OWGR - Week #35
Did I miss something? A lot apparently... What a top of a leaderboard!
Fantastic win once again from Rory! Is this the begining of a more consistently dominant (and winning) McIlroy?
Nowhere left for him to move up to, but as I said already, this means he is guarranteed now to remain at #1 regardless of what happens this week at the BMW... Great tournament for king Louis as well, moving now to #11, but very, very, very,...very, close to #10. Lucky Donaldson somehow hangs on to #50 spot, great for him! But no such luck for Darren Clarke, out of the top 100 and God knows if/when we'll see him back there again...
And as mentioned, congrats also to Richie Ramsay for that great win in Switzerland and to KT Kim who must enjoy the return to winning ways on the Japanese tour after a pretty long break by his standards. Both remain on the same positions mentioned yesterday, #68 and #64, respectively. And finally, well done to Robert Streb winner on the Web.com Tour, moving up somewhere around #260...
The OWGR table after week #35 should look as follows (had a few drinks in town tonight so I hope I didn't make any mistakes )

Re: OWGR - Week #35
Bye bye Darren, hope you return but wouldn't put money on it.
Gary Woodland must be due for the exit also.
Before you know it, we'll be looking at the Top 50 for 2012 Masters exemptions; would think Donaldson just needs one more big result to make it, but Dyson and Laird must be among those slipping out shortly unless they can arrest their slide.
Surprised to see Phil treading water after yesterday, but pleased to see Jason Day begin to reap the rewards of a season horribilis, Toms and KJ Choi also.
Thanks as always pd, latinoamerica this week!

Re: OWGR - Week #35
Cheers, kwini. We'll keep an eye on the latinamerican fiesta.
Just a quick note before anything else, to say that Tiger is moving past Luke to #2 this week after the points amortization, and Luke will need to finish between ~4-6 points (~4 if they finish in the lower side of the LB or ~6 pts or even more if they'll end up around the top of the LB) ahead of him if he wants to keep his second spot. Also king Louis is moving up past Stricker to #10 after the same weekly points amortization is accounted for...

Re: OWGR - Week #35
I see Ryo Ishikawa has continued his poor form in Japan. Missed two cuts on Japn Tour after his American Tour.
Down to #83.

Re: OWGR - Week #35
Early count:
- BMW @ ~70 pts (up from 66 pts last year)
- KLM @ ~30 pts (down from 40 pts last year)
Rory stays at #1 regardless.
Made a mistake earlier... Tiger will move to #2 if Luke finishes less than ~2.5 pts ahead of him, e.g. if Tiger MC, Luke needs a top ~40 or so to stay #2. If they both finish much higher than that (i.e top 5 or so), then Luke needs 7-8 pts ahead to stay #2...
Anyone between #5 and #11 could move to #4 with a win at BMW...

Re: OWGR - Week #35
Great to see Eddi Molinari re-joining Franny next week at the Italian Open. Otherwise, Karlsson is joining Kaymer this week and next in Netherlands and Italy...

Tiger must be needing some dosh to offset his divorce settlement, as he seems to be applying himself well in a quest to win the fedex pot.

VJ could climb as high as #37 with a win this week (same goes for Gonzo if he wins in NL).
Lefty could move back inside the top 10 with same...

Re: OWGR - Week #35
With the win in Holland, I think Hanson passed Molinari for the highest ranked player that is not a member of the US PGA Tour.
But good news for the PGAT, he will be a member next year. I think Kaymer will join the tour as well.
PGAT is getting stronger and Stronger.
I believe Colsaerts is eligible for Timberlakes tournament but he is not listed in the Preliminary field and if he does, he could earn enough to play the tour next year (not sure of his plans for next year).
I think both Molinari's also want to join PGAT.

Re: OWGR - Week #35
Actually, apart from Hanson, Paul Lawrie is slipping ahead of Franny this week as well... At least based on how keen he was to play the US Open this year, I doubt he'll be joining that particular trend very soon...

Re: OWGR - Week #35
Eddie Molinari would have to slog through Q-school; he's supposed to make his comeback in Italy this week, but it would hardly make sense for him to try Q-School unless fully fit.
