Good experience for Laura to build from. Hopefully she will fully recover from her shoulder strain.

Another thread hypothesized that before one can become a true champion you have to suffer some big loses. Maybe this is just one of those loses Laura has to "suffer" in order to become a "true champion".
Using this theory one can apply it to Novak Djokovic. He won his first Grand slam title aged 20 at the AO 2008. This win set his career back in aiming to become a true champion ... as it took him eleven grand slam tournaments to get back into a GS final ... and twelve to win another. At that stage he became a "true champion".

I agree. It's not a big loss in terms of a straight sets hiding, but the fact she was so close yet so far makes it a tough one to take. It's all about how she bounces back and I don't think it will get her down for too long.

It isnt tough to take TSJ. Hsieh always had the advantage. The timezone and jet leg affects you, and Hsieh is from Taiwan so isnt affected.Should have been straight sets but Laura made it a match.

Re: New British No 1: Laura Robson
She had two weeks between losing to Stosur and her first match here. I appreciate that you can't just spend too much time acclimatising to timezones or anything, but to use the timezone and jet lag seems like a problem you could have eradicated.

She'll be annoyed she lost it from 3-0 up in the 3rd.
