Ross Chisholm Signs for Two More Seasons
Brilliant news for Quins fans as ANOTHER academy boy comes through the ranks and signs up for the future!
Current age 21 years 321 days
Major teams Harlequins
Position Fullback
Height 6 ft 0 in
Weight 198 lb
Harlequins fullback Ross Chisholm has penned a new two-year deal with the Aviva Premiership champions.
Chisholm will remain at the Stoop until the end of the 2014-15 season and will hope to add to his current tally of 24 appearances for the club. He crossed the line five times for Quins last season - including one memorable score against Gloucester - and Conor O'Shea is delighted that the 21-year-old has opted to stay put.
"Ross is another prodigious talent who is always looking to improve and become a better player," said O'Shea. "He does what we all like to see in a fullback which is that first and foremost he does his basics well. Once you have that you have a chance as a fullback, but when you run lines and have the pace that Ross has, then you can compete anywhere across the back three.
"Whether it be Ross putting pressure on Mike Brown and the senior wingers at the club or Luke Wallace doing so to our experienced back rowers, our recent re-signings can only be good news for the short and long term future of the team."
Chisholm added: "I've benefited from my time in the Harlequins academy, in particular the hours spent working on basic skills and tactical awareness with coaches and mentors, all of which has helped me develop my game. We're a relatively young squad with great confidence and belief in each other. It is going to be another exciting year for the club and I am delighted to have re-signed."
As a wild prediction I can see him in the Saxons within two years.
He is probably best known for this try... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV0XrH6bCDY (1.23min in)

His brother James is somewhere in the younger academy ranks too isn't he? I've heard he's a bit of a beast of a backrower.

Yea he was in the A game last night and played well by all accounts. He's in the Eng U18 squad as well so we might see a bit of him in a season or two.

I can see him being on the first choice bench this season and hopefully Brown will get more a rest than he usually gets.

Yea it should be interesting if he gets some game time Chequered/
Thunor I imagine Sat's performance will mean that Chisholm is either benched or starting every weekend as he covers wing and fb better then most of the rest of the squad. Not sure what to make of Smith and Stegmann only being in the A team, maybe they had poor preseasons.

A very exciting talent - far more so than Smith and Stegmann. He's got a bit of physical presence about him as well as unusual pace.
