just had a peek at the West, mikey picked 4th and ended up with T. Brady (QB), M. Turner (RB), R. Bush (RB) as his first three
in the Keeper, 4th Pick went with R. Rice (RB), M. Jones-Drew (RB), W. Welker (WR)
be interesting to see how ours compares with the West/Keeper Leagues....
Remember the keeper had less players... so my 4th overall keeper team looks much more fabulous

Re: 606v2 East 2012 - NFL.com Fantasy Football Homepage
So how did everyone rate their own draft??
I'm awarding myself a 7 out of 10.
Mostly happy, but for a few picks I would of traded back if I could have as I didn't really want who was available at that moment. Last year I was the first to pick a TE, Def and K, this year I felt I was playing catch up the whole draft! Also, I kept forgetting about the Bye week, and had to pick an extra WR as 3 of mine were on a week 10 bye!
Best pick(s) - Jordy Nelson (3rd round, pick 32)
Worst pick(s) - Greg Little (10th round, pick 137) & Mark Ingram (7th round, pick 88)

i'm slightly ahead in the scoring predictions, but seeing as these mean next to nothing, it could go either way...

Re: 606v2 East 2012 - NFL.com Fantasy Football Homepage
I'd say mine was around a 7 too.
I was fairly happy to pick up Cam Newton, but I'm wary of a sophomore slump this year. I have a solid back up in Joe Flacco however. My RBs could be a little hit or miss, although I'm hopeful Greene will be running it plenty for the Jets. Eric Decker I like and I get the impression he is going to be a redzone target for Manning this year from their hookups in pre-season. Roddy White will get me yards, and I hope Heyward-Bey and Manningham will get their looks too.
I ended up with the Steelers defence, and I sense the consensus to be that they are a declining unit...just one more big year please...

Pretty happy with my draft, quality qb with Rivers in round 5, 3 first choice rb's with Foster, Jackson and Donald Brown and 3 first choice wr's with Marshall, Bowe and Torrey Smith. Hoping Tamme has good year with Manning throwing to him again.

Re: 606v2 East 2012 - NFL.com Fantasy Football Homepage
I'm not sure what I make of my drafy to be honest. Initially I was kinda happy with it but the more I look at it, the more I can see where it could all go wrong for me.
I'll give myself a 6 out of 10.
Last year I struggled all year at RB as I only had one who started for his team every week so I was determined not to let that happen this year hence the reason why I went heavy on RBs early this year. Have got 3 guys who will start every week - Murray, Bradshaw and McGahee so I'm kinda pleased about that even though none of them are proper blue chip players and certainly, Murray and Bradshaw both could prove to be a bit too fragile going on past record.
Was pleased to get Big Ben when I did (5th round I think) - he should hopefully put up good numbers for me and be good value. Steelers running game is a bit of a mess just now so that should mean Ben is throwing a lot.
I'm kind of light at WR though and that's where I could get killed. Got autodrafted Mike Wallace when I ran out of time with my pick. Might not be a terrible thing given that I think the Steelers might have to throw it more than they would like. Depends to what extent Wallace is targetted though after his offseason troubles.
Blackmon could be anything. He could be a star or a bust. If his preseason form carries into the regular season then he'll have been good value for me.
I took Andrew Luck. Not particularly sure why. Just cos I think he could be good and it'll make it more interesting for me watching how he does this year!! Also, if he becomes the best rookie QB ever (very unlikely!) then I can feel nice and smug.
Took a couple of Redskins RBs. At least one of them should see a lot of playing time so potentially I have another starting RB there. Shanahan's RBs are always best avoided in fantasy terms but by grabbing two of his three I'm hoping I might stumble on a decent contributer.
Then there's the Gronk.... my 1st round pick. I could have had Darren McFadden but was scared off by his injury history and I didn't want a repeat of last year when I was so short of RBs. The Gronk should basically post numbers that are better than most WRs so I'm hoping that will give me a bit of an edge in a lot of match ups. After him and Graham, there's quite a steep drop off in TE production so I really wanted one of those two TEs and then see if I could find good WR value in the middle rounds.
I'm hoping my sleeper pick could be Titus Young. He showed promise this year and that number 2 WR spot at the Lions is defo up for grabs. Nate Burleson doesn't exactly convince so it's all there for Young if he wants it.
Oh, and I took Randy Moss. Just on the off chance he surprise us all and becomes half the player he once was. If he does, then he might be a decent guy to plug in here and there. I'm not holding my breath though.
Was pleased to pick up the Eagles D and Rob Bironas in the last two rounds. Hopefully they'll be solid.
I'll give myself a 6 out of 10.

Couldn't make the draft so I was fearing the worst, but with Megatron, Nicks, Bryant and Graham I'm pretty happy with my receivers and Matt Ryan in the 5th is an absolute steal imo. RB isn't looking so good though.

i reckon you've done pretty good, Bears Def and Akers help as well
i picked a QB at the start of the 5th, i did contemplate Ryan and Rivers but plumped for Eli...

