Froch deserves an easy fight???????
First topic message reminder :
My last contribution got 1 less then o responses but I am not going away that easily.
Carl Froch is to meet Yusef Mack in November. Mack is a fringe contender at best. Handy but not handy enough you would think to beat an elite level fighter in Froch so I am left surprised at this match up. Yet people I talk to are quick to say that Froch deserves an easy, gimmie fight due to the big fights he has been involved with in the last 5 years.
Rubbish! This train of thought should be eradicated from all things boxing related. Can someone justify such a ludicrous statement? Boxing is all about levels. When you reach the top you face the best and you get PAID the best rates. I can't get my head around thios. Froch has what maybe 2 or 3 fights left in him. Sure this fight is at home and will sell out but does nothing for Froch's well built record.

A mate of mine met God the night after his 21st Birthday. He's not touched a drop since. Good bloke God apparently.

rowley wrote:Gordy this is just getting silly now. I have in the past provided you with direct quotes from Eubank’s own autobiography where he admits he did not want to fight Roy Jones and would have only done so in the event Jones was his mandatory. This is a recorded, written and published point of fact straight from the horse’s mouth. If you want to believe Eubank would have beaten Roy fine, you’re in the minority but are entitled to your opinion but don’t argue or suggest Chris was chomping at the bit for the opportunity as it is demonstrably untrue.
I have no real issue if you want to occupy this strange world where nobody who fought outside the early nineties had any talent and anyone who has fought outside of this period on Sky is a joker but don’t lie or ignore facts to support your arguments as it is not debating and is only going to raise the ire of the other users of the board.
Yes Jeff, but is Eubank an expert?
Perhaps Gordy can clarify..

Leave me alone. I tried to do safe populism with my Lewis thread, never again I tell you.

I heard from Adam that you were drunk with power and demanded that you be allowed a break from moderating to play in the IPL.
Re: Froch deserves an easy fight???????
Considering he's facing a guaranteed rematch with Bute afterwards in Canada and Mack is essentially a fight to keep Froch active before then he can be forgiven. Those who whine would do well to remember that we're treated to far worse in the modern corruption pool, namely the Tavoris Clouds who try to sell Yusaf Mack as a legitimate title challenge rather than filler between big fights.

I'm sure fans are just preying that what looks like the technical contest of the year isn't spoiled by Dawson coming in weak. You'd be a bit concerned looking at that slender frame, but let's take him at his word that he's going to be even better at this weight. That would be a good thing.
I guess the guy who might beat Ward is the one who can keep some distance and prevent Ward from fighting his way inside, at least it would improve his chances you'd think. That is certainly Dawson's kind of fight, he has the speed and footwork. Even then mind Ward is frustrating for his opponents, perpetually out of range. Either just outside or inside(where he's second to none,) rarely affording his opponent a target. That's part of his genius. Dawson has a helluva reach mind.
Some fights you can see in your head, but it's difficult to envisage how this one will go. At least for me. Will be keeping my money in my pocket because Dawson can look top drawer at his best, is improving, and this fight could make him. Surely no better time to produce the performance of his career. He brings a style which Ward might not have seen before which is also of interest. Not going to go against Ward who has a habit of making extremely good fighters look ordinary, nor would I argue with anyone who thinks this one might be close. Uber interesting fight.

To any mod: Can I move this to to the Dawson v Ward thread: Who Got Dis?
Thanks. Put it on the wrong thread.
