Petty taunting won't change the situation HERSH. You either have to stick with the original bet you agreed to once again, or you have to renege on the deal

Happy days.
Glaws biggest ever league defeat 3 - 47 (v Bath Rugby 1998)
Unfortunately our biggest defeat was against Glaws 68 - 12 (2002) Not such a happy day.

Re: The Bath Rugby Thread
Well that wasn't a surprise.
I believe if Barkley was playing then we might have sneaked that one, so what does that say about the ambition at the club?
I for one am very disapointed especially when we are asked to pay more to watch our team each year, I will be contacting the club to voice my concerns and I suggest other Bath fans do also.

Come on HERSH, don't be sour. It would be rather harsh to blame your beloved club for losing to Glaws - after all it's not their fault that we are so far superior

Another day another dollar
I believe it speaks volumes that most Bath fans think we are at a very low point in our history yet up the road our rivals believe they are on the up by beating us on their own turf by only 6pts.
I guess we just have different standards.

It takes time, get this season out of the way and get some players in that the new coaching set up want and then the new goldern era will start.

Oh HERSH I'm disappointed in your sour grapes. We're not celebrating a 6 point win (which should have been 13 had the officials done their job properly!). We're celebrating:
- The 5th straight win against
- The 10th win in 11 games against
- Tying up 18 wins a piece in the overall Jeff record against
Now don't renege on a bet please sir

Hersh,
Glad you have straightened things out at Farleigh House, and can now return to the more important work here on 606.
Standards ? In recent seasons looks like these are being set by Glaws.

I'll have to apologise for my part in that. I enjoy using the emoticons but enjoy winding up HERSH more! I shall refrain from further, but I will say I am very disappointed in HERSH, I always thought he was a man of his word. Clearly the 10th win was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Anyway, making a serious comment. The Glaws supporters forum is full of praise for Biggs, who was outstanding. Surprisingly there wasn't much comment about Fearns who was excellent. His performance for me really showed he definitely isn't a 7, he is a good 6, but I feel he has the potential to be a great 8.

Re: The Bath Rugby Thread
Thanks HKC, some decorum is appreciated!
Biggs has been a hell of a player for us for 2 seasons now, our most consistent player and hasn't had much exhilarating back play or forward dominance to thrive off either. He has great basics, rarely makes mistakes. His defence is great, he thumps much bigger blokes. He's quick and he always beats the first defender, in my opinion he is massively under rated in this league.
Fearns has been a beast all season now he's up to full fitness. He's not an out and out 7, although great at the breakdown. When Frans is back, we're looking at
6 Fearns
7 Louw
8 Koster
and that should give some great balance. Louw's an int class 7, as shown in the 4Ns and the signing of Koster as a big ball carrying 8 takes some pressure of the flankers to focus on their link play and defence.

Re: The Bath Rugby Thread
thanks Pete, interesting to hear from Victor.
After I moved to the W Country, Bath were 'the' team in the '90s. I never joined but often took my young son to see England heroes play at the Rec.
Back in the final days of amateur rugby. Victor, Jerry, Mike Catt, Andy Robinson, Jon Callard, Ben Clarke, Coochie, Redman. Spoke with a few of them, and a photo of my young son alongside Jeremy in an after match interview. We were also there when they opened the new Teachers stand.
In more recent years I was persuaded by soem mates into taking a season ticket at Glaws. And here is the blasphemy,as a Glaws convert... I retain fond memories of visits to the old Bath RFC. But then I was a Londoner, not really a W Country native, so a little more open minded about W Country rugby.
Thanks for the Victor interview.

In fairness he was cycling for charity in Marakesh, and I doubt there were too many bars showing the game there

Actually, possibly he was in Paris, I haven't listened back to that bit yet, and I was partly thinking about my next question at that point.
He's a really nice bloke, put up with a few technical hitches at both ends (Skype was being a pain) before the final recording without complaint.

Eastmond looked good on his visit to Kingsholm and indeed this season. Is he going to be 'promoted' from wing to no 10 shirt ?
Will this new position suit him ?

Re: The Bath Rugby Thread
Personally id say eastmond is far too small for 10 you would get guys running at his channel all day, id say wing suits him fine, very similar to shane williams in build and running style its also the easiest position to learn as a convert and a good place to stick a small mercurial player.

he played the last 20 mins against Bucharest at 10. I think that they will keep trying him out there in the Amlin. Final position hasn't been agreed yet, but certainly won't be the wing. He needs to be on the ball regularly, he's got a good kicking and distrubution game from league. Personally, I'd like to see him at 12, between Hipkiss and Donald, both huge blokes who would protect him. Although i don't have any concerns about any league players defence.
