First topic message reminder :

Scroll Down and there is a picture of Manu and Antony Allen wearing a new kit , its probably the training one but im pleasantly surprised.
Does anyone know when the New playing kit if officially being released?
Edit 19/9/12: the New kit is out http://www.v2journal.com/canterbury-launch-new-england-rugby-kit.html

Whats the RRP?
I'm tempted to get one and I haven't bought an England shirt since the 2003 RWC.

I've never bought an England shirt. Every time i pick one up off the rack a little voice says to me "It's a white t-shirt for £50, put it down..."
I married her 3 years ago by the way.
Now i may invest in the change kit, it's a classic guys, come on!!!!!

You're in luck HERSH, I'm sitting next to CCC's marketing manager. £90 for the "test" jersey and £55 for the "pro" one us "media types" have been given.

What about the sizes?
I think the Test shirt might not suit my figure anymore if it is anything like the nike ones.
Say well done for bring back the dark blue socks.
I'll be buying a pair of them for sure.
Cheers Pete

The 7s team will be playing in the new kit at the Gold Coast 7s next month, Eng women play in it vs France at Esher Nov 3, while Eng men will presumably wear the away kit vs Fiji Nov 10.

Re: Englands Canterbury Kit
Not a big fan of the alternate or sevens shirts, but the home shirt is pretty much perfect, best in a long while and definitely trumps Nike's efforts (except the LE 100th anniversary kit). No bib or piping like the doomsayers were telling us was a foregone conclusion, and an interesing rose decal in the grippy stuff on the chest that is more apparent on the Canterbury website.
Do we think we'll get the alternate strip first off against Fiji to create the biggest media stir or will they want their first showing to be the white? We shouldn't really see the alternate strip until the Argentina tour next year otherwise.

Re: Englands Canterbury Kit
the interesting rose decal on the grippy stuff is for the 90quid shirt only
55quid... jeez.
Bet they cost £5 to make
I like the white tee with the rose front and center. its not in the shop and all images of it have gone (Waldrom wore it) although one person wears it in the england is all section http://www.canterbury.com/press/victor-amuzu-pbl104/
I like the white Tee with the red piping, but the Home kit is fairly dull and made duller by the lack of the rose styling on the grip.

They should have stuck with Black.
Black kits sell well, purple, pink or grey don't.

The rose decal is on the £55 shirts as well, you can see it on the zoom shots and it's more evident on the purple versions. It's fainter in the pictures because the grippy stuff is different (actually grippy on the test shirts, which will wear, but etched on the £55 versions) and doesn't show up as well in the lighting.

I reckon it probably shows up better in real life, the bright lighting they use for photo shoots washes out same colour details, especially white on white and with a white backdrop. The proper grippy stuff shows up better because it's shiny under the same bright lighting.

The Rose on the pro shirt is pretty bright and "showy", I didn't get a chance to see it held up against Robshaw's one admittedly.
I'm just working my way thru the promotional material and for those who like collars there will be a "classic" version.

Re: Englands Canterbury Kit
They seem to have hit the nail on the head with the home shirt, great first effort. I'm surprised at their choice of an away kit though, a bit of reserach would surely have shown that Nike didn't sell many in a similar shade. Hopefully it will be changed when they produce similar sales. The 7s shirts are an odd one, they've got a bit of World War dazzle camouflage about them (given Tigers' shirts there must be a military fan in Canterbury's design team), at least they're not Tequila Sunrise or neon yellow & purple though.

Really cool shirt. I hated a lot of Canterbury's shirts and was actually glad they weren't the NZ kit sponsor any more, but they've done really well with the England kit. Still laugh seeing three Kiwis on the shirts of rival teams though.
90 quid for the authentic one though-wowsers. Just totally exorbitant.

The away kit has grown on me already. I think that it looks alot better on the Canterbury wesbite than it did in the RFU photo of Danny Care.

That's what i thought, the RFU photo really doesn't do it any justice.

No, that's what I thought- it looked a little better in the dailymail link you posted. Still not sure if I'll be buying it though!

Yeah, with a jacket on you would look like an Arsenal fan! I don't generally buy tops anyway. Just think they're a waste of money. I already spend a fortune on tickets as it is. My conscience (the Wife) just won't allow me to spend £50 on a white t-shirt!

I don't mind the Away shirt, i've always had a soft spot for that Burgundy/Purple colour.
I really like the idea of the 7's shirt being different to the 15's. Wales should do something similar i reckon, not the colour scheme though

In answer to HERSH's sizes question from yesterday, the "pro" (£55, or a bit less if you go direct a certain major sportswear retailer's website) shirt is available in XXXL.

Also good to see that Canterbury didn't incorporate their ridiculous baby bib into it.
Hopefully this signals the end to it
