Re: Il Azzurini
I know who every single one of them is. Mirallas isn't a striker. Totti isn't either (anymore). Luongo is there for the U21, nothing more. Only Gargano in your midfield shows quality on a consistent basis. The defence is sturdy, but nothing special. Keepers miles better than Olly's. I'm not saying it's not good, I'm merely suggesting that you shouldn't be crowing about it. It's very beatable.

Re: Il Azzurini
Every team is beatable
But you are showing yourself up to be behind the times.
Plus you genuinely don't know much about Mirallas then (ignoring the fact they are down as forwards, not strikers)

Re: Il Azzurini
I've seen Mirallas play probably 50 times. I'm a Belgium fan remember? Everton play him in his best position. Which is wide right (or left) with license to get forward. As a lone striker he's ineffective, and if he's part of a two, he needs to be with someone like Lukaku / Carroll. Great player.

I'll dig out the quote, but in an interview he says himself that he has never played RW and is more used to playing LW or up front (where he scored most of his goals for Olympiakos last season). But he will play wherever he is picked. Plus two goals and an assist on his Everton debut playing as a lone striker (admittedly against Leyton Orient )

I quoted wrong. He said he had played very little there. Can't find the actual interview now , only this with a few quotes from it

Re: Il Azzurini
Well all you have against you is my word, so most people would call us both fibbers
I've not been deliberately critical of everyone - but if you're telling me that keepers don't matter, why don't we all have David Seaman / John Lukic in goal?every team has it's weaknesses - mine and Vivas has plenty - but my comments today have been an honest appraisal of people's teams, and I fear that people are very touchy about weaknesses being pointed out. Maybe I could have been nicer...but you lot are all so lovey-dovey and complimentary. There are some real duff players in this league, I think we should all be able to laugh about it, not get huffy and defensive.
Albion beat Everton btw. Don't forget that

Re: Il Azzurini
I'm not saying that keepers make no difference, but you may as well have Tom Howard as Hart because they don't influence the votes enough.
I do agree that olly needs to upgrade his, but with the budget limits keepers would be one of the first positions I'd skimp on

Yes I would be interested in that. As long as there is a recall close in that two week loan whereby if Hunts is injured I can take Drogba back

I don't bother to read the rules. I just get guys like you to point it out to me.
3 weeks is fine. You can have him for longer if you want. As long as I get that recall clause.

Well thinking about it the 2m is more appealing after 3 weeks if you want it permanant.
I am not sure who is the better fit for my team and whether Totti would even feature.
Let me get back to you....you need that Italian anyway

Re: Il Azzurini
Well I don't mind telling you my plans. I am thinking of going 5-4-1 counter attacker or 4-2-3-1 with Matip and Rolfes together. Matip's ability to play both CB and DCM gives me that option, even though it breaks a potential Stoke partnership.
I would like to improve the right hand side as well (even though I like Routledge). So Mirrallas or Afellay available?
Lots of things we can do I think.

Well drop Totti then to make it easier for a deal.
I won't do Drogba + Shawcross = Matip and I know you won't do Matip = Drogba.
I would rather do Drogba + Shawcross = Matip + ??? or even Drogba + Shawcross + ??? = Matip + ???

I would swap Routledge for Sterling but then I would need an U21.

If you want an Italian, i'd be willing to let Paolo Cannavaro go but i'd want Matip in return, so not sure if it affects other deals.

Re: Il Azzurini
Yeah there is, but as you are not in my league you don't have to worry about that
I can't offer you Draxler. I will take a Usami to take the U21 loss of Sterling. Then I will add someone else. Amount of people that went for Sterling has got to mean that you can get a big deal even if you don't want him.
It just so happens you have the players I want, hence why I am offering him to you.

How about...
Matip + Afellay + Maxwell for Drogba + Shawcross + Sterling + Adriano
ENQ
No U21 problems, no italian problems and you get your two Schalke players.
I then lose Adriano, you was the first player I wanted due to his ability to play both flanks. Plus I STILL have a U21 problem, as losing Sterling leaves me with two. So no thank you.
Matip + Afellay + Usami (U21) = Drogba + Sterling (U21) + Shawcross

Re: Il Azzurini
I am not losing Adriano as he gives me the choice of just having 3 FB's. I would then have to go out and find a RB somewhere.
This appears to be the starting point:
Matip + Afellay + Usami (U21) = Drogba + Sterling (U21) + Shawcross
It is just agreeing the extra player to add my side.

I'm not sure who you would add though to persuade me. I see Sterling as a big step down from Afelay, despite the interest, plus Usami is my cover for both wings and AM.
It would take someone like Adriano to do it. I could offer Torosidis instead, who will cover RB, LB, RW and DM.
otherwise, I'm not sure what we can do

Re: Il Azzurini
He is hardly a big step down. He is playing regular for Liverpool and he is raved about on here. Look at the amount of people who went for him. I am sure you can use Sterling to get an upgrade. Afellay isn't even first choice at Shalke at the mo.
There is no point doing a deal with another team for Sterling for someone else you like, then offering you in the deal. Just going around in circles
Matip + Afellay + Usami (U21) = Drogba + Sterling (U21) + Shawcross + ???
Adriano is NFS. I got loads of players to choose from apart from him and my Shalke lot.
