Re: Treviso V Scarlets
If Priestland had kicked to touch, Treviso would have taken the lineout and mauled down the pitch 60m (which they had jsut done) and would have moved into a far easier kicking range for the penalty. What Priest did was right imo considering how unthreatening the Treviso back three were.
He couldn't have predicted we'd have given away a really stupid penalty on halfway.

Re: Treviso V Scarlets
Kicking to touch uses up a minute of play time, there is a chance the Scarlets could have turned it over and the defence is set much further up the field i.e., running back a poor kick against a disorganised defence. There is always a risk of a penalty, Australia ring a bell where we lost the same way with the same flyhalf making the same mistake.

Re: Treviso V Scarlets
Well I'll be disagreeing with you about Rhys being at fault for the Australia match too.
Seems like with some people he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Looking at how the treviso forwards were playing, I think it would have been daft to give them another chance at a driving maul.

Re: Treviso V Scarlets
whats are peoples opinions on Burton and Botes, outhalf and scrum half are the problem areas for Italy, and wondering how much they have improved this area. How would they rate to the other flyhaves we are more used to, ie are they about Weirs level or who?
