It could well be just like you say.
Especialy with Gatland being in charge of the Lions and not incharge of Wales.
How bad woulkd that reflect on Gatland though?

To be fair, that is how the official table currently stands

Re: 6 Nations
AL, quite possible. I am sure they will rise from their current, official, position of 6th.

Re: 6 Nations
Look at the link i posted above of the official 2012/13 table
(ps for those unaware - I am posting tongue in cheek, and currently the official table has all teams on 0 points so ranks them alpabetically)

Re: 6 Nations
But thats only alphabetically... trophies arent won because a teams name starts with a letter higher up the alphabet.
If anyone was to suggest that England are the best team in that lineup then they would have to be a idiot.

If anyone were to seriously suggest England are the best team because they top an alphabetic table, yes they would indeed be idiots.

Maybe, but England are ABOVE Wales in the IRB rankins. Right.
Only an Idiot would not realise that makes England overall a better team than Wales right,.

Re: 6 Nations
As the runners up last year (winners the year before), and the highest ranked European side in the IRB rankings currently, England winning the 6Ns is eminently possible.
Certainly more likely than Wales continuing to prop up the table.

Re: 6 Nations
But England havent played either New Zealand or Australia for ages, whereas Wales has.
By only playing countries further down the rankings, England are being tested at a much lower standard.

Nah I was just trying make it obvious how tongue in cheek I was being about a rather silly matter - and failed. Now a silly topic is in danger of getting serious, so i will depart with a flick of my cape and a twirl of my evil 'tache.

Re: 6 Nations
My first comment about agreeing with the post, was that it could well turn out to be that way with Gatland not being in charge of Wales during the 6ns.
And like i said how would it look if Wales did end up with the wooden spoon,.....due to Gatland being in charge of the Lions and not Wales.

Re: 6 Nations
I actually think you make a good point, Gatlands a savy man, has the welsh coaching team in his pocket and recognises the welsh players in general are the leaders in most positions at this point.
Unless certain players outperform their abilities in the AI's the welsh boys will start to be managed from December onward, meaning reduced playing time in the 6N possibly.
Wales may struggle if Gatland convinces the welsh coaching team to manage 15 players or so for his tour.

Re: 6 Nations
Gatland had the WRU's blessing to accept the Lions job long before he actually did so it wouldn't raise issues of loyalty or commitment imo. If anything, Wales performing poorly during his absence would only reflect positively on his influence as head coach.
Got two tough fixtures in the first two weeks. Beating the French in Paris would give the boys a massive confidence boost, possibly one potent enough to spur them on to the Slam/championship. No disrespect to Scotland or Italy, both pose potential stumbling blocks away. I'm still confident we'll come away with the win in both cases.
England in Cardiff on the final day has the potential to be a massive decider.

No, the world rankings only tell us how England and Wales compare to other nations. The only test of what makes a team 'overall better' than another is the result against each other. The most recent result would obviously be the best baromoeter of that. And Wales won. On your patch

The bolded bit is hypocritical. It's funny you should talk about idiots. Only an idiot would write out consistent jibberish like this and think they was a clever/comical WUM; maj...
And nice touch laurie, really enjoyed that England jibe.

Can we all leave the idiot calling out of the conversation please.
Rather use diplomacy.
Diplomacy is the art of sending someone to hell and back and making them look forward to the trip.
