Ospreys next, where's your money?
I fancy a close game.
Ospreys 23 Bath 27
But lets be honest this time of year is all about fitness not results, or am I wrong?

Bath are leaving it a bit late for more signings. They could probably do with one or two more. How's pre season gone so far?
That sounds tastey.

It is.
I think we're looking at linking up with a Saffer team to trade/loan players etc.
We thrashed Oxford Welsh 40-31

Change thrashed for squaked past and you have it right.
You leaked four tries to a bunch of semi-amateurs! That score will be higher then the total combined score of OW's whole season. You've let yourselves down and you've let the Prem down as a whole.

The game was over at half time, infact the only sub I didn't see was being driven by John, Paul, George and Ringo.

The one thing I have to concede is that Bath make better beer than Gloucester. Dark Side is a nice drop, but my favourite is Wild Hare
Having said that, Glaws are far better at cider, you should try Squealy Pig - it may have connotations of a scene in Deliverance as you will feel rather sore after a skinful!

I drank 1/2 gallon of farmhouse rough scrumpy a couple of weeks ago and it is still playing my gut up.
I've lost 1/2 stone since that drunken night.

Rumour has it Vesty will be the starting No10 vs Ospreys.
After what happened last season I'd never pick him again.
We really need some new signings.

Vesty is solid but unspectacular. A good clubman who made one of the worst and most amusing mistakes I've seen for a while in the AP. On the upside for him, at least he wasn't at Tigers when he did it, Cockers would have ripped him a new 'un.

Bad Yappy. Louis is still one of the best physical second rowers in the league. He is unflashy but effective, he is however a sick note and coming towards the end of his career so can see why you'd link Bath. Tigers still need him though so that means it won't happen.
Now, I've heard they're trying to bring back Borthwick...

Borthwick wants out of Sarries as his worried about the new pitch, his legs won't take it.
Wouldn't be a bad move, but he'd have to take a pay cut.

Re: The Bath Rugby Thread
Not this year. Although not a foregone conclusion, I would say that Tigers, Saracens and Northampton are pretty much nailed on to finish in the top three. That will leave Bath battling the likes of Glaws and Harlequins for a 4th spot. Sale are an unknown quantity, Waps could be resurgant and LI will always be there or thereabouts.
You're basing your expectation on one pre-season match where Bath were frankly underwhelming. They havent stengthened significantly from the end of last season.
I predict 6th spot for Barf.

True, although last season the squad didn't weaken significantly from the 2010/11 one, yet we dropped like a stone post-Meehan. Don't underestimate the effect of a new coaching setup!
I'm talking myself into positivity....

Re: The Bath Rugby Thread
I was looking forward to the Blues game tonight, I'll be arriving in Spa at 6.30 to get to the wreck, but after seeing the two sides I'm not so excited...
2nd choice front row, kids at 6, 12, 13 and 14, and no captain!
Oh well at least I'll have plenty to drink and scream about.
Out of interest what will the attendance be like HERSH?

Trying to do that online Maesteg, is like trying to nail a jelly to a wall.
Best thing to do is call the ticket office, the ladies there are very helpful. The website is one of my bugbears mate, even during the season, it's not the best source of info for Bath Rugby, although the BRTV clips are pretty good.
I'd like to see some information on injuries, particularly as Bath seem to have so many, that "world-class medical facility" at Farleigh is certainly earning it's keep.
Anyone got any thoughts on first choice line-up against Wuss? I'd like to see:
15 Bendy
14 Woodburn
13 Hipkiss
12 Banahan
11 Eastmond
10 Donald/Heathcote (not sure on availabilty though - see comment above )
9 Claasens
1 James
2 Mears
3 Perenise
4 Attwood
5 Day
6 Louw
7 Mercer
8 Fearns
Replacements Wilson, Webber, Day, Skirving, Cook, Donald/Heathcote/Devoto, Barkley, Cuthbert.
