FIFA 13.
Just over a month away until release and I have to say I'm starting to get excited. Personally I'll just be purchasing the standard edition however if you play alot of Be A Pro or UT the ultimate edition doesn't look to bad.
Anyone else looking forward to this release?

Yes, there's the standard version which is the normal price or the Ultimate Edition which is more expensive. However if you play alot of UT it is worth it as they give away free packs worth about £20 with it, and chuck in a few other extras.

Re: FIFA 13.
I imagine the same will happen as does every year.
I'll say that I'm not going to get it, that it's not worth it, then as the season starts and I watch more football, I will get more and more tempted and I'll buy it.
I'll get Football Manager 2013 first though as it's cheaper and a better game but Fifa has managed to trick me into buying it every year since 2006.

Sounds very good, they've essentially making the career mode more and more like Football Manager, so more and more realistic essentially. Which is always good.

The live in-game updates sound brilliant. Does Geoff Shreeves tell players they're not playing in the final too?

I finally went for Madden this year after a few years and it was well worth it.
Sadly this years FIFA probably doesn't seem to be.

This blog, plus the fact my 2 year old daughter scratched my Fifa 12 disc, means i'm very excited about buying Fifa 13 when it comes out! Demo's out tomorrow, will definitely be having a play of it.
On a side note, I played the demo of PES 13 last week, it's nothing on Fifa 12, but will compare it to Fifa 13.

Re: FIFA 13.
I don't want to get the demo, as I'm still enjoying Fifa 12 and playing a slightly better FIFA will make it hard to go back to Fifa 12.
I can't remember which it was, think it was Fifa 10 to Fifa 11 where they made a fairly huge change in that you had 360 degree dribbling, trying to go back to 10 was awful.

I pre-ordered my copy this morning at Game (taken over by Gamestation I believe) in Crawley, £5 deposit to come off the final price, I was told of midnight opening and a possible knockout tournament!

Game and Gamestation were always owned by the same company. Despite this, there used to be (before one was closed) a Gamestation and Game metres apart in Lancaster. I think it was to create false competition.

Re: FIFA 13.
They weren't Crimey, they were rivals but in 2007 Game bought them off Blockbuster who were the previous owners. It was part of the reason then of Game's downfall though as like you mentioned they kept multiple stores open in towns. Some places had 2 Game and a Gamestation all in competition with themselves.

By always I meant before Game had their collapse basically.
As long as I have shopped there, so 2007 is probably about right, they've been owned by the same company.

Re: FIFA 13.
I think the main improvements appear to be within the career modes, so I suppose it depends how much you use the career mode.
Also, a real niggle of mine from Fifa 12 has apparently been fixed in that players will actually try to stay onside. So many times fast players will just constantly be offside because they make no attempt to stay onside.

Re: FIFA 13.
I just read that they've replaced Croatia with India in the International teams. They replaced Croatia, a top 10 ranked team in the world with world class players like Luka Modric for a team thats best player probably be a 60 overall rating. Good job EA!

I think its something to do with licencing. Also they've added two new leagues. The Saudi Arab League and the Scottish Second Tier.

Wales are never on the FIFA games, only on the World Cup versions. Surprised they've lost the licence to put Croatia in the game, no doubt it'll be sorted out though.

Re: FIFA 13.
They've also lost the rights to use the Nou Camp.
I think that perhaps those in football are trying to push Fifa and EA around by expecting huge sums of money for the licences to use things, but they're not budging because they know people will buy it anyway.