Relatively happy with my draft seeing as it was my second one ever. Putting my trust in Michael Vick! Do we have to finalise our teams before tomorrows game?

Only the ones who are playing tomorrow. You can leave the rest until right before their respective games, late starter news etc

Must admit, I was kinda gutted cos I was picking right behind you and was gonna take Ryan but saw it coming that he was going to go to you with the autopick. Still, I was happy enough getting Big Ben instead.
I had a look at your team after the draft as was curious to see how it panned out with the autopick but I'd say it's about the best autopicked team I've seen and you've been pretty lucky. In a 14 team league, you can't be deep at both RB and WR. Everyone has to have a compromise somewhere and hope they hit it lucky. My compromise is at WR.

Also, just wanted to mention that I was dead chuffed that we had such a good turnout for the draft especially with the late change day and time. Getting 13 out of 14 there is good going so well done everyone!

I'll second that. Quality evening!!
It was only my second draft, but it's becoming a real end-of-summer highlight
(shows how much I get out these days!!).

Great turnout overall really. Shouldn't be any inactive like last year.
We had 12 of 14 in the West, but we knew we'd be missing two as Forward Pass was busy and Cherries has previously stated he is away for a couple of weeks.
Great news

Pretty happy with my team.
Bit light at QB but have good options at RB and WR.
If anyone has a QB available i'd be up for a trade.

Was a pretty interesting draft overall
The BrahmaBull(Chicago Vultures)- Thinking about your trade offer but i'll probably reject it- Forte is probably the most reliable player on my team!

I (Shepton Mallet Matadors) don't really want to lose Eli M, but if the deals crazy then who knows, but i also have the far cheaper Josh Freeman, not that you probably want him..

after wednesday's game, i've just lowered Eli's trade price...by about 50%

Bit light at QB but have good options at RB and WR.
If anyone has a QB available i'd be up for a trade.
I (RG3's Super Socks) have Andrew Luck and might be open to offers on him..... grab him now before he becomes like Cam Newton did last year - untradeable!

An opening win for me last night. Well pleased with that! Got good performances from all 3 RBs that I played as well as from the Eagles D. Also got solid enough performances from Big Ben and the Gronk. Could do with a bit more from my WRs. Alfred Morris was my star man - 96 yards and 2 TDs. Not bad for an 11th round pick or wherever it was I bagged him - it was certainly in the draft's lower reaches anyway.

Thought RB would be a problem for me, and boy was it. Really need to find something there. Just have to hope Matt Ryan keeps playing like this.

Wow, I checked out your backs after seeing this and they are very questionable! Your stacked at WR/TE though and Ryan as a QB ain't bad... I'm high on him this year and was targeting him in drafts

I almost feel the need to apologize to TheBrahmaBull... having pipped him 83.32 to 83.22 in Game one..!!
I thought I was dead and buried after the Sunday games, but a combination of Ray Rice, Ravens D and Antonnio Gates did (just) enough.
Needless to say it was by far the lowest winning score in Week 1

Its the system of picking up free agents for your team as a replacement for one of your current team.
You basically stack up a list of claims for various players you might like and then the CPU works out who gets who based on an ordered list which is initially formed on the inverse of the current standings (i.e. worst first).
It looks at the guy in position 1/14 and gives them there top ranked waiver claim if they have one and chucks them to the back of the waiver priority list. It then moves onto person 2/14 and so on.
If you haven't made a waiver claim it skips you from the list but does not put you to the back of the priority list (like it would if you claimed a player). This is useful for the second waiver period in a given gameweek as you will have a higher priority than anyone who made one claim.
If the player at the top of your list has been taken when your number 1 in the priority list (or the lowest ranked team trying to claim someone) it moves down your personal waiver claim list until it can complete a transaction (if there is one left that can actually be made) before moving onto the next guy in the list. If when it's your turn you can't make a transaction (due to players being taken by other) despite having tried you are skipped.
The cycle keeps repeating until there are no more possible waiver moves.
The priority order resets each Wednesday morning (like 12am late Tuesday) just prior to the first round of waiver claims being made. During other midweek waiver periods the order is based on the current history of waiver claims. The first player to get priority in the second waiver period of each week will be the team with the worst record who made no waiver claims in the first period or if all 14 teams made one successful claim in the first period it will be the team who had it's final waiver claim executed the furthest from the end (in other words the team given 14/14 priority would be the final waiver move made during the first cycle)
You can "stack" waiver claims. So for example if you have lets say the Bills defence you can add waiver claims for say 4 FA defenses and select the Bills as the player to drop as part each one.
This basically means your guaranteed to drop the Bills defence, with the player you pick up based on the highest FA defence on your stacked list that hasn't been picked up by someone with a higher claim than you on the waiver cycle

effectively.
You have until Wednesday morning (as in tonight!) to put your claims in. If nobody ranked higher has the player you want, then you will get him

Noticed none of you guys have updated your trade blocks - is that just because you're happy with your team?
