I thought there was no chance of the Bears defense outscoring Romo by 10, and then they go and do that!
Could still use a decent RB though, don't suppose anyone has one they're not using? I'm pretty deep at WR, or I could be convinced to move Graham or Chandler if you need a TE.

looking to next weekend already now!
It's the same debate I've had the last three weeks - Cam or Flacco?
Flacco is @KC, while Cam is home to the Seahawks. Genuinely stuck between the two, both have upsides and downsides.

I think you should pick up Graham Harrell and start him instead; he's set to bounce back with a big game if you ask mesodhat wrote:looking to next weekend already now!

I looked at your side earlier, and it's intimidating enough without fear of making a major error at QB! Your WR depth is pretty awesome.
Thanks Moot. I'm still not sure of my own mind on it - I know Cam is a fantasy beast on his day, but he's been a bit up and down lately. Flacco is consistent, but likely won't get me the rushing yards/TD Cam might.

Re: 606v2 East 2012 - NFL.com Fantasy Football Homepage
Afternoon all!
I've updated the latest standings in the original homepage post. A few wee observations:-
1. With All of the Lights and Raiders of the Lobbed Pass winning this week and The Travelling Medicine Show losing, we now have no perfect teams and no winless teams in the league. It also means that no team is more than 2 games off the top of their division so with a quarter of the season in the bag, every team is still very much in with a shout of winning their division.
2. Last season's champions, Shepton Mallet Matadors, are still looking for a bit of consistency. They find themselves bottom of their fivision 4 games but it's the tightest division and they're still very much in the mix with a .500 record.
3. Slightly more concern for last season's runners-up though, Bradfords Steaming Rams. They're 1-3 and could do with finding a winning formula soon. Still, being in the only division without a team with a winning record means that time is on their side.
4. Not sure whether to mention to this or not as it may look like I'm blowing my own trumpet but I will make the "Who is the current highest and lowest scorers" thing a regular feature...... the current highest scorers are my own team, RG3's Super Socks - quite how I've managed that I do not know but Brian Hartline's ludicrously insane stat line this week certainly helped. Current lowest scorers are Raiders of the Lobbed Pass.
Last thing, I finally got around to updating the draft bit of the homepage with who everyone took with their first 3 picks. As I was doing so I thought it might be kinda interesting to do a "4 weeks into the season draft report card" as it struck me that not everyone's draft will have turned out quite as they hoped and others will be feeling kinda pleased with themselves. Will try and get this up soon.

Nice summary 25. I noticed I was still rock bottom despite winning, but as you said, its all very close, espically div 2.
Really enjoying the comp this year, roll on week 5.

I can't believe you actually started Hartline... I had him on my bench in the West (very irritated, but still won my matchup), but I think he was started in a ludicrously small amount of leagues overall this week so you did well!

Re: 606v2 East 2012 - NFL.com Fantasy Football Homepage
I'd love to say I saw Hartline's monster week coming but I'll be honest, he was just the classic bye week roll of the dice. In this league I've got a solid group of RBs, a good QB and a good TE. I only have one WR that I can count on to deliver a decent score most weeks - Mike Wallace - and he was on his bye week. My options therefore were Hartline, Hankerson, Blackmon and Titus Young. Slim pickings!! The latter two have done next to nothing this season whereas Hartline and Hankerson were both at least likely to be one of their QB's favourite targets so I went with them. Couldn't believe it when I saw the points rolling in for Hartline.

Just spotted that points-leader RGIII wasn't in anyones first 3 picks (perhaps not unsurprisingly).
So had a quick look to see that he went Round 7, 89th pick to At Last a QB, appropriately enough!
Whats even more galling, I picked the 88th and plumped for Mark Ingram, who has amassed 14 points total (compared to RGIII's 104)...

Whilst I look forward to seeing this, I thought i'd do my own interim one whilst waiting...
Picks exceeding expectations - AJ Green (2nd round, top scoring WR), Gostkowski (11th round, top scoring kicker)
Picks doing ok - Eli Manning (5th round), Ray Rice (1st round), Ravens Def (8th round), Cedric Benson (6th round), Randall Cobb (waivers)
Picks who really are letting themselves down - Antonnio Gates (4th round), Jordy Nelson (3rd round)
Week 4 draft score - 6 out of 10 (was 7 out of 10 post draft!)

Which 2 or 3 out of these 5 RBs should I start? (it's slim pickings...)
Michael Turner
Shonn Greene
Peyton Hillis
Brandon Bolden
Bernard Pierce
Any insight appreciated here. I'm tempted by Bolden but I can't trust a Patriots running back.

Yeah, Greene has been a major bust so far. My thinking was that because the Jets suck so much at QB, they will rely on a run game, and he should get yards...wrong!
I'm thinking Pierce over Bolden, but either is a risk each week as to how many carries they will get.
My flex can be filled by one of Fleener, Manningham, or any of the RBs.

I shouldn't gloat.
But I will!
Can't help feeling right now that I'm actually quite pleased with how my team is and I'm fairly balanced going intot he bye weeks. That said, my draft could have been better. Time will tell though.

Nice doing business with you Lowland on the Bradshaw/Nicks trade. I think it's a good deal for us both. I need a WR and you need an RB. Both these guys will get a lot of touches when they're fully fit so should score well for us. The deal should help balance both our teams out a bit better I reckon. Cheers!

