Countries for Reboot

Zidane - Italy
Russell - Germany
Treble - Germany
Marky - Spain
Nadeem - England
Olly - Italy
Hero - Spain
Gregers - Spain
Fernando - England
Sodhat - Italy
Twist - Germany
Viva - England
Afro - Italy
Bull - Germany
New Player - Spain
Tooze - England

Here’s how it basically works.
You have a budget of 100m to purchase a squad with the following stipulations:

1. You MUST have a minimum of 6 players from the country designated to you.
2. You MUST have a minimum of 3 players that were born on or after 1st October 1991.
3. You CANNOT go over the squad limit of 25.

To buy your squad then you must make sealed bids for the players. How this works is that you check the value of the players on TM, the MINIMUM cost is what their value is on there, but you can bid more than that as others may wish to buy that player. The maximum value of a player that you can bid for is £12m although may wish to bid more than that in order to acquire him.
So for example;
Bull places a sealed bid of 875k for Paul Scholes as that is the TM value.
Viva places a sealed bid of 1m for Scholes as he thinks others may be bidding for him.

Viva therefore wins.

ALL squads are PM’d to myself and a designated neutral party (to ensure fairplay I will send my squad list first so it cannot be said I’ve gazumped anyone). I then reveal who has got which player in the first draft.
We continue the process until everyone has then spent up and we move onto the Star Player bid which works under the same principle although you have a budget of 25m + whatever remained from your normal bids for ONE player who has a value up to 25m

Twist, I didn't go for any big name Germans. Went for decent players like Rolfes, Westermann, Kießling, Weidenfeller to build my squad really, they'll be first teamers but my best players aren't German.

What about you?

I went the opposite....went big for names like Draxler and Holtby. Also went for Rolfes, but I decided against Kiebling.

Went for Huth and Tasci as my German CB pairing.

I was surprised that you guys didn't go for Draxler and Holtby. In the end I paid much more than I needed to pay for them.

I'm a big fan of Kießling, nearly signed him on here previously when I needed another option to Welbeck but went against it. Draxler for me isn't really worth his TM value, but Holtby is a very good player and maybe with hindsight I should have gone for him. I would have probably been gazumped though.

GSC, what's your point?

I think Kiesling is limited, but has his strengths. He's a bit like the German Peter Crouch. Holtby will be a good choice as will Rolfes, but I think Draxler is the best choice for a German player.

He's German, he's u21, he's a really top player, a better player than Gotze IMO.

I don't agree with this at all. He was only worth 2.2m on TM. Surely that is worth a punt of 4m at least? I went for 6.6m but who at the moment is on form, playing regular, U21 and worth less than 7m?

Not saying bid stupid money for him, but it was worth a punt surely?

Kießling is clinical in front of goal and good in the air, won the top scorer a couple of years back, and has just had a very good season. Holtby and Rolfes are both very good players IMO, but I don't know about Draxler, I think he's a good player but I don't think he's quite on the top level. Just my two pence though.

That's fair enough. It's all about different opinions. I don't think Kiesling is clinical. He is great in the air, but you have to play to his strength orhe becomes a passenger.

Do others not think I was right to say that? I mean you can't lose surely? You bid what you are comfortable with and if you lose out, you go for someone else.

I just don't see the logic at NOT going for the rated players. And I think I am right in saying Sterling is rated.

The only down side is that it might stop you going for an alternative who you could get, but then goes in first draft

Right guys I'm about to post up the teams on a new thread.

The guide is as follows

If it's in normal font, then you got the player
If it's in italics then currently you are tied with another person for the player and will have to submit a new private bid prior to the 2nd draft for that player.
If it's in bold then sorry you didn't get that player.

Please though remember there may be players that have slipped through the net so if you do spot an error then let me know asap and if you are affected by it don't grumble over it.
