Draft Info

The draft is scheduled to take place as follows:
Monday 3rd September 2012. 8.30pm BST (3.30pm EST when setting it via NFL.com)

Any requested change of draft date will need majority approval. Time is slightly more flexible if people can be up front about there likely schedule on the day... but appreciate we all have lives and they won't all coincide nicely.

1st round Draft order has been selected at random and then the snake format will do the rest.

Very pleased with a good win over 2 Addai for.

Not too sure what happened but Freeman went from 6 points in the 4th Q to 22 in a matter of minutes. Good contributions from all players for once, which makes a nice change.

Think there's a 3 way tie at 7-4 in Div2 now.

Oddly at 4-7 you are probably out of the running, whereas I could still sneak my division!

The biggest problem I've had is at RB, and thus the flex. The rest of my side have been ok through the year but neither Turner nor Greene have done anything special. Marcel Reece is probably ahead of them in the order now!

RB's have been a nightmare this season...

In Week 9 I had to pick 2 of Starks, Ingram or Woodhead...they scored 8.3 points between them and I lost by 50!!

I haven't had a problem at RB with Doug Martin and Stevan Ridley

My overall W-L-T is 62-81-0, the third worst in the league and I'm 7-4! Mainly its due to having the second least points scored against me- those in divsion 3 seem to have a lot points scored against them

Over in the West I have won my division this week with an overall 44-99 record, second lowest points scored (have been "leading" that stat every week until this one), but by far and away the least points scored against me (130 point cushion in that category!)

Had a look at your team and, well, you're even luckier than me!

Considering myself lucky considering I'm ranked #1 with the 5th lowest points for score! Having the lowest scored against explains it. Freaky.

Mornin all! Have updated the standings above for the first time in 3 weeks! Apologies for that.

Anyway, just thought I'd do a quick summary of what the playoffs would look like if the season ended today:-

Championship playoffs
1st round bye:- At last a QB (1) and Septon Mallet Matadors (2)

Wildcard round:- Rushden and Diamantis (3) v The Travelling Medicine Show (4); All Of The Lights (4) v 2 Addai 4 (5)


Consolation Playoffs

1st round bye:- Second Hand Secondary (1)and RG3's Super Socks (2)

Wildcard round:- Raiders of the Lobbed Pass (3) v Lowland Admirals (6); Chicago Vultures (4) v Almost perfect (5)

I'll be honest, the consolation playoffs seem the most pointless thing in the world to me so I'll understand if there's a lack of motivation to try too hard in them.....

Sorry Brahma, it's all over for you my friend. 3 division winners plus the 3 non-division winners with the best record go to the playoffs. The number 6 seed at the moment has a 7-4 record which means that with just 2 fantasy regular season games left, you can't catch them I'm afraid. You're also 3 games back in your division unfortunately. The playoff picture is still a real muddle but we do know that unfortunately, the following 5 teams are defo out of the running:-

Lowland Admirals
Chicago Vultures
Almost Perfect
Bradfords Steaming Rams
Second Hand Heroes

Two teams are clinging on by the skin of their teeth and need help from elsewhere to get in:-

RG3's Super Socks
Raiders of the Lobbed Pass

The remaining 7 all still have their destiny in their own hands as far as I can see.

Interestingly, there's only one game in the last 2 weeks where two teams in direct competition for a division title or wildcard spot face off against each other - Shepton Mallet Matadors v The Travelling Medicine Show in week 13. That one will be a winner takes all in terms of who finishes ahead of who regardless of how each of them gets on this weekend.

Raiders of the Lobbed Pass can still pip Rushden and Diamantis to the division title if they win both of their remaining games while Rushden and Diamantis lose theirs since the Raiders won the head to head match up earlier in the season.

RG3's Super Socks, while still in the playoff race, cannot win their division since they are currently 2 games behind At Last a QB and lost the head to head a few weeks ago so that guarantees that they will finish behind them at least.

At Last a QB, 2 Addai 4, All Of The Lights, Shepton Mallet Matadors, Second Hand Secondary and The Travelling Medicine Show are still very much in the hunt for their division titles.

What I am doing is hoping Smith can pick up 80 yards (or 20+ and a TD) tonight, else I might surrender the division lead. Ironically, the Panthers having a big offensive game against the Eagles helps me in more ways than 1 seeing as my 2 division rivals would both benefit from exactly the opposite!

Ok the permutations for this league are now mad! What I do know is that I can't win my division, but as the top two play each other next week, if I win, i'll have the same record as whoever loses. In this case who goes through to the playoffs?(assuming only 1 spot is available, which may or may not be the case)

I need Smith to less than 8 points to get into the playoffs in this league but to maintain an unbeaten streak in the keeper league I need him to get 24 points. 24 points is unlikely so I'm hoping for a poor game for him.

Also I think the tightness of you're league is personified by the fact that the 2nd overall ranked team overall is third in their division due to the tiebreakers changing priority because there are so many 7-4 teams!

One week to go, the Shepton Mallet Matadors are top seed in the East...

Unfortunately, however, its so tight at the top I could go into the playoffs on a bye, end up in quarter-final match or get dumped out entirely...

That's my understanding too Dave. What I'm not sure about is what happens when multiple teams end up tied on the same record and the head-to-heads are a muddle - does it just go straight to points scored??

Take it to the house - I had a look back and if you win next week then, based on the head to head, you would finish ahead of The Travelling Medicine Show if you finish level with them but behind Shepton Mallet Matadors if you finish tied with them. I haven't had the chance yet to get in about your tiebreakers with the other teams that you could finish level with but will try to do that this week. Have a horrible feeling though that the NFL website will end up sticking someone in the playoffs and none of us will understand why

My understanding is it tries its best to sort it out via head to head, at least lowering teams that have never beaten anyone in the mutli-team tie to below those who have some wins against each other.
It could be a bit of a muddle because the permutations for the final wild cards are surprisingly complex in all of our leagues, even though the divisions are all sorted in the Keeper and West leagues

Cheers sodhat, that was what I was hoping for as well but I got on a bit of a lucky streak. It makes up for my poor performance in our prediction league.

1.86 points to be precise. Won't bitch cuz we both left points on the bench, but theoretically my best team would have beaten yours. OR 20 more yards from Smith. In the end funny how I was part right - a good offensive game from the Panthers helped me avoid surrendering the division lead, but it wasn't enough to move to 9-3.

There is a possibility of there being 5 teams on 8-5 with 1 on 9-4 after today!!!

i lost to the Travelling Medicine Show by 13 points, which i wouldn't of done if i left my team alone rather then swapping Nelson for Myers prior to kickoff...

Finally got a win to end my 3 game losing streak and gets me into the playoffs!

Hard luck to All of the Lights who scored the most points but just missed out with a final game loss.

Oh well, at least I finished with a winning record. Suppose I can relax now and just enjoy the rest of the season without stressing about who I should pick for my fantasy team
