I don't think his decision not to appeal has any bearing on his guilt. He'll have been advised by his club to accept the decision and move on.
Crimey,
Only JT KNOWS if he's innocent or guilty, and i have been standing up for him here..........however, to accept a guilty verdict for such a serious charge tells me he probably is guilty..................you would fight it to the end otherwise surely??

Re: John Terry banned for 4 games
He always knew he was guilty- making up that story after the Youtube video came out, with the story coincidentally shaped exactly so the key thing JT says ('did you call me') just happens to be at the time the camera blocked his face.
Anyway from his face expression you can tell he wasn't asking a question, and the fact he admitted they were in a heated argument a few seconds earlier with AF calling JT a cheat, makes it blatantly obvious I'm afraid.

Anyway overall I think it was pretty clear from the beginning JT was guilty;https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0z_Y2dk-aQ
To make it clear, at the start JT is calling AF a f*cking knobhead (which he admits), then Cole blocks the camera. Then JT says the words 'f*cking black c*nt.'
We are meant to believe in the moment Cole blocked the camera's view from JT, Terry said the words 'did you call me?'
Total and absolute nonsense.
You'll either have to be a huge John Terry fan, or simply delusional to not accept that now.
First of all, i have for most of my life been a Man Utd fan, i am not a JT fan, just thought the FA charge was wrong..................seeing as JT has not appealed, im inclined to believe his guilt

So Top Hat,
What did the Magistrate mean in his summing up when he called Terry a "credible witness"??..................did he mean "a credible witness but only credible insofar as the word "credible" can be used under the burden of proof rules i am operating under which means "a damn liar" if it were a civil trial".....................
Maybe that was it

I'm not sure they did call him a credible witness. In fact, I think the only time that phrase was used was when they claimed that Ashley Cole wasn't a credible witness.

It Must Be Love wrote:I don't think we can portray Howard Riddle's decision in the court as proving John Terry as 'innocent' at all; more like he cannot prove it beyond doubt that John Terry was guilty.
Here is another extract from the case file, on page 6:To summarize:
There is no doubt the words “F**king black c**t” were directed at Mr
Ferdinand.
Overall I found Anton Ferdinand to be a believable witness on the
central issue.
It is inherently unlikely that he should firstly accuse John Terry of calling him a black c**t, then shortly after the match completely deny that he had made such a comment, and then maintain that false
account throughout the police investigation and throughout this trial.
There is no history of animosity between the two men. The supposed
motivation is slight.
Mr Terry’s explanation is, certainly under the cold light of forensic
examination, unlikely. It is not the most obvious response. It is
sandwiched between other undoubted insults.
I believe that he is an unwilling witness, and would have preferred that
this matter not come to court.

Re: John Terry banned for 4 games
Top Hat/Crimey,
I did find it in his conclusion...........at the end of the 3rd last paragraph Mr. Riddle says "i have assessed John Terry as a credible witness".
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/9398132/John-Terry-found-not-guilty-of-racism-the-verdict-in-full.html
Having said all that, an innocent man wouldn't throw in the towell now to such a serious charge..........

Re: John Terry banned for 4 games
Yes they did call JT a 'credible witness.' However if you actually read the context, earlier in the paragraph he says this:
This is what is implied when JT is a 'credible witness' not that he is necessarily a truth-teller, or that his story is definitely 'credible.'
He has given effectively the same account throughout.
