Hatton V Senchenko
Looks like this is the comeback fight for our Richard.
Sensible option?

Am by no means an expert on Senchenko but this would seem sensible, is not exactly going in at the deep end but is not a roll over by any stretch. Seems a decent comeback opponent to me, winnable without being pointless

I think althought won't appeal to the lay person, this is a better fight then Kats and will provide us with more info on whether has still got what it takes. Someone who is natural welterweight and has held a world title there, and someone who isn't turning up to make the numbers.

Re: Hatton V Senchenko
Who would have thought it? An entirely reasonable option. Got to applaud this one - a recent title holder, eminently beatable, but still with some sort of a name, who should present a decent test. Even if he doesn't still have what it takes, Hatton is unlikely to get badly hurt against Senchenko, who is hardly a concussive puncher.
Ricky will know that if he can't do the job convincingly against this opponent, he will have been told the truth about his future aspirations.

Agreed that whilst it won't be as entertaining as a Katsidas fight this is much more respectable.
Will be a good test to see what Hatton has left.
Senchenko was boxed to bits and stopped (can't beleive i said that!) on home turf by paulie so if Hatton struggles badly he'll probably retire again

The undercard is looking decent as well. Quigg vs Munroe and Buckland vs Foster Jr.
Look out for a young Fly/Bantam called Ryan Burnett. Used to live down the road from me, he was a Youth Olympic Champion and World Youth silver medallist.

If that undercard remains the same, I shall be making one of my rare pilgrimages north of the Watford Gap to watch things in person! Required viewing, I rather think.

Will the fight be televised?
I heard rumours of the undercard being on Channel 5 with coverage switching to Primetime (same owners) a while back, but nothing since.
Any ideas?

Re: Hatton V Senchenko
Mate it better not be on bloody Prime Time!! Considering he has not fought in 3 1/2 years i think that would be a poor decision to make. Should be on Channel 5/ITV/Sky Sports and nothing more. I would have paid (like i did in 09) to watch him on Box Office had he still been around fighting for World Titles. But to pay £15 for a 10 round bout is a joke to be fair.

I really want to go to this and I am tempted to buy a ticket. None of my friends want to go but I have never seen Hatton fight live and always wanted to. Hmmmm decisions decisions.

Even if Hatton disappoints, Daz, the atmosphere surrounding his return should be worth the experience, while Quigg-Munroe is one of the more significant domestic match-ups for some time.

Agree about the atmosphere. If I dont go this, I might run the risk of missing him completely as his next fight might be in Vegas or somewhere else far away.
I was very excited about the first match up between Quigg & Munroe and disappointed about the way it ended so would love to see this.
Besides Manchester is only about 30 mins from here - ok I just typed myself into a decision....I'm going!

Having been to a good share of fights would have to vaguely echo the captains comments and say there is no atmosphere like a hatton fight, I'd get yourself along if I was you Daz, I have been to fights on my own and is not as bad as it sounds, you just watch a lot of undercard fights.

I dont mind that at all Jeff. A few beers will keep me company. Going to book my ticket this evening. I have put a final roll call to some of my fellow fight fans. If no one is up for it, I will make the journey on my own! So be it!

I've heard that its been sold out already. I suppose you could ask one of the undercard fighters on Twitter to see if they have got any of the allocation left.

They actually get a percentage of the tickets they sell so I think that a majority would be more then happy to supply you with some

Yea, deadly choice...

Re: Hatton V Senchenko
After three years out during which he has feasted on coke and guinness who would you have suggested as an opponent reborn? Mayweather rematch perhaps or maybe dip a toe in at light heavy and see if Alvarez is available
