Burnley have lost Chris McCann to Wigan and Martin Pattinson to Huddersfield.
Can see Burnley being relegation candidates next season, especially if Austin leaves. Dyche hasn't be able to continue the fine work Eddie Howe provided before leaving.

Re: Championship Season Topic
We have released Murphy and Nuno Gomes, that is £60K per week off the wage bill.
Things seem to looking a tad more rosy, and Venky's seem to be starting to get their house in order.
Craig Short is also a great addition to Bowyers backroom staff.

Better off with that Luke Murphy from Crewe, he does look decent.
I am so far, enjoying Bowyers rebuilding, looking forward to seeing Alan Judge back at the club as well.

Re: Championship Season Topic
Solid signing for Blackburn in Matt Kilgallon.
Good cover for the Hanley - Dann partnership at the back.
I am liking the way the squad is starting to shape up. Do need some more dead wood to go though, but finally feels as if things are starting to move in the right direction.

Under a transfer embargo, Watford sign 7 players from Udinese. I hope they fail again, I really do

I don't they play some superb football and have a legend as a manager. They deserved promotion the most out of the 4 sides in the play offs, and its a real shame Hull actually got 2nd place.

Udinese sign the players and send them to Watford on a free to avoid FFP.

Going into the Play Offs, as everyone said Palace were the least favorites.
But the fact of the matter is Brighton and Watford didn't turn up against them and both sides put in there worst performance of the season (Well Brighton most certainly did) not sure if Watford did or not, but they did play crap. Palace did the job and somehow got promoted. Not sure how they will fare in the prem, but it will be intresting.
Going back to Watford the football they play is amazing, better than A LOT of Prem sides, but as they didn't turn up against Palace, they stayed down. Hope Zola can keep them ticking next season as i will look forward to seeing them on Super Sunday

Tbf the play offs are a complete lottery. Doesn't matter about form, skill etc. All it is 90 minutes of football. Watford proved over 46 games, there a lot better than Palace, however over 90 minutes of football, Palace smashed the odds and beat them.

The play offs are a lottery. Worst cliche in football.
You don't fluke your way through 3 matches.

Re: Championship Season Topic
It is in a sense, that previous performance largely gets wiped out and everyone starts fresh.
But to call it a complete lottery is wrong, as how you handle the situation comes into consideration.

Re: Championship Season Topic
I think the play offs are a lottery, as simply anything can happen in 90 minutes.
One Referring decision, one poor pass, a goalkeeping error, anything can win or lose the match.
That's why i consider the Play offs a lottery.
Also can we create a new Championship topic for the new 2013/14 season

Re: Championship Season Topic
How you handle the situation is not luck I'm afraid. Brighton freezing under the pressure is not down a lottery. Holloway knows how to install the necessary mindset.

Re: Championship Season Topic
We didn't freeze, we were just crap and it was a major reality check of how far we actually came. Palace weren't great, but we just played like a pub side.

Re: Championship Season Topic
Exactly.
You froze under the pressure, the lights of Sky, the eye of the nation, and put in a pub team like performance, rather than replicating one like you did in the season
