Just a quick quest gents, i'll be in the Bath area on the weekend of Nov 10th and was contemplating watching the LV game between Bath and Dragons. When will tickets go on sale and how much are they usually?
Also any good food near the stadium or inside the stadium and drinks as well?

Re: The Bath Rugby Thread
Drinks - can't go wrong with the Pulteney Arms or the Royal Oak. Both big rugby pubs, both do proper food at a reasonable price. Food probably better in the Pulteney. Both only 5 minute walk away as well.
Tickets on sale now, £30 each for seating, but the terrace is always good fun for about £20 I reckon.

Also where have all the characters gone, today’s pro rugby players are just media groomed morons IMO.

Something suggests Bell has itchy feet. He retires to be an IFA, then coaches Clifton, leaves to join Lydney, then starts playing American Football. I presume he's still coaching Lydney?

Re: The Bath Rugby Thread
Eastmond should make the move to 13 at some stage, but that's a way off yet.
If Williams could spin a few games together without one of his body parts spontaneously imploding, they would make one hell of a midfield next season.

Actually I think he'll go to 15 in time. His kicking ability and running skills are suited to the back three where as his lack of size would leave him a target at 12 or 13.

He'll go to 12 for sure, a natural playmaker with a great pass off both hands. Yeah he will be targeted because of his size, but he's Northern league boy, so he can definitely hack it!

Re: The Bath Rugby Thread
Hook at the end of his career??? He's 27! That's another 5 years to go, he's probably only just past the halfway point.
With regards to the next Stuart Barnes, Tom Heathcote was mightily impressive last year and even younger Ollie Devoto is one to watch.

I think that's reflected in the business done this summer, but with Barkley and Carraro leaving, who were our best two centres by a fair bit, we need to look at midfield options
Summer signings in
Rob Webber - Hooker
Paul James - LH
Dom Day - Lock
Agulla - Ce / Wing
Summer signings out
Matt Carraro - Centre
Olly Barkley - Centre / 10

Rumours are about that Gary Gold has signed Nick Coster a back row player from The Stormers, his best position is No. 8 so possibly a long term replacement for Taylor.
Anyone know anything about him?

Think he's played a handful of times in SXV for Stormers but has been seen more regularly with their Currie Cup counterparts, Western Province - he's even appeared on the wing for them, so must have a decent turn of speedPJHolybloke wrote:Rumours are about that Gary Gold has signed Nick Coster a back row player from The Stormers, his best position is No. 8 so possibly a long term replacement for Taylor.

Re: The Bath Rugby Thread
He's a big boy according to Wiki, 6'4" and 16st 4lb - mind you, that's not so big for a winger these days.
But if he's got pace and good hands he'll be a strong addition to Fearns and Louw, I hope the rumours are true, Bath need more quality in the back row.
I see he's already had a long lay off with a knee injury though, knee injuries always worry me.
