year deal! Including RedZone, looks like MNF will be on ESPN but another announcement on that is due.
At least we can avoid the drama for a couple of years

Great news for me and fellow Gamepass users. The six day blackouts on Sky's 6pm and 9pm games has been reduced to 24 hours and RedZone is available live.

week two on the schedule looks
And why Bears/Colts instead of Titans/Patriots?
Very happy with the deal though and total access is back as well. MNF should be alright

I'm off on Mondays for the first semester so college/NFL season is sorted. Off on thursday too (technically for work experience, but mines is another day) so can have wednesday's for nights out instead of missing big college games on saturdays sometimes

Sunday nights is on Channel 4, Monday Night Football is probably going to be on ESPN but I haven't seen a confirmation yet