Wow you didn't actually try to veto a trade did you? The only time a trade should ever be stopped is if it's obvious collusion.TheBrahmaBull wrote:yeah they did i tried to stop the trade as i felt that it was unfair but hey ho lol

Quite a few people, myself included, tried to veto a trade in the Keeper league which was Aaron Rodgers AND Adrian Peterson for RGIII

Yeah no offense guys but it's really none of your business if your not involved in the trade, even if you believe they are being ripped off.TheBrahmaBull wrote:i just thought the other person was being ripped off and thought they would get a better a deal thats all, i did not do it so the other person would take my trade as i did not need him
Re: the keeper league trade, yup one team might have been getting the better half of that trade but it's not obvious collusion. It's not like it was Peterson and Rodgers for some scrub. How other owners manage their team and value players is nobody's concern but their own, if they want to make a particular trade its on them.

Re: 606v2 East 2012 - NFL.com Fantasy Football Homepage
I'm 100% with twelve on this one. I was the guy in the keeper league that gave up Rodgers and Peterson for RG3. Outlined my reasons why on that thread so won't go over it here but like twelve says, how I value players is really none of anyone else's business. I thought the reaction to that trade was more than a bit patronising. I've been watching football for over two decades so I'm not some rookie who has no clue about the game. Like I said at the time, the trade I made was a gamble but what's the point in fantasy footie if it's not fun??
As for the Brady/CJ2K trade, I had no problem with it. Skins4ever had Brady and RG3. He needed an RB. The CJ2K offer was the only one he had. He might as well take it and hope that CJ2K can capture his old form. If he does that then it's a great trade for Skins.

Haha! No worries Brahma - wasn't aiming anything at you there BTW. My only mild displeasure was with the reaction to my RG3 trade on the keeper league. Looks like last laugh is on me though seeing as he's now injured!!!

Really didn't have to think long considering I've got Redman and Ryan Williams starting this week because of Leshoure's bye. Hope Nicks heals up soon for you.Number-25 wrote:Nice doing business with you Lowland on the Bradshaw/Nicks trade.

this week only 2 teams (so far) are over 100 points, and they're playing each other!

Think I got lucky this week with the amount of guys Lowland had on bye!
I was expecting to wake up having lost - because there were like 5 points in it and Jimmy Graham had yet to play, and I was sure he'd get yards and a TD. He only got 1 reception for 4 yds...did he get injured?
There was a burst of about 5 minutes last night where Decker, Cook, and Manningham all went in for receiving TDs and it swung it my way. Even with Cam stinking the place up.

Well done Brahma! Just didn't happen for my lot this week. The Philly/Pittsburgh game was a killer for me - I have Big Ben, Mike Wallace and the Eagles D. Unfortunately for me, the Eagles D was stingy enough that they limited the impact of Big Ben and Wallace but not prolific enough themselves that they compensated for the loss of production of my two Steelers stars. In the end, all three combined for about 12 points!!
To rub salt in the the wounds, I had Andrew Luck on my bench..... he scored 28 points
Ah well, onwards to next week. Congrats again Brahma!

Didn't realise Janikowski was on a bye! Luckily I'm up by 20 with Schuab to go for twelve283 and Andre Johnson for me. Hope I don't rue this silly error!

After Marshall rescued me last Monday night, I need Foster to do the same tonight, down by 20 points with only Foster to go from both teams.

Yep, here I am hoping Graham gets 4 FG and a PAT (or similar) thanks to RGIII managing to get himself knocked out of the game. And CJ2K? As someone said, I took the only offer I got, and 2 good QB's was a luxury. But please, 0.9 points?!?!? This guy needs a new OL like Romney needs to watch out who's filming him! For all the stick Shanny has had over the OL in recent years, the Titans make him look like a genius.

Good news - managed to win a close one against At Last a QB, less then 2 points in it
Bad news - looks like i've lost my no. 2 RB (Benson) for 8 weeks

Wow, could the East be any tighter after 5 weeks?!?
Div 1, 2 game spread between top and bottom
Div 2 has a joint top 4 (3-2) with 5th place only one game behind...
Div 3 has a joint top 4 (2-3) with 5th place only one game behind...
Just checked the fixtures, all top placed teams in Div 2 play each other next week, bring it on...

I can't believe I'm top of the division...
it probably won't last - I face an Aaron Rodgers powered Steaming Rams team this week, and I don't reckon I'll be getting many points up

I saw that, and I benefit from White and Turner going up against my mighty Oakland defense. They couldn't stop anything against Denver, Pittsburgh or Miami so I reckon I could get some points there.
I still always worry about my run game though. I have gone Turner/Bolden. I just hope Bolden gets some carries!

I was kind of joking about the Texans being held to FG's on MNF - how close to the truth it turned out! No complaints, we both left points on thebench, but can't help thinking RGIII playing smarter (safer?) would have gotten me an easy win. Ho hum.
A bit peed off about my RB's. Draughn doing nothing (like the Chiefs really) so picked up S-H (given that the Card's #1 & #2 RB's are KO'd). Now do I risk him being fit and getting carries/catches this weekend, or take a chance on CJ getting yards on the Steelers. Wish I could play a spread formation in FF!
